[BL] The Mafia Boss Wants My Body

Chapter 343: Jealous, Spoiled, and Expensive

Adrian waved a dismissive hand without looking back. "Whatever."

Matteo chuckled softly beside him, glancing down at his fiancée. "You know Tony is just pulling your leg."

"I know," Adrian sighed, though his gaze drifted idly over toward Tony for a split second. "But honestly... have you ever really looked at him? Tony is actually pretty good-looking. Great face, solid muscles, and he doesn’t even try that hard. He’d probably make a really good partner for whoever is lucky enough to date him."

Adrian said it offhand, completely without thinking, just making casual conversation.

Suddenly, Matteo stopped dead in his tracks. He turned sharply, planting himself right in front of Adrian with a look of theatrical shock. "Did you seriously just stand there and compliment another man right in front of your fiancé?"

Adrian blinked, caught off guard. "What? No—I’m only saying—It’s just—"

Matteo crossed his arms, instantly putting on a exaggerated, sulking expression. He snatched Adrian’s hand and tugged him forward, marching into the resort lobby, stepping into the elevator, and walking all the way back to their private suite without saying a single word. Adrian tried to talk to him the entire way, but Matteo kept his lips pressed into a tight line, refusing to even look at his face.

Once the door clicked shut behind them inside the room, Matteo dropped Adrian’s hand and turned away, staring pointedly out the window.

Adrian stepped closer, a soft, amused smile tugging at his lips as he wrapped his arms around Matteo’s waist from behind. "I’m sorry, baby. Are you seriously jealous of Tony?"

Matteo glanced back over his shoulder, huffing softly. "You have never once said things like that to me, yet you’re out here praising another man."

Adrian rested his chin against Matteo’s back, letting out an affectionate laugh. "My man is absolutely perfect and the best looking man in any room. I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t mean it like that."

Matteo fought hard to maintain his stern expression, but the corners of his mouth twitched. He turned around slowly, biting back a grin before looking down at Adrian with sparkling eyes. "If you want to make it up to me, you’re going to have to say all of that to me right now. Just compliment me properly."

Adrian rolled his eyes playfully, though his gaze softened as he reached up to cup Matteo’s jaw. "Fine, you big baby." He leaned in close, his voice dropping into a warm, sincere purr. "You are devastatingly handsome, Matteo. You have the most striking face, shoulders that make me feel entirely safe, and a presence that completely commands every room you walk into. No other man even comes close to you. You are absolute perfection, and you know it."

The genuine praise hit its mark instantly. A deep, handsome flush crept up Matteo’s neck and spread across his cheeks, completely melting his stern facade.

Caught totally off guard by how much the words affected him, Matteo let out a rough, breathless laugh and pulled Adrian flush against his chest, capturing his lips in a deep, hungry kiss.

When he finally pulled back just an inch, his dark eyes were burning with sudden, wicked heat, a lazy smile playing on his lips. "I wasn’t even genuinely angry, you know... I was just pulling your leg," Matteo murmured, pressing his forehead against Adrian’s. "But god... I love it when you talk to me like that. It turns me on so fast."

Adrian let out a soft, delighted laugh, resting his hands securely against Matteo’s chest.

"I’m telling you, you’re just a big kid, Matteo," Adrian murmured, his eyes filled with affection. "If the rest of the world could see how soft, sweet, and gentle you really are underneath all that armor, they’d realize how wrong they are about you. But all they see is the ruthless man they’ve made you out to be."

Matteo’s expression softened, the playful teasing melting away into something quiet and vulnerable. He reached up, covering Adrian’s hands with his own. "Baby, I genuinely don’t care what the world thinks or says about me. The only thing that has ever mattered to me, the only opinion I care about—is yours. As long as you know this side of me, that’s enough. I’d do anything in this world to make you happy."

Adrian’s chest tightened with a rush of pure love. He stepped in close and wrapped his arms tightly around Matteo’s neck, burying his face in his shoulder. "After we have breakfast and rest a little... can we head back home already?"

