Master, Your Wife Has Become a Super Star Through Fortune-Telling

Chapter 178 - 179: A Problem on the Back

The nanny’s face was a mask of discontent at the thought.

"But I swear to God, the bed is covered in padding. Her employers are wealthy, so it’s all top-quality stuff. And yet, the young lady still says it’s lumpy. I’ve cleaned her bed from top to bottom, and I’ve even stacked ten layers of mattress pads on it until the bed is noticeably higher. But even with all that, she complains every single day that it’s uncomfortable."

[This sounds a little familiar. Let’s keep listening just in case.]

[I have a feeling this is just like a certain famous fairy tale.]

[Forget what you feel, it’s about what *I* feel! And I feel like it’s definitely that fairy tale!]

[This streamer doesn’t platform liars, so the girl must have some kind of mental issue.]

[Not necessarily. Maybe her sense of touch is just incredibly sensitive.]

The nanny saw this comment, her face a mixture of indignation and grief.

"What are you talking about? The entire family tried it out for her! We even put the youngest baby on it to roll around a few times, and no one thought it was uncomfortable! I’m telling you, she’s just doing it on purpose to give me a hard time!"

[You never know, maybe she’s just sick.]

[I think it’s hard to say. Everyone’s perception is different.]

[Maybe the girl is delusional? Thinks she’s the princess and the pea?]

The nanny huffed, "She’s had a full medical checkup and everything came back normal! It’s just... every day, she insists there’s something wrong with the mattress pads. It takes me two or three hours to change and wash them for her. And she talks in her sleep every night! Says all sorts of weird things I can’t quite make out. I just have this feeling that she’s really not normal."

As the nanny was ranting, someone suddenly appeared behind her.

She was in her room, the one provided for the nanny. Though small, it was furnished with a little table, a chair, a small bed, and its own tiny bathroom.

Just then, a sudden noise from the bed made the chattering nanny jump.

A girl with vacant eyes, who seemed to exude a gray, gloomy aura, slowly rose from the bed.

"This bed is so uncomfortable, too."

She mumbled this as she slowly shuffled out of the room.

This, apparently, was the strange girl the nanny had been describing. She seemed completely oblivious to the nanny’s rant, simply walking out in a daze.

Su Nian’s eyes sharpened. She focused her gaze and saw wisps of black energy swirling around the girl’s back. ’She’s been in contact with a ghost.’

The nanny’s face flushed. She couldn’t help but glance at the girl; being caught bad-mouthing someone behind their back was naturally embarrassing.

She instinctively apologized to the girl. "I’m sorry, Miss."

But the girl, still seemingly oblivious, just kept shuffling out of the room.

[There’s definitely something wrong. She’s practically a ghost herself. I bet she’s possessed.]

[Yeah, maybe the ghost had delusions of grandeur and wanted to experience being a princess, even in death.]

[I just think it’s super awkward for the nanny. The girl heard everything.]

[Also, there’s another weird thing about this girl. She seems really tired all the time, always looking for a bed to sleep in. What if the problem isn’t her, but one of the beds?]

The nanny wiped the cold sweat from her brow, her composure returning. "The reason I said she’s haunted is because her behavior has been getting stranger and stranger. On top of that, I keep thinking her back is getting more and more hunched over. Host, do you think there might actually be a ghost riding on her back?"

The nanny seemed to picture all the protagonists from horror movies who get possessed by ghosts. She shivered, looking absolutely devastated. "I wanted to quit, but the pay was too good to pass up. But if the young lady keeps this up, I’m genuinely terrified!"

[Whoa, does it have to be this intense?!]

[So is it the bed or is she possessed?!]

[Something about this feels off. I bet there’s more to the story.]

Su Nian’s expression turned grave. "The problem is, indeed, on her back."
