[BL] The Mafia Boss Wants My Body

Chapter 359: A Little More Love Before Forever

In just three days, he would finally stand beside Adrian, exchange vows with him, place a ring on his finger, and call him his husband.

He couldn’t wait.

Making the moment even heavier with joy was the fact that his mother had arrived a few days earlier and was now staying with them at the estate. Having her under the same roof again, sharing quiet dinners, hearing her voice in the halls, was something Matteo had never let himself hope for. For years he had believed that kind of warmth, and the idea of a real family, simply didn’t belong in his life.

Late that night, after Adrian had fallen asleep, the weight of it all finally caught up to him. Matteo carefully slipped out from under the covers, careful not to wake him. He walked over to the couch by the window and sank into it.

Sitting alone in the moonlight, the usually unshakable mafia boss broke down. Tears ran freely down his face, not from self-pity or sadness, but from pure, overwhelming disbelief. He wasn’t crying because he felt he didn’t deserve love. He was crying because the life he was living now was so far from the dark, lonely existence he once believed would last forever.

Having his mother back in his life. Living in a home where he felt safe, loved, and truly at peace. Being only days away from marrying the only man who had ever truly owned his heart. It all felt completely surreal. There had been years when he thought life would swallow him whole and leave him with nothing but cold concrete and enemies. Somehow, against every odd, he had found a way out. He had found Adrian.

Adrian had brought a kind of happiness into his life that Matteo had never known before. From the outside, it might have seemed like he already had everything—power, wealth, and authority. But Matteo knew better. Without Adrian, all of it would have meant nothing. His life would still have felt empty.

He was grateful for Adrian every day, and he promised himself that he would never take his love for granted. Adrian never judged him or compared him to anyone from his past or his business world. He simply accepted him for who he was and loved him without asking him to be anything else.

A soft, tearful smile touched Matteo’s lips as another tear slipped down his cheek. He stared out at the dark window and whispered into the quiet room, "I won this time. Again. I have always won."

After sitting there for a few more minutes, Matteo wiped his face with the back of his hand. He didn’t want Adrian to wake up and see him like this. He didn’t want anything from his past to worry the man who would soon become his husband.

He quietly returned to the bed, lifted the duvet, and slipped underneath. Then he wrapped his arms around Adrian’s waist and pulled him gently against his chest.

With Adrian safe in his arms, Matteo closed his eyes. The warmth of the man beside him eased the last of his emotions, and before long, he finally drifted off to sleep.

**********

The morning sun filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a soft golden glow across their bedroom. Adrian stirred slowly, blinking against the light. When he opened his eyes, he found Matteo already awake, lying beside him and watching him with a warm, affectionate smile.

"Good morning, baby," Matteo murmured, leaning in to press a tender kiss to Adrian’s lips.

Adrian kissed him back eagerly, smiling against his mouth. "Good morning, my love."

Matteo brushed a stray lock of hair from Adrian’s forehead, his gaze softening. "Did you sleep well?"

Adrian let out a contented sigh, stretching lazily beneath the sheets. "I slept like a baby, knowing my husband-to-be was right here beside me."

At the word husband, a sudden, deep flush crept up Matteo’s neck and spilled across his cheeks. Before Adrian could even blink, Matteo snatched the edge of the duvet and yanked it up over his head to hide his face.

Adrian burst out laughing, tugging playfully at the edge of the blanket. "Babe? Are you seriously blushing right now?"

From beneath the covers, Matteo’s muffled voice floated out, defensive and utterly adorable. "No."

"Yes, you are," Adrian teased, grinning widely as he tried to pry the blanket away. "Come on, let me see!"

"No," Matteo grunted, holding the duvet in a vice grip as he rolled away to the other side of the mattress.

"Mr. Marcone, the feared mafia boss, is hiding under the bedsheets because I called him my husband?" Adrian mocked playfully, crawling across the bed after him. "Unbelievable. Let me see that red face right now."

"Leave me alone, Mama—uh, babe," Matteo stammered from his fortress of cotton, finally losing his grip as Adrian managed to yank the blanket down.

Adrian shook his head, looking at him with an amused smile. "I told you not to call me Mama."

Matteo’s lips curled into a playful grin. "I know."

"Then why do you keep doing it?"

"Because one day, I’m going to be able to call you that without you complaining."

Adrian raised an eyebrow. "When?"

"The moment we officially become husbands," Matteo replied confidently.

Adrian smiled and shook his head at him.

Matteo lay there blinking up at him, his face a bright, rosy crimson, though a helpless, lovestruck smile was fighting to break through his lips.

Adrian leaned over him, resting his chin on Matteo’s chest and looking down with absolute adoration. "Look at you. You’re gorgeous when you’re flustered."

"Shut up," Matteo muttered affectionately, catching Adrian by the waist and giving a sudden, playful roll.

With a startled gasp, Adrian tumbled onto his back, and Matteo loomed over him, trapping him gently between his arms with a triumphant smirk. "Who’s teasing who now?"

"You play dirty," Adrian laughed, wrapping his arms around Matteo’s neck.

"Only for you," Matteo whispered, his playful tone softening into something raw and deeply tender.

They finally let the game fade, sliding back down into the mattress until Adrian was settled comfortably against Matteo’s side. Matteo pulled the duvet back over them, wrapping his strong arms securely around Adrian’s waist and pressing him flush against his chest.

They stayed in bed for a while, talking quietly about everything and nothing, enjoying the peaceful morning and the comfort of simply being together. For a little while, there was nothing else they needed to worry about except the life they were about to begin together.

Then Adrian’s expression became thoughtful.

He lifted his head from Matteo’s chest and looked at him.

"Babe," he said softly.

"Hmm?"

"We’re getting married in three days."

A smile immediately appeared on Matteo’s face again. "I know."

Adrian smiled too, but his expression remained thoughtful. "I’ve been thinking about something. Our families haven’t really had the chance to sit down together and talk. Not properly."

Matteo listened quietly.

"I know my father wants to make things right," Adrian continued. "He’s trying, but I think he’s being careful because of everything that happened. He probably doesn’t want to overstep."

He paused, his fingers moving lightly across Matteo’s chest. "But now that we’re getting married, I think it would be nice for our families to spend some time together before the wedding. Maybe we could have dinner tomorrow night and let everyone sit down and talk."

Adrian looked at him, slightly unsure. "I don’t know if it’s too late to arrange something like that, but I thought we could try."

Matteo’s expression softened completely. He took Adrian’s hand and pressed a warm kiss to his knuckles.

"Baby, look at me."

Adrian looked up.

Matteo smiled. "Of course we can. I think it’s a wonderful idea."

He gently cupped Adrian’s cheek.

"We’re not having bachelor parties tomorrow night anyway, so why not use the evening to bring everyone together? Talk to your father and Maya and let them know about the dinner. I’ll talk to my parents and let them know too. We can all have dinner here, sit together, talk, and enjoy the evening before the wedding."

Adrian’s face immediately brightened. "You really think it’s a good idea?"

"I do." Matteo kissed his forehead. "I want our families to meet properly. They’re going to be family after we get married, so I think it’s only right that we give them the chance to spend time together."

Adrian let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding, a bright smile spreading across his face. He wrapped his arms around Matteo’s neck and pulled him into a warm hug. "Thank you, baby. Thank you so much."

Matteo hugged him tightly. "You don’t have to thank me. It’s something we should do."

He smiled softly. "Honestly, I’ve never done this before. I’ve never been married, so I’m figuring things out as I go. But I’m happy you want our families to meet. I’ll talk to my family, and you can talk to your family too. We’ll make it happen."

They stayed wrapped in each other’s arms for a long moment...
