Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf

Chapter 94: Vampiric Council

A ghost like figure appeared above the locket and stretched out its hand, it grabbed a spirit and pulled it through the reflection.

Multiple ghosts of the villagers appeared and flew towards this ghost figure and disappeared.

The place returned to silence with the villager’s corpses and blood littering the ground.

A few hours after that, a group of people riding muscular horses appeared. They each had an insignia of a rising sun.

They looked around the village with pity and sadness, one of them found the corpse of the young man.

They worked together and buried the corpses, they buried the corpse of the young man last.

A woman dressed like a nun uttered a silent prayer that made the wind shift. One of them touched the ground.

He had a tracking ability and immediately new in which direction the culprit went, they jumped onto their horse’s backs and set off.

After flying for a few hours, Karon could already see his home, a giant palace surrounded by thick fog, it looked ominous.

There were no human settlements around here as no human dared to live so close to the house of viscount Karon.

As he got closer to the gates he transformed back from the bat cloud to his humanoid form, not even the children of the Viscount dared fly above his property.

Karon stood in front of the gate and waited, after a few seconds the gate opened on its own.

He walked inside slowly, the palace was nearly a kilometre away from the front gate so the walk took some time.

The massive double doors opened on their own and the first person he saw was the one he wanted to see the least.

" Hello sister." He greeted, in the outside world, Karon had lied and pretended to be the only heir to his father’s rein.

However the truth was that, not only was he the youngest child but also the least favoured because he was weak and talentless.

His sister was different, she was not the oldest but her talent outclassed all of their siblings except the oldest.

" Ah, if it isn’t little Vesta, have you grown tired of playing in the human world?" She smiled teasingly.

Those who didn’t know would think she was friendly but he understood more than anybody how cruel this bitch was.

He frowned, he really didn’t want to deal with her, " Where is father?" He asked, his sister clicked her tongue.

" You’re no fun." She didn’t answer his question and left. He followed her inside and went to find his mother.

The palace was huge so he asked one of the servants where she was. The servant led him to her.

" Mother." He bowed in respect, his mother didn’t turn to look at him and continued looking out the window.

" My little boy, why have you come home?" She asked, she understood her own child and knew he hated it here.

There was no way he would return unless something was wrong. Vesta clenched his fists.

" I have something to report to father, it’s about a new race of Fayera." His words made her finally look at him.

She knew more than Vesta and knew that right now, the entire realm was searching for a particular individual.

Rumours say he was a new Fayera, as a mere vampire Viscount, she didn’t know much but this interested her.

She sat down and looked at him with interest, " Oh, tell mommy all about it." She smiled gently.

Vesta relaxed, of everybody in this house, his mother was the only one to ever really show him any care or love.

In fact he was the only one who knew her secret, not even his father did. A few decades ago, she was able to upgrade her bloodline.

All of her other children, including her husband thought she was still a baron but he knew that was because she was hiding her real strength.

He didn’t know what she was planning nor did he care, he started narrating what had happened but he hid some things.

He twisted the story to make Adrian sound worse than he was and himself braver, his mother just smiled gently as he spoke.

Then she froze when he mentioned the death of a noble, " You’re saying this boy killed a noble vampire?"

He nodded. " Tell me about this noble, which family is he from?" She asked.

" Ezell." He answered, then her face changed making him wonder if she knew something.

" The Ezell? I’m certain all the children of Ezell are accounted for and you say this vampire was younger than you?"

He nodded, " Yes but he looked older for some reason." This had always confused Karon.

His mother nodded with recognition " I remember now, around 200 years ago, a plebeian vampire was fortunate enough to obtain a drop of essence blood from a fallen noble.

If I remember correctly, Ezell did adopt that child to his house, to think the adopted son of Ezell would fall in the human world, how pathetic."

She laughed but Karon did not, he knew if he was in Ezell’s shoes he would’ve died just as easily, that wolf was a monster.

" Well, if that’s the case then report this creature to the vampiric council, killing a noble vampire would make it the enemy of all vampires."

He nodded, he also had the same idea but he had hoped his father would stand behind him, that would give his words more weight.

" Come, I’ll accompany you." She suggested, even though she appeared as a baron to the outside world, being a level 3 existence gave her words a bit of weight.

Vesta Karon nodded, they took a carriage drawn by a flying bird Gadra and flew towards the central region of the vampire domain.

There sat a mountain whose peak rested within the layer of dark clouds. They landed at the base of the mountain.

Using pet Gadra to fly up was not allowed, as a matter of fact, no other species or race was allowed at the peak.

They both turned into a cloud of bats and flew up, it took a few minutes to arrive at the peak.

There they found two female vampires already waiting for them. The female vampires led them inside.

The hall was large and looked like a court room, on the highest level sat four beings wearing blood red cloaks.

Vesta and his mother immediately went on one knee before these four beings. " We greet the high ones."

They shouted at the same time, " SPEAK!" A loud and ancient voice boomed in their ears almost making Vesta bleed.
