[BL] The Mafia Boss Wants My Body

Chapter 57: Secrets Don’t Stay Hidden

Matteo kept teasing, leaning against the bedpost with a smirk.

"Come on, let me meet her. It’s better to get it over with, don’t you think?"

"Not now!" Adrian whispered, pushing Matteo toward his clothes. "You’ll meet her, I promise, but not today. Please, just get dressed and leave before she arrives."

Matteo rushed to the window, glancing outside. "Oh... she’s here."

"Matteo!" Adrian called out in panic.

Seeing the sheer panic on Adrian’s face, Matteo burst into laughter. "It was a joke, baby. Relax."

"It won’t be a joke if you don’t get dressed right now!" Adrian hissed, his face flushed.

"Alright, alright, I’m getting dressed," Matteo said, finally relenting. He pulled on his clothes with practiced ease.

Once he was done, he reached for Adrian’s waist and pulled him close. His voice dropped, low and serious. "I’m picking you up after work... and you’re spending the night at my place."

Adrian nodded quickly, his heart still racing. "Alright. Fine. Now you need to leave."

Matteo didn’t move. "Kiss me."

"No, Matteo."

"Then I’m not leaving," Matteo said, his grip firm, unyielding.

Frustrated and desperate, Adrian hit his chest hard, annoyed by his stubbornness. Matteo let out a low groan, a smirk tugging at his lips like he actually enjoyed it. He didn’t move, just stood there, waiting for what he wanted.

Giving in, Adrian stood on his tiptoes and pressed his lips against Matteo’s. Matteo immediately deepened the contact, his tongue sweeping against Adrian’s as he tried to keep him there. He didn’t want to stop, but Adrian finally managed to pull away, breathless and flustered.

"Now, come on," Adrian said, grabbing Matteo’s hand and tugging him toward the door to head downstairs.

They walked down to the gate where Matteo’s men were waiting. Just as Matteo was about to get into his car, he paused and looked at Adrian.

"Kiss me."

Adrian glanced around nervously. "Matteo, it’s daylight. Anyone could see us."

"I want you to kiss me," Matteo insisted, his eyes locked on Adrian’s.

Despite his hands shaking with nerves, Adrian didn’t want the distance. He leaned in, and Matteo immediately pulled him flush against his body, deepening the kiss. It lasted for a long, breathless minute before Matteo finally let go.

"I’ll pick you up after work, okay?" Matteo said with a smile.

"Okay," Adrian said, a soft smile lingering on his lips.

He stood by the gate, watching as Matteo’s convoy pulled away, before finally turning back toward the house. As he stepped inside, he called out to his maid, asking her to prepare a quick breakfast so he could eat before heading to the studio.

He hadn’t even finished speaking to the maid when the doorbell rang. The maid went to answer it, and a moment later, Maya walked into the living room.

"Maya, you’re here," Adrian said, trying to sound casual. "I was just asking her to make me some breakfast. Do you want anything?"

"No, I’m not hungry," Maya replied, her tone clipped.

Adrian noticed the serious look on her face, and a flicker of anxiety stirred in his chest.

"Is everything okay?"

"Everything is fine," Maya said, though her eyes searched his face. "I spoke to Iris this morning. She said you’ve been busy lately."

"Yes," Adrian replied with a nod. "Work has been a lot."

Maya stepped closer, her gaze sharp. "You’re not lonely, are you, Adrian?"

"No, I’m not," he said, trying to sound confused by the question.

"You’re sure?" she pressed. "You’re not lonely?"

"I’m not," Adrian replied, his tone tightening slightly. "Maya, what’s going on?"

Maya shook her head lightly. "Nothing’s going on. I’ve just been stressed with work lately. It’s been too much."

"Then you should cut back a little," Adrian said. "Don’t let it get to you like this."

Maya sat down with him as the maid brought in breakfast. Adrian started eating, but he could feel her eyes on him. She watched him for a long moment, her silence more unsettling than her questions.

"Are you sure everything is fine?" Adrian asked again, putting down his fork.

"Everything is fine," Maya said softly. She paused, then dropped the bombshell. "Father is already arranging your marriage with Iris. He’s spoken to her father, and they want to start planning the wedding. They think you two are getting along very well."

