Chapter 279: 3 Vs 1 ( Final)
A purple black marble broke the chain freeing Render, as soon as he got free he touched his breast plate and pulled out a javelin.
The dark grey metal javelin was so heavy it bent space around it then he swung it with such force the sky seemed to crack.
Adrian barely reacted, the chains formed a cocoon around him blocking the flying javelin.
BOOOOOM, the sky shook and a calamitous shockwave spread out dispersing the dark clouds above.
The javelin spinned and grinded against the cocoon generating sparks, in a blink of eye flames Ignited in the sky turning both the javelin and the cocoon red from the heat.
It broke through the cocoon and hit Adrian on the chest sending him crashing on the ocean below.
A tail of flames followed behind the javelin as they crashed down like a red comet, the flames burnt the ocean raising a cloud of steam hot enough to melt flesh of the bones.
Adrian flew back out, his silver eyes burning with rage, there was a dent on his armour and the heat had burnt his chest fur beneath the armour.
’ These three are more powerful than I gave them credit for, at this rate my esper veins will give out before the fight ends.’
Adrian had tried to use as few abilities as he could and relied mostly on his body to reduce the strain on his veins.
But without using his many abilities, he didn’t know if he could win this, had it not been for the weapons on the wheel, he would’ve lost by now.
Still, he wasn’t about to show weakness, he turned his attention to two of them, the woman and the lightning guy.
Those two were fast, one can teleport and the other can move faster than lightning, the big guy was not too much of a threat.
While his offensive power was the highest, he was slower and Adrian can easily avoid most of his attacks if not caught off guard.
’ Which one should I remove first?’ then he turned towards the woman, ’ Her, she’s the one who hurt Annie.’
He set his target, his spear floated besides him and another weapon appeared on his hands.
It was a bow, shining silver in colour with a string so thin it was almost invisible. However that was not all.
A vial with a dark liquid appeared besides him, he conjured an arrow and dipped its tip in the vial.
Still hidden by the cloud of steam he drew the bow to its maximum range then released the arrow.
It was silent, the arrow cut through the air faster than a lightning bolt and appeared in front of the woman almost instantly.
Her eyes opened wide but she reacted fast enough, a portal appeared in front of her sending the arrow somewhere else.
In fact, she sent it back to Adrian, he felt it shooting towers his back from a portal that suddenly appeared there.
He reached behind him without even looking she grabbed the arrow which slowed down before reaching him then he teleported.
He appeared behind the woman with his bow already drawn, before she could register his presence he released the arrow.
She felt him a bit too late, she barely shifted her head and the arrow brushed against her neck cutting it deep to the bone.
She clutched her neck and teleported away escaping from him, he tried to teleport after her but he coughed up blood.
’ My veins can’t handle void tunneling anymore.’ he looked at the woman who appeared hundreds of kilometres away.
Her eyes held nothing but fear as she looked at him, she pulled out a green potion and gulped it down.
The wound on her neck started healing but Adrian didn’t care, the wound was the least of her problems.
Siri felt the wound healing, that feeling of death receded a little but her heart was beating rapidly from fear.
Her hands couldn’t stop shaking and there was only one thought in her mind, ’ Run,’ still she was glad she survived.
Suddenly she felt cold, something was coursing through her veins and going to her heart.
’ Poison.’ then she remembered the venom of the werewolves she was warned about and despair grabbed her by the throat.
She felt as she was drenched in freezing water while being choked by a giant, she had been warned.
If she’s bitten and injected with the venom, especially that if the wolf king, she would certainly die and nobody could save her.
She reached into her body with her mind and saw the venom swimming in her blood like countless snakes.
She examined it and realised this venom was different from any type of poison or venom she knew.
It felt more like a curse than actual venom, am incredibly powerful and dangerous curse.
’ I need to get back home, I need to find grandpa.’ Siri started panicking and used her esper to slow it down.
Fortunately it worked, it worked too well in fact so much so that she started to think the warnings she got were an exaggeration.
Then she remembered an important detail, she wasn’t bitten. ’ Perhaps it got weaker or maybe this is its full potency, I need to get back quick.’
Siri had no idea how correct she was, Adrian sighed, ’ My stored venom is too weak, it’s only useful against those monsters in Niflheim.’
Adrian could tell at a glance that while it weakened Siri, unless she was stupid the venom would not be able to kill her.
Then he turned towards the other two, ’ I need to at least kill one of them to send a message.’
He evaluated the two, he couldn’t teleport anymore and that Lightning guy was too fast, faster than he was.
While the other one had a stronger defence, it was better to deal with than overwhelming speed.
So he lunged at him, both had noticed him evaluating them. Seeing he was chosen as the easier target Render grew furious.
His esper coated his sword with a greyish light and he met Adrian head on. Spear and sword clashed.
Sparks flew and the sky ignited into flames, the ocean churned and winds howled connecting the sky like pillars.
Adrian’s spear lashed out like a serpent trying to sneak past Render’s defence and stab his neck.
Render deflected the spear then swung his sword from the side trying to cut Adrian in half.
Adrian pulled back his spear and placed it vertical blocking the sword, the clash caused a calamitous explosion of air.
Both fighters retreated and Render gained a hint of respect. " You’re good for a savage animal."
" An you’re strong for a mere human." Adrian turned his head and looked at Ben who was floating next to them with bolts of lightning surrounding his body.
" Do you intend to join?" He asked, honestly, he hoped he would not.
