Master, Your Wife Has Become a Super Star Through Fortune-Telling

Chapter 473 - 482: Not My Bone

The old man wore a pained expression, which he’d had ever since he learned the female ghost was keeping him alive to find her bones.

He had calmed down a little, knowing that at least the female ghost wouldn’t eat him right away. But he remembered what the streamer had just said.

’If I can’t find them, is this ghost going to swallow me whole?’

The more the old man thought about it, the more miserable he felt. The problem was, these bones were incredibly hard to find.

He had been walking for a long time, yet he had only found a single white bone—a long one, gnawed on by insects and ants, and covered in black spots.

’But where were the rest of the bones?’

The old man had no idea where the rest were. He desperately wanted to escape, but he was afraid the ghost would devour him the moment he turned to run.

All he could do was sigh in despair. ’I wish I could go back in time and slap myself for ignoring the streamer’s warning.’

’The streamer already said there was a ghost, but I just had to be stubborn. I insisted on thinking I’d hooked a big fish. Well, look at me now... I hooked a ghost.’

[Whoa, so there really are bones. But judging by how they look, it seems like they’ve been there for many years, right?]

[I’ve already called the police, by the way. This has to be a murder case, no matter how you look at it!]

[Why’d you call the cops? Maybe the female ghost killed herself. What if the police misunderstand the streamer and the old man?]

[But I think calling the police is the right thing to do. We’re already in this deep, what’s so hard to explain? Just let the female ghost talk to the police!]

The old man held up the bone, his hands trembling.

"What about the rest of them? Do you know where they are?"

He held up the bone and averted his gaze, not daring to look at the female ghost. But in the next moment, he heard a chillingly cold voice.

"This is not my bone."

’Not her bone? This just got a lot more serious!’

The old man shuddered with fright. He had been holding the bone with his hand wrapped in a piece of plastic, and now, terrified anew, he flung it away in panic.

The bone didn’t look like it belonged to any animal. The old man loved watching crime dramas, and it looked identical to the human bones shown in those series.

The old man trembled. ’But why did she say it wasn’t her bone? There can’t be a second ghost, can there?!’

But the female ghost floated forward, sniffed at it, and after a look, said with certainty, "This belongs to someone else!"

’Someone else? Who else? A person? Or another ghost?’

The old man wanted to ask, but the female ghost stopped him. "That’s not mine. My bones were all buried together."

"Alright, I’ll keep looking then."

The old man continued forward with a tree branch, not noticing that a dark shadow was slowly emerging from the spot where he’d just thrown the bone.

The shadow clung low to the ground, making it unnoticeable as it began to break through the soil, bit by bit.

[There’s way too much going on at this lake, isn’t there?]

[That last bone was definitely human, right? What kind of animal bone would be shaped like that?]

[I’ve seen pig bones before. They definitely don’t look like that!]

[I really think it’s a human bone. Don’t you guys think that shape looks a lot like a lower leg bone?]

[MAKE WAY!! I’m a doctor, let me explain. Based on the shape and the joints at both ends, I can confirm that’s a human tibia. And look at the joint—it’s bulging and compressed, but not completely broken. I’d diagnose that the person suffered a buckle fracture while they were alive.]

[Damn, so it really is a human bone! That’s terrifying!]

The old man wasn’t reading the comments. He just kept walking forward, branch in hand, as the female ghost directed him from behind.

"Yes, a little farther... right there, in that small pit ahead. I can sense it! My bones are hidden there!"

Hearing this, the old man felt a surge of hope. ’After I find these, I should be able to leave, right?’

He ran over and started clawing at the pit with the branch. Growing frustrated with how slow it was, he tossed the branch aside and started digging with his bare hands. But at that very moment, a dark shadow slowly drew near from behind him.
