"...woah! Doctor evolved again!"
A nurse exclaimed, peeking over Jewell’s shoulder. Since everyone in the apartment had a system and could potentially use Evo-Gear, all of them thought of themselves as evolvers. Hence, the nurse claimed that Jewell had evolved again.
Jewell sensed everyone’s eyes on him and quickly shut the interface before turning to the nurse.
"Do we not have enough patients to help that you’re standing here?" he said sternly.
The nurse hurriedly left, and everyone got busy working as his gaze fell on them. Only Daniel was left behind. He gave Jewell a thumbs-up before walking away.
Only after everyone had left did Jewell dare to look at his status page.
"Flesh sculptor... It’s the first time I have a heard of such a weird class. And what’s this about extracting biomass? Does this thing take me for a zombie?"
Jewell smirked and shook such thoughts out of his head. At the same time, he decided to inform Aiden about it once he got some results from James.
"...should I use these skills on him?"
Testing on someone without Aiden’s permission might backfire on him. However, it would be a different matter if no one reported him. Besides, Aiden had already left James in his care, so it didn’t matter much... did it?
With that thought in his mind, he took the clipboard and scrawled a few words on it.
The patient’s tongue went numb after administering injectors via the mouth.
Without a tongue, James won’t talk, would he? As for the fake symptom Jewell wrote down, he had received a new scalpel to make it true.

Meanwhile, in Aiden’s unit...
"This guy can sure act," Aiden smirked, closing the [Supervision] tab.
After the system informed him about Jewell’s awakening, he wanted to learn more about his class. He was about to call him up again, but then decided to use [Supervision] instead, and he was glad he did.
Jewell acted all concerned for James when Aiden lost his mind, but now he was doing much worse things to James than Aiden ever did, that too without batting an eye.
[Seriously, these earthlings are all twisted.]
"As if you, of all things, have the right to say that."
[I do, because I’m not from this world.]
"How about I twist you instead?"
[...my sincere apologies, Host. Other than that, shouldn’t we stop Jewell? James did serve you well—]
"The fool has outlived his usefulness," Aiden cut her off. "Compared to him, Lina is much better and actually has talent for her assigned job."
At first, Aiden had planned to let James stay after he learned his lesson. But all that went right down the drain once he found Lina.
James no longer had any use other than being a test dummy. If Jewell wanted to play with him, then so be it. After all, even Jewell was much more useful to him than that slob.
[What about Alisha and Lily? Alisha might not mind it, but Lily...]
Aiden got up, walking to the floor-to-ceiling window in the hall. Lily was innocent in all this. That was true. However, her own father exploited her, which is why he got punished.
"She is better off having no father than having James."
Ignoring the sentimental talks, Aiden looked through the other facilities. The only facilities that could level up with two thousand exp or less were the watchtowers.
Since there was no point in upgrading them just yet, Aiden closed the interface and went to check on Amaela’s progress with the ghouls next.
Aiden had a feeling Jewell would ask him about the corpses he had been collecting in the basement to get biomass from.
However, just as he was about to step out, he noticed a commotion downstairs.
"What the hell is going on down there?" he mumbled, leaning on the window.
Below, three people were being carried into the building. Karina was holding two girls over her shoulders while Glenn was supporting Dexter inside, and none of them were conscious.
Aiden walked out, heading towards the medicare center. By the time he got there, Karina was already lowering the two women onto stretchers, and Dexter had already been pushed into the operating theater.
"What happened?" Aiden asked.
"The guards found them outside," Karina replied, her shoulders stained with the blood of the women. "Someone had dumped them there and left."
Aiden turned to Glenn and said, "Bring those guards here!"
Glenn nodded and rushed out. Meanwhile, Aiden crouched down and looked at one of the women. Daniel was working on stopping her bleeding while a couple of nurses worked on the other girl.
"Sir—"
"Keep doing what you are," Aiden said dismissively, checking their wounds.
At a glance, it seemed like her shoulder had been punctured by a rhino’s horn. It was the same for the other girls. Puncture wounds along her collarbone and upper arm, but no other injuries.
"What about Dexter’s wounds?" Aiden asked Daniel.
"He had a similar puncture pattern as the women, but his are worse placed. One in the side, one in the thigh, and one just beside the heart... the chances of his survival—"
"That’s enough," Aiden sighed, getting up and pointed at Karina. "Come with me."
