At the same time, inside the secret room located on the back mountain of the Clear Sky Sect, the air was heavy and still. Not long after the fake Tang Xiao and the fake Seventh Elder had departed with their prize, the heavy stone door was pushed open once again. This time, the figures who entered were not illusions.
It was the true Tang Xiao, his expression solemn and filled with a heavy weight, followed by the true Seventh Elder, whose face was so cold it seemed covered in frost. Behind them came the Second Elder and several others, all of whom looked equally serious as they stepped into the dim room.
Tang San was still slumped on the cold ground. He had been secretly feeling a sense of relief, thinking he had temporarily saved his life by cooperating. He was even looking forward to whatever arrangements his uncle and aunt would make for him next.
However, he was completely stunned when he saw the group returning so soon. When his eyes landed on the Seventh Elder's face, which looked even angrier and uglier than before, he felt a sudden pang of dread. He subconsciously blurted out his confusion.
Uncle, Seventh Elder, why are you back again? Did something happen? His tone was thick with bewilderment. He truly had no idea how serious the situation had become or that he had been played for a fool.
This simple question from Tang San instantly froze Tang Xiao and the Elders in their tracks. They stared at him as if he had grown a second head.
Back again? What are you talking about, Little San? Tang Xiao asked, his brow furrowed tightly as an ominous feeling began to grow in his chest. We were just in the main hall discussing an alliance with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School. This is the first time we have come to see you today!
Tang San felt as if a bolt of lightning had struck him. His eyes widened in shock, and his face turned pale with disbelief. He shook his head frantically, unable to process what his uncle was saying.
That is impossible! It was clearly you, Uncle, along with the Seventh Elder and Aunt Yuehua! You came in here just a moment ago and forced me to hand over the Ring Explosion secret technique parchment. After I gave it to you, you all left! The Seventh Elder even said...
Before Tang San could finish his explanation, the Seventh Elder reached his breaking point. He stepped forward with a roar, his voice full of venom and mockery as he interrupted the young man.
Shut your mouth! You little beast, stop spouting such nonsense and trying to slander us! I have not stepped foot in this room until now, and I certainly did not take any parchment from you! You are clearly making up lies because you do not want to hand over the Ring Explosion technique. You are just trying to stall for time with these pathetic stories!
Tang San was already in a state of physical pain and mental exhaustion, but the sudden denial and the insults pushed him over the edge. He felt a surge of rage at being called a liar when he thought he had been doing what they asked. He forced himself to sit up, ignoring the sharp pains in his body, and shouted back at the Elder.
I am slandering you? You were standing right there with my uncle! You pressured me until I gave it up, and now you want to go back on your word and act like it never happened? How can you be so shameless?
You wicked creature! You still dare to talk back to your elders! The Seventh Elder began to tremble with pure rage. In his mind, Tang San was playing a dangerous game and mocking the dignity of the Clear Sky Sect. All his old grudges against Tang San's father and his current anger merged into one. He lost control of his temper and violently swung his palm. A fierce wave of spirit power accompanied the blow as it flew toward Tang San's face.
With a loud smack, the blow landed perfectly. Tang San was severely wounded and his spirit power was depleted, so he had no way to dodge a strike from a Titled Douluo. The force of the slap sent him tumbling backward across the floor until he crashed hard against the stone wall. Fresh blood spilled from the corner of his mouth, and a red, swollen palm print appeared on his cheek.
Old dog! You actually dared to hit me! Tang San covered his stinging face, his eyes suddenly filling with a mixture of deep humiliation and murderous fury. The pride of a genius was wounded, and he struggled to stand up, roaring at the top of his lungs. You faithless scoundrels! If you want a fight, I will give you one!
You are still talking back! It seems you really need a lesson to learn your place in this world! The Seventh Elder was beyond reasoning now. He took another step forward, his spirit power surging around him like a storm, ready to strike Tang San again.
