Chapter 84: Mayor
Marcus and Charlie came back, they brought a few things they bought so it would look like they left to go to the shops.
They arrived at the hotel at the same time as cops then they saw those cops talking to a housekeeper.
They both looked at each other and sighed, " The mayor’s connections are quite vast." Charlie whispered.
They didn’t take the elevator and climbed the stairs instead but they reached their floor faster than the cops.
However they slowed down on purpose so those three cops would catch up. Just as they opened the door to their room the cops arrived.
" You two, stop right there." One of them and placed his hand on his gun. They stopped and looked at him.
" That room is suspected to be occupied by two dangerous criminals, step back for your own safety."
The cop sounded genuine which surprised the two of them, they stepped back and waited.
The cop took out a key card and opened the door and all three busted through the door but found the room empty.
Then they heard screams at the bathroom but instead of a woman, it sounded like two grown men.
They rushed there and paused, they saw a small petite figure torturing two muscular grown men with a bored expression.
She turned and looked at them but her eyes went past the cops to her husband and Marcus.
" What took you so long?" She stood up and walked towards them.
" Stop right there." One of the cops shouted, " And drop the weapon." She looked at her bloody hand carrying the dagger.
She looked at her husband and he nodded, she dropped the dagger but it disappeared like particles of light before it touched the ground.
The three cops were so startled they froze, " Wha..where’s the weapon, where did you hide it!"
He shouted but she ignored him, Charlie walked towards her, " Stop, don’t take a single step further!"
He ignored the cop then BOOOOM, gunshot echoed through the walls, everybody in the hotel heard it.
Charlie froze, a bullet wound appeared on his back, he looked at the cop who shot him expecting to see panic.
But all he saw was a calm coldness even though he tried to hide it. They all immediately knew this cop was dirty.
His two partners reacted differently, the shot made them freeze before the one who had been barking orders reached for his radio.
" Shot fired, we need medical assista..." Then he froze, the bullet fell out the wound and the wound started healing on its own.
In front of their eyes, it closed shut like there had never been a wound in the first place. A voice came from the other end of the radio.
The cop was too shaken to reply, Charlie turned his head and growled like a wolf making the three cops almost piss themselves.
" Mo.. monster!" They shouted and tried to run but Marcus stopped them, he grinned at the cop who fired.
Louis looked at the other two, " Everything is fine, you’ll forget all you saw and heard here and tell everybody there’s no problem."
She used compulsion on both of them and sent them off, the last cop started shaking with fear.
He saw the two crooks and knew his fate was not going to be any better. Charlie looked at them and raised his eyebrow.
" Were you trying to extract information through torture?" He asked and Louis shook her head.
" Then Why’d you torture them? That seems like a waste of time."
" I was bored." Her answer chilled the heart of the two crooks but the one most terrified was Charlie.
’ My dear wife is becoming a monster.’ he remembered how kind and lovely she used to be and sighed.
To be fair he couldn’t blame her, he too was changing, he was feeling less and less like a human and as a resul, he was valuing human life less and less.
He dragged the cop to the bathroom and used compulsion on all three to extract information.
He came back with bloody hands after ripping their hearts out, ripping hearts had become a habit to him.
" Those idiots don’t know much but they do know it’s going to be the mayor’s birthday in two days, his son is bound to her there as well."
The drunk driver who killed their children is the son and the man who assaulted Marcus’s wife is the mayor.
Father and son, both rotten to the core. " So what’s our next plan?" Marcus asked.
" Find a way to the party, I don’t just want to kill them, I want it to be painful and I want everybody to know what they did."
Louis growled, the two men could feel the rage in her heart, they could understand it though for they too held deep hatred for those two.
" Oh, Marcus, I also learnt from that cop that the one who assaulted your wife wasn’t the mayor."
This caught Marcus by surprise, " Who was it?" He asked but he already had an idea who it was.
" It was just son." Charlie answered but Marcus wasn’t surprised, that didn’t change anything.
The mayor had protected his son and after Marcus beat up the mayor, instead of righting his wrongs he destroyed the lives of his victims.
To Marcus, he was just as guilty as his son and deserved death. They booked out of the hotel and left.
When the housekeepers came to check they found three dead bodies with their hearts ripped out.
They called the cops and before long the news reached the mayor. The mayor felt uneasy.
" You’re telling me those three are gone and they had killed three of my best men?" He asked the person standing in front of him.
The man nodded, " I have blocked the city and every cop is out looking for them, they’re not getting away."
The mayor waved his hand and dismissed the man. Two people dressed like bodyguards came in, it was a man and woman who looked similar.
" Do you want us to take care of it?" The woman asked, these two were twins and both were beings far beyond human limits.
The mayor shook his head, " I need one of you to stay by my side and the other should go fetch that unfilial son of mine."
His tone carried a hint of respect and fear even though they were under his employment.
A stark contrast to the way he talked to the other man who had just left.
