[BL] The Mafia Boss Wants My Body

Chapter 56: I Won’t Be Your Option

Matteo exhaled lightly. "He’s my friend. We’ve known each other for a long time... and he’s my right-hand man. That’s all he is to me. Why do you ask?"

Adrian hesitated. "I don’t want to cause any trouble between you and Tony... or make things awkward. I’m just trying to understand something... back at the villa, Tony said something to me."

Matteo frowned slightly. "What did he say?"

Adrian looked at him. "He said something about... a devil trying to act like an angel. That I should be careful."

He paused, choosing his words carefully.

"It felt like... he was warning me about you. Like I should stay away from you."

Matteo exhaled softly. "You should ignore him next time. Don’t listen to him, and if something like that happens again, tell me immediately."

He paused, his voice steady.

"And don’t worry... he’s just being protective. He didn’t mean any of what he said to you."

Adrian wasn’t convinced. "What about the night you got shot? Was the gun aimed at you... Or at me?"

Matteo’s gaze didn’t waver, but he lied to protect Adrian. "The gun was aimed at me, Adrian. I didn’t take a bullet meant for you."

Adrian’s eyes narrowed. "You’re not being honest with me, Matteo. I know that gun was aimed at me. The real question is... why? Why would anyone want me dead?"

Matteo held his gaze, unmoving. "It wasn’t meant for you," he said firmly.

Adrian let out a shaky breath, his frustration boiling over.

"Don’t lie to me!" he snapped. "I’ve never had enemies. I don’t fight with anyone. So why would professional hitters come after me?"

His voice trembled, anger and fear mixing.

"Someone doesn’t like me being with you, Matteo. That’s the truth... and I’ve been terrified ever since that night."

"I ran an investigation," Matteo said, his voice dropping. "I found out who was behind it. You’re safe now. No one is going to harm you."

"Then tell me. Who was it?"

"Do you trust me?" Matteo asked.

"I trust you, but I want to know."

"I won’t tell you," Matteo said. "But you have my word: you are safe."

Adrian stared at Matteo for a moment before finally letting out a quiet breath. "Fine," he said, then settled back against his chest.

Adrian shifted restlessly. "Can I at least get some... release? I’ve been frustrated since yesterday. I had to force myself to sleep."

Matteo didn’t move. "I’m not touching you," he said, his voice steady. "Not until we know what we are. I love you, but I won’t be something you hide while you go out with Iris. You know how possessive I am, I won’t be an option."

"But you call me your baby," Adrian reminded him.

"You are my baby. But we aren’t doing this until you choose."

Adrian stood up, frustrated. "Fine. I need to make a call and tell my assistant to move my meetings to noon."

"Okay," Matteo said.

Adrian shifted, reaching for his phone on the nightstand. He made a quick call to his assistant, asking her to move his meetings to noon.

When he ended the call, he turned back to Matteo. "Come on... let’s get up, freshen up, and have breakfast," Adrian said.

"No, stay," Matteo murmured, his fingers threading through Adrian’s. "We can have breakfast later. I have things to take care of too... but right now, I want to be here with you. Just holding you."

Adrian hesitated for a second... then gave in.

He settled back against Matteo’s chest.

At first, it was quiet.

Then Adrian’s fingers started to trace the line of Matteo’s lips with his thumb before his hand wandered lower, his fingers dancing over Matteo’s skin until he reached for his cock.

Matteo let out a soft breath, watching him.

Just as he was about to grab his cock, Matteo caught his hand with a low chuckle.

They both paused... then burst into quiet laughter, until Adrian’s phone vibrated on the bed, breaking the moment.

He glanced down at the screen. Iris.

Adrian hesitated for a second, then answered.

"Hello?"

Matteo leaned closer, his voice low.

"Put it on speaker."

Adrian glanced at him... then tapped the screen.

"Hey, Iris."

Iris’s voice came through bright and cheerful. "I was thinking we could have dinner tonight. I can make a reservation at one of the best restaurants in the city. Will you be available, Adrian?"

As Adrian sat up to listen, Matteo shifted behind him. He leaned in, his lips brushing against Adrian’s shoulder, his breath hot against his skin. "I’m picking you up after work," Matteo whispered directly into Adrian’s ear, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Adrian cleared his throat and spoke into the phone. "I’m really sorry, Iris. I don’t feel like going out tonight. I have a long session at the studio later; it’s going to take a while. By the time I’m done, I’ll be exhausted."

"Should I come to your office so we can leave together?" Iris pressed. "Maybe I can just spend some time with you there?"

Behind him, Matteo shifted Adrian closer. He slid his hand inside Adrian’s nightwear, his palm hot and possessive as it moved over Adrian’s stomach. His lips followed, pressing soft kisses along Adrian’s shoulder.

Adrian’s breath hitched.

Matteo’s touch was slow... deliberate... distracting.

Adrian swallowed, trying to stay focused on the call while his grip tightened slightly on the phone.

"I’ll be very busy," Adrian managed to gasp out, his eyes fluttering shut as Matteo’s hand wandered higher. "I have a client coming for a private session... I won’t be able to attend to you. Maybe we can fix something before the weekend."

"Oh... alright," Iris said, sounding disappointed. "Talk soon?"

"Alright," Adrian replied.

The moment the call ended, Adrian dropped the phone onto the bed. He turned in Matteo’s arms, his face flushed. "You did that on purpose," he whispered, his voice trembling with a mix of frustration and desire.

Matteo didn’t deny it. He just pulled Adrian back down. "I’ll be picking you up every night from work."

"You can’t do that," Adrian started to protest, but Matteo cut him off.

"I’m picking you up. What do you say?"

Adrian sighed, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "I’ll figure something out. Just... give me a little time."

"Fine. Good," Matteo said, pulling him into a tight, lingering hug.

They stayed like that for a while, wrapped in a quiet kind of peace they hadn’t felt in months. Matteo pressed soft kisses to the top of Adrian’s head, murmuring low, sweet things against his hair, while Adrian asked about how life had been during their time apart. It was nothing complicated, just easy conversation, the kind they had both missed.

As they spoke, Adrian noticed the time moving too fast. "We need to get up," he murmured. "I have to get to the studio, and you need to get to your meetings."

"You’re right," Matteo said, though his arms stayed wrapped around him. "But you’re the one who needs to move first."

They finally pulled apart and started getting dressed.

Adrian’s phone chimed. He checked it and felt a sudden jolt of panic.

It was a message from Maya.

Maya: I’m almost at your place. Should be there in a few minutes.

"Matteo, dress up! Quickly!" Adrian pleaded, his heart beginning to race. "My sister is almost here."

Matteo didn’t flinch. A playful, dangerous look settled in his eyes.

"Why are you so scared? This is perfect." He tilted his head slightly. "Let me finally meet my sister-in-law."

"What sister-in-law are you talking about?" Adrian hissed as he hurriedly pulled on his clothes. "Start dressing. Stop it, this isn’t funny."

Matteo kept teasing, leaning against the bedpost with a smirk.

"Come on, let me meet her. It’s better to get it over with, don’t you think?"

"Not now!" Adrian whispered, pushing Matteo toward his clothes. "You’ll meet her, I promise, but not today. Please, just get dressed and leave before she arrives."

Matteo rushed to the window, glancing outside. "Oh... she’s here."

"Matteo!" Adrian called out in panic.