Matteo wrapped his arms securely around Adrian’s waist, pulling him flush against his chest. "Alright, baby. We can go back home. But I have a question first."

They moved over and sat comfortably together on the edge of the bed.

Adrian looked over at him, tilting his head. "What is it?"

"Which one would you prefer?" Matteo asked, a slight, amused curve to his lips. "Should we set up your art company before the wedding, or after?"

Adrian didn’t even think twice before answering. "Before the wedding. And there’s one more thing, you’re paying my groom price."

Matteo raised an eyebrow. "Your groom price?"

Adrian nodded confidently. "Fifteen million dollars."

Matteo stared at him, blinking in sheer disbelief. "Babe..."

"What?" Adrian challenged with a playful smirk. "Is fifteen million too small? Alright, let’s make it twenty—"

"Wait, are you getting married to me or running a multi-million-dollar business deal with me?" Matteo interrupted, laughing lightly.

"Both," Adrian replied smoothly. "What, you don’t want to pay my groom price?"

"I’ll pay it, of course," Matteo said, shaking his head. "But isn’t your father supposed to be the one who collects that money?"

Adrian’s expression shifted, his old sense of independence returning. "No. Groom price is different from bride price. I’m collecting a groom price, and that money is mine. I’ve taken care of myself since I was a child. I earned it, I saved it, and it belongs entirely to me."

Matteo softened, his eyes studying him. "Babe... what if I told you I didn’t have that kind of money?"

Adrian didn’t miss a beat. "Then you better go work harder. I’m an expensive man, and I’ll take nothing less than that."

Matteo chuckled, leaning back on his hands. "Oh, really? What if I was poor and didn’t have a dime? Wouldn’t you marry me then?"

Adrian raised an eyebrow, a teasing glint in his eyes. "Well, what if I was ugly and totally unattractive? Would you have wanted me or even thought of coming close? You couldn’t take your eyes off me because I was drop-dead gorgeous."

Matteo threw his hands up in mock defeat with a low laugh. "Fine. Twenty million, that’s fine. You win." He shifted gears smoothly. "So, how much are you personally contributing to setting up your business?"

Adrian crossed his arms, looking completely unbothered. "Nothing. I haven’t been working. You’re the one who told me to stay safe and sit at home, remember?"

"And I paid you an allowance for that every single week," Matteo pointed out with a grin.

"And I used that money on my mental health while I was locked away waiting for you," Adrian retorted playfully.

"Babe," Matteo groaned, laughing.

"What?"

Matteo just shook his head, looking at him with endless fondness.

Adrian’s playful expression slowly faded, his voice becoming softer as he looked down. "Alright, jokes aside... I’ve actually already started making plans to set the place up myself. I have some savings in my personal accounts, and since you already bought the building for me, I wanted to handle the interior myself. I was trying to figure out how much I could afford with my own money. I honestly wasn’t expecting you to use your own funds to build the whole thing from scratch for me."

Matteo’s expression darkened with concern. "So you were planning to spend all your personal savings and empty your bank accounts? What would you have left for yourself?"

"I’ll make the money back," Adrian said with a small shrug. "Little by little, through my art."

Without another word, Adrian stood from the bed. Matteo watched him curiously as he walked over to his luggage, unzipped a small compartment, and pulled out his private black card. He returned to the bed and stopped in front of Matteo.

"I don’t know much about business, Matteo. I only know how to paint," Adrian said softly. He placed the card carefully in the center of Matteo’s lap. "Will you please help me set everything up? At least with whatever I can afford myself. I’ve been wanting to tell you about this, but I wanted us to get back home first."

Matteo sat completely still, looking down at the small piece of plastic on his legs, then up at the man standing before him. For a long moment, the room was quiet except for the distant sound of the waves.

Then, a slow, deeply fond smile broke across Matteo’s face. He reached out, grabbed Adrian by the wrist with gentle strength, and pulled him down straight onto his lap, wrapping his arms securely around him in a tight hug.

Adrian gasped softly before melting into the embrace, wrapping his arms around Matteo’s broad shoulders and hugging him back just as tightly.

"If I had the power to buy you an entire building...
