Chapter 471 - 480: Screaming for Help
In that instant, it felt as though time had stopped. The old man’s lips trembled uncontrollably. He caught a whiff of something corrosive, a foul stench that shot up his nose and into his brain, leaving him feeling dizzy and dazed.
The overwhelming stench left him completely bewildered. He blinked, feeling as if he might pass out at any moment.
But an intense terror surged through his mind, seizing his every thought. Gripped by this fear, he remained conscious no matter how dizzy he felt.
However, in his state of extreme terror, he had lost his voice.
The old man frantically opened his mouth, only to realize with horror that he couldn’t make a single sound. His eyes darted to his phone in a desperate plea for help.
But the smile on the female ghost’s face only grew wider. Her purple-black lips stretched farther and farther apart.
The corners of her mouth nearly reached her ears, yet she kept on smiling.
Her black hair rose of its own accord, whipping about in the windless air by the lake before coiling around the old man. A deep chill intensified, crawling up his spine.
[Damn, what the hell is that thing? The old man hasn’t been scared to death yet, his mental fortitude is pretty strong.]
[God, I’m about to have a heart attack just from watching this one scene!]
[I gotta say, the old man is really brave. He hasn’t died of fright or even screamed.]
[Streamer, don’t just stand there watching! Do something!]
Su Nian saw the comments urging her to act, but she simply shook her head.
"This is his own ordeal to overcome. He can get through it. When he truly needs help, I will step in."
He watched as the female ghost’s head drew closer and closer, her gaping maw slowly starting to open.
It looked as if she could swallow the old man’s head whole.
The old man’s body began to shake violently, sweat pouring down his face. It was only then that his limbs seemed to come back to life.
Realizing he could still move, the old man spun around and fled. He staggered as he ran, his movements incredibly awkward, as if he were using his arms and legs for the very first time.
"Help! Somebody, help me!!!"
A bloodcurdling scream tore through the sky.
The old man was in his seventies or eighties, but in that instant, he couldn’t stop the tears from flowing.
Fear had scared the snot right out of him, but he didn’t have a moment to spare to wipe it away. All he could do was keep his mouth wide open, screaming for help.
He was so terrified that drool was streaming from his mouth, but he didn’t even notice. He had only one goal now: get to that phone as fast as he could.
The streamer had just said he would encounter a ghost today, and now it was really happening!
As absurd as it was, it was happening. His first thought was to beg Su Nian for help.
But no matter how fast he ran, he could feel the chill sticking close to him, as if it were about to seep into his very bones.
What terrified him most was that the more he ran, the worse he felt. His pace began to slow involuntarily.
He hunched over, gasping for breath. The back of his neck felt incredibly strange, and his whole body felt as if it were being crushed by a heavy weight.
But he didn’t dare dwell on it. All he could think was to run forward, faster, even faster!
Meanwhile, the viewers watching the truth unfold on their screens let out another wave of screams.
They could see that the female ghost had, at some point, started climbing up from the old man’s ankle, inching her way onto his shoulders.
Now, she was perched on his back, her head resting on his shoulder, that same terrifying smile still plastered on her face.
The old man, however, seemed completely oblivious. He just kept running for his life, screaming for help over and over again.
Snot, tears, and drool ran down his face in a messy torrent. He was a pathetic sight.
Su Nian watched, her hand rhythmically tapping the table, creating a steady THUMP, THUMP, THUMP.