Stop it, Seventh Uncle! Tang Xiao shouted, quickly moving to restrain the angry Elder. Even though he stopped the fight, Tang Xiao's own face was terrifyingly dark. He looked at Tang San, who looked like a cornered wild animal with blood on his face and hate in his eyes. Then he looked at the Seventh Elder, who was shaking with fury. Something is wrong here. We need to calm down and think.
The Seventh Elder was still struggling against Tang Xiao's grip, his voice loud and angry. What is there to think about? This little beast is clearly lying to us!
Before he could say another word, the heavy stone door creaked open again. Everyone in the room turned toward the sound. They saw Tang Hu, one of the most talented disciples of the third generation, standing at the entrance. He looked completely confused as he saw the Sect Master and all the Elders gathered in the secret room with a battered Tang San. He scratched his head and spoke with total confusion.
Sect Master? Seventh Elder? Why are you all in here? He paused for a second, his face scrunching up as he thought about what he had just seen outside. If you are all in here... then who were the Sect Master and Seventh Elder I just saw walking through the courtyard?
Those words were like a clap of thunder inside the quiet room. Everyone froze instantly. Tang Hu's innocent observation was like a flash of lightning that cleared away all the confusion and doubt. The realization hit them all at once.
Could it be? Tang Xiao's eyes shrank as the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. His heart sank with a feeling of dread. This is bad! We have been tricked! Someone used a disguise to impersonate us and stole the Ring Explosion secret technique right from under our noses!
The truth was finally out in the open. Tang San had not been lying, and the Seventh Elder had not been playing tricks. Someone with incredible disguise skills had arrived at the secret room before the real leaders of the sect. They had successfully pulled off a perfect deception, tricking Tang San into handing over one of the Clear Sky Sect's most valuable treasures.
What?! The Seventh Elder and the Second Elder shouted at the same time. The anger they felt earlier was now replaced by a cold panic and the feeling of being laughed at by an invisible enemy.
Chase them! Do not let them escape! Tang Xiao did not waste another second. He let out a powerful roar and his body turned into a blur of light. Instead of using the door, he smashed right through the stone window of the secret room. He shot out into the sky like a rocket, his heart filled with a mix of rage and desperation.
You bastard! How dare you play me for a fool! The Seventh Elder's hair seemed to stand on end from the sheer intensity of his anger. He followed right behind Tang Xiao, bursting through the window and unleashing his full spirit power to search for any strange presence within the sect grounds.
The Second Elder and the others also moved into action. They knew how much was at stake. They used their movement techniques to scatter in different directions, shouting orders to the disciples to block every path leading down the mountain. The entire sect was suddenly put on high alert as they began a frantic search.
In just a few moments, the room that had been full of powerful people was empty. Only Tang San remained, slumped against the wall with a face covered in blood and a soul filled with shame. Tang Hu stayed at the doorway, still looking bewildered by how fast everything had changed.
High above the Clear Sky Sect, Tang Xiao did not stop moving. He hovered in the air, his face pale with anger. As a Titled Douluo, his mental force was incredibly strong. He sent it out like a massive wave, scanning every building, every path, and every hidden corner of the mountain. The disciples below felt the heavy pressure of his power and looked up, wondering what could have caused their Sect Master to be so furious.
The scan was fast and precise. Within seconds, Tang Xiao's eyes locked onto the main road that led toward the Mountain Gate. Down there, he saw a figure dressed in gray. The man had a strong build and a face that was an exact copy of Tang Xiao's own.
The impostor was walking calmly, looking relaxed as if he belonged there. He even nodded politely to the guards at the gate, who bowed back, thinking he was their leader. The disguise was so perfect that even Tang Xiao felt a chill of recognition.
Who is that thief? How dare you insult the Clear Sky Sect with such a trick! Tang Xiao roared, his voice echoing through the mountains like thunder as he prepared to descend upon the intruder.
