Chapter 110: Black Market
He went to sleep and slept for hours, when he woke up he immediately used Hivemind. Sam, Suzie and John were startled.
" Is his telepathy growing stronger?" Sam asked, they knew Adrian had telepathy but he rarely used it so they never really understood its power.
They went upstairs and found him still in Bed but he looked better than before, " Why’d you call us?" Sam asked.
" We have three tickets, I need your help choosing who’ll be going to the dark market, I think we should pick at least one of those two." He suggested.
" If I may my lord, why not take both of them, they’re more knowledgeable about the criminal world.
You can also choose one amongst us to protect them, John perhaps since he has the strongest defence amongst us."
John looked hurt, he was honestly a very lazy guy, not at the level of Sam but he also hated working.
Adrian nodded, " I suppose that makes sense, I’ll call them." The three looked at each other in confusion.
Adrian closed his eyes for a second then opened them. " They’re on their way." He told them.
" Is your telepathy that strong?" John asked and Adrian shook his head.
" I used a new ability called Hivemind, it can allow werewolves of my pack to communicate with their thoughts like telepathy."
That interested the three of them, they wondered if they could also use it and he saw through their thoughts.
" Every werewolf can use, it’s like using a cellphone but using me as the signal tower, the further away from me you are, the worse the connection, try it."
They closed their eyes and tried to communicate with each other but the flood of information gave them a splitting headache.
" Concentrate on the one you want to talk to and filter your thoughts otherwise the others would know them."
They followed his instructions and it took some time but eventually they got the hang of it.
" This is amazing dude, very convenient." Sam marvelled which made Adrian grin with pride.
Then he closed his eyes and tried to sense the other werewolves, he figured he could sense all those in the city.
Using Hivemind he connected to all of them and taught them how to use Hivemind, this new ability made all the Werewolves excited.
However they strangely all disagreed with the ability being called Hivemind, that was an ability of insect type Gadra.
They decided to call it a pack call, being pressured by all of them Adrian eventually agreed to change the name.
He had to agree that pack call did sound more fitting for werewolves. They started using the ability immediately.
At first he also received all the information at once, he was forced to shut it off and filter what he hears.
Since he was akin to a signal tower, everytime the werewolves talked to each other, it had to go through him.
Fortunately he could block out that information allowing them to talk without him listening in.
Diego and Isabella arrived not long after and Suzie addressed them, she was even colder than Adrian.
According to her, Adrian should maintain his majesty but Adrian didn’t really see rh reason why he should.
Yes it does look cool but he was also certain he would always be cool to werewolves because he was the Primordial.
The couple was excited after being told the task of establishing connections in the dark market was left to them.
Suzie advised Adrian that they should keep their identities as werewolves a secret while there.
They had too many enemies as is, not only would they definitely be hindered there, they might be hunted.
They agreed and it was time for them to leave, John did not look happy. Then they met another problem.
They had no idea how to get there, " Maybe the tickets are going to lead you there?" Sam suggested.
They waited and nothing happened, " Try pouring esper into them, maybe that’s how they’re activated." Adrian’s suggestion sounded more reasonable.
Except, none of them can actively control esper like that except when using abilities. Isabella got confused.
" Didn’t you use your esper to help us awaken ours?" She asked Sam who shook his head.
Only he and Adrian understood how that actually worked. " We weren’t exactly controlling our esper in the way you think.
Your bodies and that of the other werewolves had their own esper which was still dormant, that dormant esper acted like a magnet.
I just needed to nudge my own esper a little making it active, basically start the activation of my ability then cut it off.
The active esper will seek a place to go and since it cut off from activating my ability it will naturally proceed to activate the dormant esper closest to it.
That’s why a physical connection is required to start the process." After the explanation, they all nodded with understanding.
" I see, then can’t we do the same with the coins, perhaps they too might act like some form of magnet."
Suzie suggested and took the coin, she activated her ability but took a bit longer to cut off the connection.
A flood of esper energy was poured into the coin making it shine with silver light, this was the same mistake Adrian made with Sam.
Sam touched his arms when remembering that experience, having Adrian’s pure esper in his arms was a very painful experience.
The esper dissipated into thin air after and nothing happened. " Perhaps we were wrong, maybe there’s another way." Suzie scrutinized the coin.
She noticed there was some writing on it written in a foreign language. She looked closer and the writing turned into a language she understood.
She read the words softly and the entire house turned darker. Space warped in front of them.
A black double door materialized in the house, on it there was a coin slots. " I guess this is the way to the dark market." Good luck, Suzie kissed John goodbye.
The three of them put the ticket coins in the coin slot one by one, each time a coin was inserted, the door would open.
They went in and disappeared. " You think they’ll be okay?" Suzie asked with worry.
Adrian shrugged, " They’ll probably die." he joked and went upstairs leaving Suzie pouting.
------------------------------
Somewhere in a dark room sat a man with black wings and a vulture head. He raised his head and looked up.
In front of him knelt another person from the Avian race. " Sir, the tickets have been used, the killers of our kind have entered the market."
The vulture man raised his head high and looked up, " Good, find them."
