Chapter 100: Volatile (2)
" A..drain?" Annie whispered, Adrian took a step towards her but he stumbled and almost fell.
’ Damnit.’ he was too tired and too sleepy, Suzie appeared next to him like a blur, the others didn’t notice her.
She had a ring on, she held him up and it was only then that they noticed something was wrong.
Upon closer look, their eyes were finally able to notice her. " I’m fine." He stretched a little and tried to stand upright.
Annie was confused by everything but seeing Adrian, she felt her rage boiling and stomped towards him with an angry face.
" Oh hey." He greeted her in a sleepy voice, she said nothing and slapped him across the face.
His body tilted to the side, " Huh?" A single slap made him lose his balance, his situation was getting worse.
" Ouch." Annie cried, she felt like she had slapped a steel wall, even Adrian’s tiny hairs were like micro needles.
Her hand was bleeding, then a softer hand grabbed her and in a blink of an eye a bandage was wrapped around her hand.
She saw a maid smiling at her, " Who..who are you?" She asked, this entire situation made no sense to her.
She was starting to wonder if this was a costume party but why wouldn’t her friends inform her.
" My lady, my name is Suzie, a loyal servant of lord Adrian, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you." She did a little curtsy.
That entire statement just threw Annie off, she just figured this girl was too absorbed in her cosplay character.
She turned back towards Adrian, " Do you know how long I have been looking for you? Do you know how worried I...are you drunk?"
Adrian couldn’t hear her clearly, his senses were shutting off with each passing moment and it terrified him.
" You..you need to leave now." He told her and Annie gritted her teeth.
" You disappear for months without a word and now you’re telling me I need to leave? If you hate me that much you could’ve just said so.
If you don’t want me in your life then fine, I’ll leave." She pouted and went towards the house.
She tried to hide it but tears started streaming down her eyes. ’ First it was Eve and now you’re leaving me too.’
Thinking about Eve, she failed to hold back her tears and started crying. Adrian felt bad and want to speak to her.
But before he could open his mouth he felt a hand push him away then he heard the sound of cracking bones.
He opened his heavy eyes and saw Melissa cracking the head of a vampire like a watermelon while grinning.
The director reacted, his body blurred and appeared between the two of them, he grabbed the dead body and threw it at the other vampires.
By the time Annie turned back to see what’s happening, the body was gone and since it was very dark.
She didn’t see the blood on the ground, combined with her already emotional state, she didn’t pay much attention.
Everybody else already understood that a battle was about to break out. Nancy immediately slipped away and stood far away.
Rosa pulled out her gun and ran inside the house faster than Annie. She shot two shots in the air.
The kids got sober immediately and ran out the house screaming. The vampires wanted to act.
After all they had already set these kids as their meal but before they could, the director stood in their way.
The kids ran off and Annie followed behind them, she turned to look at Adrian one last time.
However in doing so she met dozens of red eyes looking at her. The vampires saw the weakness of Adrian and wanted to use that to hurt him and everything he cared for.
Annie immediately got a bad feeling then the vampires acted. Karon signalled one vampire and all Annie saw was a blur then a streak of silver.
The next moment she saw a woman standing in front of her swinging a chain with a dagger on its end.
In front of the woman stood a headless corpse of one of the people wearing black cloaks.
Annie froze, " AHHHHH." She screamed in terror drawing the attention of everybody. Suki looked at her with annoyance.
Unfortunately she couldn’t do or say anything rude to this human, she understood that Adrian definitely valued this human’s life over any werewolf.
" Please calm down lady Annie, everything will be fine." Suki tried to calm her down but Annie was too shaken.
" You you you..you killed him, you killed him!" She shouted and took a step back, " Stay away from me!"
She pulled out pepper spray and threatened Suki. Suki almost laughed, " There’s a lot you don’t understand my lady.
I’m task by the boss to protect you and right now we need to get you out of here, it’s not safe."
" Not safe my foot, you’re the dangerous one here, I said stay back!" She sprayed Suki’s eyes expecting her to scream.
Suki merely wiped her eyes and shook her head, " Please don’t do that again, I’m trying to help you here."
Annie looked at her bottle of pepper spray and wondered if it was fake. She threw it at Suki then turned and ran.
She heard a loud crash behind and she curiously turned to look and saw Adrain lying beneath the debris of the fallen house.
" NOOO! Adrian." Seeing him unmoving she forgot about the danger and tried to run towards him but Suki grabbed her.
Annie struggled but found her strength lacking, she felt like she was trying to move an elephant.
" Let me go you’re elephant!" She shouted her thoughts outloud and Suki felt her veins throbbing.
She threw Annie but not hard enough to hurt her and a pair of arms grabbed her. Athi appeared out of thin air.
" You’ll be fine by yourself no?" Both heard Suzie ask and they nodded. Every werewolf had somehow accepted that she was third in command.
She was also the third strongest, physically she was the weakest amongst the thirteen Gemma but her long range ability made her more dangerous than the others.
Only Sam was somewhat stronger than she was even though his abilities didn’t differ much from others.
" Suki, you stay and help clean up the dirt." Suki grinned when she heard that. Athi looked dejected, she also wanted to partake in the slaughter.
" Do not worry, the spoils will be shared equally amongst us thirteen." Suzie turned around after saying that and went towards Adrian’s unmoving body.
" What do you think is wrong with the boss? He’s acting strange." Athi asked and Suki shrugged.
" I don’t know but I do know Suzie is pissed, they shouldn’t have attacked the boss, there’s no way they’re coming out alive after that."
Annie stood there unmoving, their conversation made no sense to her. ’ Adrian, What’s is happening?’ she wondered.
’ Do not worry, everything will be fine.’ she received a reply and paused.
’ Am I imagining things?’
