Chapter 68: Dungeon Boss
Hearing the man’s shaky words, Desther merely shook his head and prepared to leave.
He does not plan on staying any longer as he still has a mission to accomplish.
If that man did not shoot an arrow toward him, Desther would not even bother about them.
Although he disliked trouble, that does not mean he was afraid of it.
He was not afraid to take revenge for any grievance he encountered either.
If he does not consider himself a law-abiding citizen, who knows what the outcome of these people would be?
Of course, he printed their faces in his mind.
If they ever met in the future outside the shelter, they better not disappoint him.
Desther turned around and prepared to leave.
Before he could take a step forward, the man suddenly told him to stop.
"Wait!"
Desther did not turn around but decided to stop, curious as to what he was stopping him for.
Seeing that he stopped, the man heaved a sigh of relief and smiled.
"T-thank you for dealing with them. Most of us here are injured, and we require immediate medical attention. If you had not arrived, those guys would have stopped us from exiting simply because they are stronger and they are not injured."
"Unfortunately, this is the law of the jungle. If we had not encountered the dungeon boss, we could have peacefully hunted some more monsters and earned some decent experience points."
"Anyway, thank you once again. We won’t stay here any longer," he stated as he and his comrades stood up, preparing to leave it as well.
However, this time, it was Desther’s turn to stop them.
"Which area did you say you met the dungeon boss?"
Stopping in his tracks, the man’s eyes lit up as he told Desther everything about the dungeon.
"The dungeon boss is in that direction. Be careful. That dungeon boss does not seem to be a simple monster. It was the first time we saw that kind of monster."
"What we have known so far regarding that dungeon boss is that it could camouflage really well. Still, if you look hard enough, it should be easy to spot, as it is as big as a van. It looks like the small monsters we fought along the way here but much fiercer."
"Oh right. Aside from the small monster’s water blasts, the dungeon boss also has another skill. Its tongue is as hard as metal and can pierce through hard objects easily, but it does bend like a whip as well. Be careful of that, as it’s because of it that most of us got severely injured."
"That’s all we know so far regarding that dungeon boss."
Hearing the detailed report, Desther could not help but nod his head in appreciation.
Although the dungeon boss would still not be able to pose a threat to him, having information in advance was still a welcomed addition.
After all, even in war, a general could have a few missing warriors but could not have a few missing pieces of information.
"Be careful out there. Thank you once again for aiding us," the man said as he and his team finally stepped into the exit gate.
Desther glanced at them before turning toward the direction they wanted.
He obviously did not believe them a hundred percent, but having somewhere to start was already a good start to begin with.
In this dungeon, there should be no threat to his life.
Unless, of course, Tier 2 and Tier 3 Awakened Professionals suddenly descended en masse to hunt his life. And honestly, even if they do come, Desther would not be as helpless as he was before. At the very least, he should be able to hold one or two of them.
Anyway, Desther moved toward that location while being mindful of his surroundings.
He doesn’t want to enter any more drama inside this dungeon.
Every time he saw a human, Desther would always choose to detour to avoid any unnecessary conflict.
Fortunately, his efforts bore fruit as no human was able to spot him.
The Awakened Professionals he helped earlier did not lie to him either. The dungeon boss was indeed in this location.
As of this moment, he was already staring at the humungous toad in front of him.
Compared to the Blastoads, this toad was indeed pretty massive.
Its appearance was much like an enlarged version of Blastoads, but much fiercer and more ferocious.
There were even horns growing right above its eyes, acting as its brows.
Desther also noticed that the holes at the back of its head were seemingly smoking.
’It looks like steam coming out from a steam locomotive,’ he thought.
The arms of this toad were also pretty massive. One could tell its muscular structure. Each muscle packing a punch.
Looking at those thick legs packed with meat, Desther could not help but salivate a little.
’I heard toads are rich in protein... I wonder if this one is actually edible.’
As a strange thought appeared in his mind, Desther no longer wasted any time and cast Theft Mark-Attribute Theft toward it.
Fortunately, it did not seem to be included in the Blastoad species in itself, as the Attribute Theft still worked on it.
He then conjured two consecutive Magic Bullets toward the sleeping beast.
As the Magic Bullets traveled in midair, the eyes of the huge Blastoad snapped open almost at the same time.
Its reaction speed was definitely a notch better compared to ordinary Blastoads.
Not that it matters to the current Desther, though.
His Magic Bullet, after all, had gotten faster after his recent attribute upgrade as well.
Still, since it was just a C-Grade Skill, its enhancement was not to the point of being overpowered on the same tier.
Two Magic Bullets struck the huge monster on its chest.
Two consecutive blasts resounded as the creature whined in pain.
It managed to endure the injuries it sustained as it opened its mouth.
Just when Desther thought it would release a blast of water, its reddish tongue suddenly enlarged toward him.