As she spoke, Maya carefully watched Adrian’s reaction.

Adrian froze. "What? Why are they already talking about a wedding? I haven’t even told Father I want to marry her. I’m just seeing her—it’s not serious yet."

Maya looked him dead in the eye. "Is there anyone else you’re going out with?"

The question caught him off guard.

"No—no," Adrian stammered quickly. "I mean... I’m not seeing anyone. I’m just saying I haven’t made up my mind about Iris, I’m just..."

"Is there anyone else?" Maya interrupted, her voice dropping. "Anyone you like aside from her?"

Adrian startled, a sudden tension rising in his chest. "It’s not... I’m just saying I haven’t concluded anything."

Maya stayed quiet for a moment before speaking again. "Are you sure there’s no one you want to be with?" she asked softly. "Even someone you feel you shouldn’t be with... someone you’d rather hide? Is there really no one else?"

Adrian went quiet, his appetite completely gone. "We shouldn’t talk about this. I don’t want to get married right now. I have work at the studio, I think we should leave."

Maya looked at him. "You said you wanted breakfast."

"I think I should just go," Adrian insisted, standing up.

"Okay," Maya said, standing up with him. "I’ll head out too. Maybe I’ll come by next week to check on you again. You know you can tell me anything, Adrian."

Adrian looked at her, forced a smile, and nodded. "Yeah, I know. Thank you, sis."

They stepped out of the house together. Adrian got into his car and drove away, while Maya headed to her own vehicle. As he drove toward the studio, his mind was a whirlwind of panic.

They stepped out of the house together. Adrian got into the back seat of his car as his driver started the engine, while Maya headed to her own vehicle.

As the car pulled away, Adrian leaned back, his mind spinning with unease.

Is it possible she saw me with Matteo?

He replayed everything in his head, the moment at the gate, the way she had looked at him, every question she had asked. He couldn’t tell what she knew, but it felt like she knew something.

In the end, he let out a quiet breath and forced himself to push it aside, his fingers tightening slightly against his lap.

As the car pulled up at his studio, Adrian stepped out and headed into the building. He took the elevator to his floor, and when the doors opened, the familiar energy of the studio met him.

His staff were already there, busy with their work. As he stepped inside, a few of them greeted him. He gave a small wave in return before heading straight into his work.

His phone buzzed from time to time, messages from Matteo.

Eat something.

Don’t skip lunch.

How’s work?

Call me when you’re free.

Short. Simple. But enough to show he cared.

Meanwhile, Matteo handled business while texting Adrian. He sat in a high-rise boardroom, presenting the clean, legal side of the Marcone empire. Today, he was finalizing a major real estate deal.

Even in the quiet room, his presence held weight. He sat at the head of the table, listening as the others spoke. When he finally spoke, his voice was calm and final.

"The price isn’t a negotiation," Matteo said, sliding a single document across the table. "It’s an insurance policy. Sign it, and we all move on to a profitable year."

The developers signed with trembling hands.

As he stepped out of the building, a dull ache began to build behind his eyes. He checked the time. He wanted to head straight to Adrian’s studio, but an issue at one of his car showrooms needed his attention.

A shipment had just come in and something wasn’t right.

The work took longer than expected, and his headache only got worse as the hours passed. By the time he arrived at Adrian’s studio, it was already late into the night.

Adrian stood at the downstairs entrance, his arms crossed, his expression tight with frustration. The moment he saw Matteo’s car pull up.

One of Matteo’s bodyguards stepped forward and opened the door, but Matteo hadn’t even gotten out yet when Adrian spoke.

"You told me to wait, Matteo," Adrian said sharply. "I’ve been waiting here for over an hour."

"I know," Matteo said, his voice strained as he stepped out of the car. He moved closer and pulled Adrian into a gentle hug. "I’m sorry, Rian. Something came up, I couldn’t walk away from it."

"You kept me waiting here. That’s not fair," Adrian said.

"I’m sorry," Matteo repeated as he pulled back to look at him. He lifted a hand to his forehead, clearly not feeling well, then looked at Adrian again. "Let’s go," he said softly.

Adrian noticed him rubbing his head, his irritation softening into concern.

"What’s wrong? Why are you holding your head?"
