Chapter 464: Migration To Aslan City
“Please line up,” Kael said in a calm tone. “We will be sending people to Aslan City in batches of three hundred. Don’t worry, all of you will get your turn.”
The teleportation gate was ready for service as soon as it had been built. Now, it was time to send everyone to the territory of the Aslan Tribe.
Leone had already asked Brann and Otto to handle the newcomer.
Bjorn, the temporary chieftain of the remnants of the Bonegnash Tribe, was also there to keep order.
“Is it really safe to enter that gate?” an old warrior of the Grimhowl Tribe asked.
“Don’t worry, sir,” Kael replied with a smile. “Just trust our Great Chieftain. He will not fail you.”
Encouraged by Kael’s words, the old man looked at the gate for a few seconds before taking a step forward in its direction.
The moment he passed through the gate, the women and children followed suit.
One by one, they stepped into the shining gate, and then disappeared from Eden.
When they regained their senses, the first thing they saw was the towering statue of the Earth Mother, which seemed to look at them with a faint smile.
“Please, right this way, everyone.” Brann gestured to the first batch of Grimhowl Tribe members after they crossed over the gate. “Our warriors will guide you to your new homes.”
The first tribe Leone had decided to send to Aslan City was the Grimhowl Tribe.
He wanted them to see with their own eyes the city that had survived the might of the Monster King.
Aslan City had been further expanded and could now accommodate over four hundred thousand people with no problem.
Of course, this only covered Aslan City, which was at the base of Grimjaw Mountain.
The estimate had yet to include the living areas within the mountain, namely the Hidden Village where the Aslan Tribe grew their crops, as well as Soleil City inside the mountain.
All the barbarian tribes could live together in Aslan City comfortably, and there would still be more than enough space left for other structures.
“Mother, look!” A little girl pointed at the flying Pteranodons in the sky. “They have big birds!”
The mother of the little girl looked at the flying monsters in the air that were patrolling the city.
“Yes, they are big birds,” the mother replied.
That was the only reply she could give her little one.
The monsters didn’t seem aggressive, so she breathed the sigh she had been holding.
“Please gather here, everyone,” Otto said. “I’ll only explain a few rules during your stay here. First rule, don’t attack the monsters that you see roaming here in the city. All of them are friendly and won’t hurt you.
“Second rule, do not attack the squirrels that you see loitering in the city. They are the little guardians of the Aslan Tribe and are always on the lookout for trouble. They also like to eat nuts, berries, and bread, so feel free to feed them if you feel like it.”
A few squirrels, who were perched on the rooftops of the houses near the teleportation area, looked at the newcomers with great curiosity.
A while back, Blitz had told them that new people would be coming to Aslan City today, so they should be on their best behavior.
It didn’t take long before more people passed through the teleportation gate. Soon, they were led to the district where the Grimhowl Tribe was going to stay in the city.
Everyone, even those who had been to the Aslan Tribe during the defense against the Monster King, couldn’t help but be surprised at the changes that happened after they left Grimjaw Mountain.
“By the Goddess…” One of the warriors who accompanied Hagen on that trip looked around him.
When he left the territory of the Aslan Tribe, there had been no city at the base of the mountain. It was bare, with nothing but the statue of the Earth Mother and the two lion monuments of the Aslan and the Darkmane Tribes.
*Squeak!*
“Hehehe! Run!”
“I’ll catch you!”
“Come here, little squirrel!”
*Squeak!*
Some squirrels decided to come closer to the newcomers, and the children immediately saw them.
This resulted in them running after the little guys, who began to play along with the children.
The laughter of the kids running after the squirrels made the tense atmosphere loosen up a bit.
When the first batch of the Grimhowl Tribe arrived at their new homes, almost all of them were shocked to see the houses where they would be staying.
“C-Can we really stay in a place like this?” the mother with the little girl asked.
“Of course,” one of the warriors of the Aslan Tribe replied. “Every family gets a home. The layout of every house is similar, so it doesn’t matter where you decide to stay.”
Each house was a spacious two-story building, meant to comfortably fit a family of four. For an average barbarian family, that was more than enough.
Some houses were made to accommodate families with six or more people, which made everyone feel like they were dreaming.
The houses were constructed with both wood and stone, and the design was exquisite. Each home already had its own furniture, as well as cooking utensils.
Chairs, tables, beds, and even bathrooms were available for everyone.
“Wow! Our house is so big!” the little girl said happily as she ran around the house with her new squirrel friend.
*Squeak*
“Hehehe! Our house is big!*
*Squeak*
The squirrel also looked happy for its new playmate, who seemed to like her new house.
Leone was observing all of this from the ramparts of the fortress on the mountain. The young chieftain had his hands clasped behind his back as he supervised the migration of the tribes with a faint smile on his face.
Now that they had seen the splendor of his city, he was certain that the tribes wouldn’t have any complaints about their temporary home.
The entire migration took sixteen hours to complete.
Even so, no one had any complaints after they were led to their temporary homes.
Some people even thought that staying in the Aslan Tribe was better than staying in Eden, or in their original tribal camps.
In fact, the three middle-ranked tribes were already considering staying in Aslan City permanently. The accommodation prepared for them was simply that impressive, much better than whatever they had back home.
In fact, the chieftain of each tribe was given a big residence in their respective district. Their homes were four stories high, making them easier to spot from a distance.
Once everyone had crossed over to Aslan City, Leone ordered Daedalus to dismantle the teleportation gate and store the materials inside its pages.
Although everyone had successfully left, Leone still had many things to do inside the abandoned city.
“It’s a pity I can’t teleport the dungeon to Grimjaw Mountain,” Leone muttered.
“Don’t feel so down,” Daedalus commented. “Who knows? Maybe when your territory rank rises, you’ll unlock the option to move a dungeon between your territories.”
“Are you serious?”
“Very serious.”
Hearing the grimoire’s words, Leone couldn’t help but smirk at the possibility.
However, he could only put this thought aside for now, as he had other things to do.
“Construction Mode on,” Leone said before he did some light stretching.
It was guaranteed that the Aurelion Army would temporarily take control of Eden and make it their base.
But that was fine.
In fact, that was exactly what Leone wanted them to do.
The moment he entered Construction Mode, the layout of the entire city appeared before him like a 3D hologram.
“Well then, shall we start?” Leone said with an evil look on his face.
“Let’s.” Daedalus unstrapped itself from its Master’s waist and hovered beside him. “We will make them regret staying in our territory uninvited.”
The Aurelion Empire coveted Eden so much that they were willing to ask the Kingdom of Britannia for help in exchange for some benefits.
None of them could have expected that Leone would turn the entire city into a slaughterhouse. When the time of reckoning started, the Aurelion Army would realize that the walls of the city didn’t protect them from harm.
Instead, these walls would serve as a prison, trapping them in a nightmare some of them wouldn’t be able to wake up from.
