Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf

Chapter 103: Lokna’s Reveal

Adrian continued sleeping, he was trapped in his dream. Outside, the battle grew more and more intense.

The other werewolves were holding on even though they were outnumbered but they were slowly being overpowered.

They had all activated their second states which were not as drastic as Adrian’s, their hair didn’t change.

Their nails merely turned into black claws, their teeth turned into sharp wolf fangs and their eyes gained a hint of a silver hue.

The silver hue was barely noticeable but it was there. In this state they were much stronger than their normal form.

While their overall esper energy pool didn’t change, it was as if they opened the valve a bit larger allowing them to use more esper at once.

However the vampire numbers were too much, even though most were weak level 1 vampires.

Working together with multiple level 2 vampires against only 12 werewolves, they started gaining an advantage.

The only one facing a single opponent was Melissa, not a single vampire dared get close to that fight.

They were quite surprised by her strength but none more than Karon himself, he had once believed he could defeat Adrian when he was a level 1.

He now realised the foolishness of his thoughts, this werewolf was definitely much much weaker than Adrian was.

Yet she was matching him in strength which could only mean one thing. Her rank was much higher than his.

For a level 1 vampire to fight a level 2 baron vampire, they would at minimum need to be a vampire count or a special vampire Viscount.

This werewolf had an esper so pure it could rival a count, two entire ranks above him, no wonder she could match him in strength.

His blood pool surged and flowed like a river of blood, the blood river crashed on the ground and a wave over 6 metres tall and 20 metres wide crashed towards Melissa.

She pulled back her fist and stomped hard on the ground creating a metre wide crater then she punched.

The air exploded and a visible air wave collided with the blood wave, all it managed to do was push a little of the blood back.

The air wave was not her attack, it was merely a by-product of her punch, the punch itself hit the wave of blood.

She had expected it to disperse but the wave opened up catching her off guard, before she could react it fell on her.

Melissa knew she fucked up but it was too late to retreat, instead she jumped straight into the blood pool.

It hardened into crystal blood and countless blood spikes tried to impale her, Karon smiled mockingly.

He could already picture his victory but when the blood spikes hit her body all he saw were sparks.

The sound of metal against metal filled his ears, she crashed through the crystal blood wall and lunged at him.

This shocked Karon but he reacted quickly and pulled the blood back attacking her from the back, Melissa was forced to dodge to the side.

She retreated a dozen metres, her breath was getting heavy. To tank that attack she forced her second ability to the limit.

She knew she couldn’t keep this up forever and might need to take her werewolf form to win.

She wasn’t the only one who thought that, Karon also thought to use his blood morphis and end this quickly.

On Suzie’s end, she was getting frustrated because she couldn’t hit her target, he was too slippery with his strings.

She grew tired and decided to destroy the trees he was using to dodge her attacks. Lokna realised what she was doing and knew he couldn’t hold back anymore.

Amongst vampires, Lokna was very special, when he was younger, he had been a vampire for about 60 years back then.

Like all other vampires he was arrogant and thought the world revolve around him. That all shattered when he met him.

A young Espara no more than 15 years old, the boy was not a lineage Espera and he had only awakened his ability a few months before they met.

In his arrogance he thought he could easily defeat the young Espera but what happened shattered his entire worldview.

Lokna was stronger, faster, more durable and had higher regeneration, logically he should’ve won.

The boy did not even have a ridiculously powerful combat ability, his ability was one of the lowest by Espera standards when it comes to combat.

Thought acceleration, it was good for adminstrative work but not combat or so everybody thought.

Yet with a single rusty sword, a 15 year old nearly killed a vampire, fortunately when they met.

That boy didn’t know much about vampire weaknesses, his village only knew their terror but not how to deal with them.

It was he who spread that information in the domain of the vampires and also he who started the rising dawn force.

Since that day, lokna did something other Vampires disdained, he trained, he was nearly 700 years old now.

Amongst the oldest plebian vampires at level 2 and also amongst if not the strongest because he achieved something impossible.

It was a known fact that people cannot use esper at will unless they’re activating an ability or casting a spell.

Lokna shattered those notions, this was his greatest pride. He came out of his reminiscence.

The silver spheres were already upon him, in that split second when he was distracted he was unable to dodge.

However he did not dodge, his strings gained a faint red hue as if surrounded by blood mist.

Clang, they collided with the dozen silver spheres and something unexpected happened.

The spheres were cut into multiple pieces and dissipated. Lokna jumped back and pulled back his strings.

The red hue disappeared, while he was now able to use his blood esper to enhance his strings, it placed a massive burden on him.

Technically he shouldn’t be able to do this at his level. He looked at his opponent expecting to see fear.

Yet all he saw was a slight surprise. Suzie was of course surprised, she understood better than anybody how hard her spheres were.

She knew defeating this man without going all out will be hard. She looked at the other vampires attacking her barrier and cracks started appearing on it.

Her body started changing, her clothes were ripped apart and her bones started breaking and rearranging themselves, her snout grew longer and she grew a fluffy wolf tail.

When the transformation ended, what appeared was a greyish black werewolf with grey eyes that had a hint of silver.

Her aura made the vampires back off, they felt a terrifying threat from her.
