The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 2571 - 2570: Just Wandering Around

Xiangxue’s clansmen were no small number, so Ling Feng basically emptied out all the usable supplies from his spatial equipment.

But even that was just a drop in the bucket—barely enough to get by.

With at least some temporary security, Xiangxue said nothing, but Li Chunxi turned to Ling Feng and said, "This isn’t enough. Why don’t we go back to the Capital City and gather more stuff?"

"No need. The supplies in the Capital City aren’t nearly enough for what we need, and they’re not as good as what I’ve got over there."

Ling Feng chuckled. Seeing her pout unhappily, he reached out and patted her head. "So we’ll still get things from my place. I’ve got experience with this!"

Earlier, after entering the Chaos Sword, he’d been shuttling supplies back and forth nonstop; he really did have a lot of experience with this kind of thing.

Li Chunxi wasn’t truly angry; this was just one of her ways of acting spoiled. When she heard that Ling Feng was going back to his side to fetch supplies, she immediately said to Xiangxue, "Perfect, you should come with us too!"

"I..."

Hearing that, Xiangxue did feel the urge to go with him, but when she thought of her clansmen, she hesitated again.

"We’ll be back very soon. You’ll only be gone for one day—it’s not like anything major will happen, right?" Li Chunxi continued.

Those words moved Xiangxue, and she nodded. "All right then!"

Once she agreed, the three of them left Antarctica, retraced their route, and soon arrived back at Lingyun Island.

When he heard they needed to prepare all kinds of supplies for nearly a hundred thousand people, Gu Li didn’t hesitate at all. He nodded and said, "Got it, Boss. No need to talk to anyone else about this. Our county has a warehouse-style supermarket now—just place the order directly with them. Worst case, we clear out their entire inventory!"

Ling Feng was a bit surprised. "Our county’s that advanced now? We actually have a warehouse-style supermarket?"

"Boss, you’re always away, so you don’t know how much your hometown has changed. Our county is totally different now!" Gu Li laughed.

"That so? Then I really need to go take a look!"

Ling Feng smiled, then said to Li Chunxi and Xiangxue, "Come on, let’s go see how much my hometown has changed!"

"Sure!"

Li Chunxi loved bustle, so she agreed eagerly.

But just then, Xiangxue suddenly asked, "Ling... Brother Ling, what’s that hanging up in the sky over there?"

"That’s the Chaos Sword."

Ling Feng gave a simple answer, then smiled. "I’ll explain that whole thing to you slowly later. It’s actually pretty complicated."

"Oh..."

Xiangxue glanced at the Chaos Sword, but didn’t press for details.

After that, the group left Lingyun Island and Teleported away.

When they arrived at Ling Corporation’s headquarters and looked out through the huge floor-to-ceiling glass over the surrounding area, Ling Feng was momentarily stunned!

The streetscape had changed dramatically!

Back when Ling Corporation’s headquarters was first built, it was in the suburbs, relatively out of the way, not downtown, and surrounded by low-rise buildings.

Now it was completely different: outside, skyscrapers jutted up everywhere, the streets were jam-packed with cars. If he didn’t know he was at Ling Corporation’s headquarters, Ling Feng might have thought he’d arrived at Harbor Island!

This level of prosperity was totally different from the small county town of the past!

Seeing Ling Feng dazed, Gu Li chuckled. "Boss, you never asked, and it’s not like this was some huge deal, so I never mentioned it. Actually, our county isn’t a county town anymore—it’s been upgraded to city-level!"

"Oh?"

Ling Feng turned to look at him. "Because the population increased?"

"That’s just one factor. Another is the booming economy. Not to brag, but our Ling Corporation accounts for half of this city’s economic output!" Gu Li said with a grin.

"Oh, is that so?"

Ling Feng nodded, then smiled. "I did figure this day would come sooner or later. I just didn’t expect it to arrive so fast!"

By now Xiangxue and Li Chunxi were both transfixed by the scene outside the window, barely listening to Ling Feng and Gu Li’s conversation, just marveling at what this modern world looked like.

Ling Feng then said to Gu Li, "All right, let’s handle the main business first. The demand for supplies is urgent—hurry up and buy and load everything onto the ships. After that I still need to get some grain and seedlings and such. I want to bring everything we need in one go."

"Got it, I’ll arrange it!"

Gu Li nodded, then added, "Boss, don’t rush. This is going to take at least a few hours. If you’re free, you can keep the two ladies company and show them around."

Seeing him grin all sneaky-like, Ling Feng glared at him.

Gu Li left with a mischievous smile, and Xiangxue turned back to Ling Feng. "Brother Ling, is your home in this city?"

"No, my home’s a village."

Ling Feng smiled. Remembering what Gu Li had said, he added, "Tell you what, I’ll take you two to see my home!"

"Great!"

Li Chunxi clapped her hands immediately.

Then the three of them Teleported away and returned to Shiliu Village.

The simple home environment left both young women momentarily stunned.

Then they went outside. When she saw the surrounding scenery, Li Chunxi suddenly froze for a moment and looked back at Ling Feng. "These mountains..."

"The only things that haven’t really changed are these few mountains in front and behind us. This place and the other place I first arrived at are both Shiliu Village," Ling Feng said.

"Oh, I get it now!"

Li Chunxi still didn’t fully grasp the concept of a Parallel Universe, but she roughly understood the idea.

"Come on, I’ll show you what our Shiliu Village Development Group is doing these days."

With nothing else to do, Ling Feng decided to play tour guide for once.

The two girls were naturally delighted and left the house with him.

They ended up wandering around for two hours. Li Chunxi and Xiangxue witnessed firsthand how formidable modern agriculture was, and they also got to taste some specialty products from Ling Corporation.

Once their little tour was over, there was still no word from Gu Li. At that point, Xiangxue asked, "Brother Ling, can you tell me about the Chaos Sword now?"

Ling Feng hadn’t expected her to care so much about it, so he nodded. "Sure. I haven’t really gone into detail with Chunxi either. I’ll tell you both how that thing appeared and what happened afterward."

The three of them sat down on the northern slope of the mountain in Shiliu Village. Starting from the beginning, Ling Feng told them about the appearance of the Chaos Sword, his participation in the trial, and how he came to understand the situation of the world inside it.

When he finished, Xiangxue suddenly fell into deep thought, head lowered, silent.

Seeing her like that, Ling Feng asked, "What’s wrong?"

"Brother Ling, you said the Chaos Sword is broken, and it needs to be repaired before it can become a real sword, right?" Xiangxue asked.

"That’s right. It looks like a sword right now, but in fact it has cracks." Ling Feng nodded.

Xiangxue made a soft sound of acknowledgment, then said something that left him utterly shocked. "If you want to repair it, I might have a way."
