Chapter 62: More Blastoads
His expectations did not fail him.
The moment he leapt, his body shot out like an arrow toward the distance.
His body moved in a curve as he landed on another root, dozens of meters away.
BOOM!
The landing was not smooth to say the least.
The root was not able to handle the power that came from that leap. Desther’s foot sank as cracks appeared at the top of the roots.
’Did my weight increase again?’ This thought crossed his mind as he looked at the cracked root beneath his foot.
’No matter. Let’s get down to business.’ With a single leap, Desther arrived in front of the Blastoads without any warning.
One of them leaps upwards, preparing to unleash a water blast toward him.
This Blastoad was bigger than the one he faced before. From the looks of it, this one seemed to be stronger compared to the ones he killed earlier.
However, still invigorated with his recent power-up, Desther did not allow the Blastoad to make a successful move.
A light leap was all it took for him to reach it in midair.
Casting Theft Mark, Desther halved its highest attribute as it prepared to open its mouth.
However, before the Blastoad could open its mouth to unleash a water blast, Desther’s foot was already on its way to the Blastoad’s head.
BAM!
A loud crashing sound was heard.
Like a baseball, the Blastoad was blasted toward the tree in the distance with incredible force.
Blood splattered as its body got stuck on the tree.
Even before Desther could land, the Theft Mark returned to him, indicating the successful kill.
One hit!
That was all it took for him to kill a Tier 0 Blastoad. One must also note that the Blastoads here had a level range of about 5-10.
The bigger the size, the higher the level.
The one that Desther kicked to death was also bigger compared to others, meaning it was highly likely around Level 9 or 10.
Still, that monster was easily kicked to death.
A simple action.
A monster was just killed by a simple action from someone who was just Level 2 at that.
If the people outside found out about this, they would surely think that their eyes were playing tricks on them.
After he kicked the Blastoad to death, Desther landed on one of the roots again.
As he did so, multiple Blastoad rose in midair and immediately released their water blast toward him without any warning.
Unfortunately, such actions could not escape Desther’s eyes at all.
With one fluid motion, the moment he landed on top of the root, he immediately twisted his body and kicked off the ground once more.
Arriving in front of the exposed Blastoad, Desther showed no mercy and kicked it with all his strength.
On his foot, Desther felt bones cracking into paste. The bones that were cracking were not his but from the Blastoad that was now blasted away like a rocket.
Even before it could land, the Theft Mark he just cast returned along with the stolen attribute.
Desther evaded another water blast attack as soon as he landed on the ground.
This time, there were four water blasts coming toward him from different directions.
Without thinking too much, Desther dropped to a clean planche easily and avoided the attacks completely.
After the attacks went past him, he explosively pushed himself off the ground and continued with a fluid kick toward another exposed Blastoad in the distance.
Although the power was not as great as earlier, the Blastoad was still thrown away like a kite.
Several bones inside its body broke, but it did not die with a single kick, unlike the others. It was still a question if it would be able to move, though.
While in midair, Desther saw out of the corner of his eye that one particular Blastoad had already opened its mouth with him as the target.
Unfortunately, Desther could not dodge it in time.
He could only brace for the impact as he used his two arms to block the incoming attack.
As the water landed on his arm, Desthe was surprised as he felt that the attack was not as strong as he had initially thought.
Rather than an attack, it just felt like he was being hit by a kid’s toy gun.
When he landed on the root, he inspected his arm and realized that aside from the dampness caused by the attack, he did not seem to get any sort of damage from it.
The sleeve of his hoodie, though, was torn apart like it was hit by a rotating drill.
From the looks of it, 45 points of Vitality attribute were doing its magic.
His tenacity and defense had increased once more. Not to mention his energy and stamina that seem endless and inexhaustible as long as he doesn’t do any hard task.
This fight, though, felt lightweight to his current self, so he would definitely not feel too much about it in the end.
Realizing that the skill almost had no effect on him, Desther quickly wrapped up the remaining Blastoads one after the other.
There were actually eleven of them in total. Another one arrived last and was the one that was able to sneak attack him while he was in midair.
’It’s really fun fighting melee, but using long range has its charm too. For melee, though, I really should get a weapon or two to aid me,’ he thought as he checked the notifications that he got earlier.
From this batch of 11 Blastoads, he gained a total of 103 Free Attribute points. One of them even gave him a solid 13 Free Attribute points.
Another 103 Free Attribute points that he could use to increase his strength.
Honestly, even Desther himself felt absurd at the thought of it.
Desther dismissed the Theft Mark notifications and finally inspected the notification for the experience points he gained for killing the Blastoads.
"Oh? Got lucky. What a surprise!" He exclaimed as he saw the series of notifications listed in front of him.
[ You have killed a monster: Blastoad- Experience Points +5% ]
[ Your level has increased! ]
[ Free Attributes: +5 ]
This was something that he had already expected would happen.
What surprised him, though, was the next series of notifications.
