The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1729 - 1728: Searching for the Cause

"Don’t you dare?"

Ling Feng was taken aback for a moment, wondering if this thing had Spiritual Wisdom.

After thinking for a bit, he sheathed his blade and turned to ask the man, "Do we have enough space in our hospital to accommodate these patients?"

"There is, but I’m not sure if the director will agree. What does Mr. Ling intend to do by gathering them together?" the doctor asked.

"They’ve all been controlled by some mysterious creature. I need to gather them, then isolate them together and consider how to treat them afterward," Ling Feng replied.

The doctor nodded in realization, "I see. Director Chen has already gone to talk to the hospital director. If he doesn’t agree with your plan, I’ll try to persuade him!"

Ling Feng smiled and nodded, "Thank you very much."

About ten minutes later, Chen Fei returned, accompanied by several middle-aged men.

After introductions, it was clear that the hospital’s director and deputy director, as well as the county mayor and deputy mayor, were present.

Everyone understood the severity of the situation, so upon hearing that Ling Feng intended to resolve the day’s incident, they all immediately came over.

In front of the leaders, Ling Feng explained his idea. Although everyone was astounded by what they heard, Ling Feng’s reputation led them to agree promptly.

The hospital became busy again as many staff members cleared out the tables and chairs in the top floor conference room, creating a space of over 300 square meters.

Subsequently, patients were brought to this room one by one via the elevator.

Since their condition was fairly stable, the main task was to prevent whatever was absorbing their energy from doing so. Thus, these patients didn’t need special care beyond the IV drip they were on while lying in this room.

Once everyone was present, Ling Feng asked the others to leave and entered alone, closing the door behind him.

The patients were conscious and all eyes were on him, unsure of what he was planning to do.

Ling Feng smiled and addressed them, "Don’t worry. I’m going to arrange a Formation to block any energy flow in this room. It’ll ease your pain."

"What about the black spots on our stomachs?" someone asked.

News spread quickly. Ling Feng had earlier discovered something odd in a ward, and as word spread, everyone became aware of the issue.

On entering the large ward, with some discussion, everyone deduced where the problem lay.

Ling Feng smiled, "The black spots are indeed peculiar. I can’t remove them directly yet. Once we’re in your village to determine the cause, it can be addressed!"

Facing such a situation for the first time, Ling Feng decided to hold off on treating the patients until finding out who or what was responsible.

Listening to Ling Feng, people understood his actions were for their safety and said nothing more.

Ling Feng quickly set up Formation in the four corners of the room, then said to them, "Rest assured, there will be no more pain tonight. Some may even be discharged by morning if their condition improves!"

"Thank you, Mr. Ling!"

The crowd expressed their gratitude, their eyes filled with appreciation.

Ling Feng smiled, turned around, and left the room, explaining the situation to the leaders. He continued, "I need to visit that village now. It’s been delayed for so long; I hope the culprit hasn’t escaped."

"Alright, I’ll take you there!" Chen Fei immediately offered.

"It’s getting late. I should go alone, no?" Ling Feng suggested.

Chen Fei shook her head, "No way, I must be on-site myself. Without resolving this matter, I won’t sleep even back home."

"Alright, then!"

Knowing her personality, Ling Feng nodded, bid farewell to the director and county mayor, and then they both headed downstairs.

They drove off, and Chen Fei quickly steered the car out of the county toward the southwest.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the village where the incident happened.

This small village of just over a hundred households was alive with lights due to the odd occurrences, and none of the residents had resting.

With over thirty residents hospitalized, the village was already somewhat in disarray. Thankfully, the police and the safety bureau were on-site, preventing significant chaos.

However, as Ling Feng and Chen Fei arrived, they saw two police officers escorting a man forward.

Ling Feng stopped the car and asked loudly, "What’s happening?"

"Director Chen, you’re here? This man has been spreading panic, claiming the villagers have angered a plague god. We’re preparing to detain him to prevent further rumors," the policeman explained.

Chen Fei frowned and stated coldly, "Spreading rumors at this moment? Take him back to the county and detain him!"

"Yes!"

The two officers saluted and then took the man to the police car.

Turning to Ling Feng, Chen Fei said with some exasperation, "That’s the issue with remote villages; people are easily misled by talk of gods and ghosts!"

"Yes, when faced with the unknown, people often remain in awe,"

Ling Feng nodded and added, "Let’s go see the safety bureau and see what they’ve discovered!"

With that, the two of them walked on.

Arriving at the Village Chief’s courtyard, they found many people, villagers, police officers, and safety bureau staff.

As Ling Feng and Chen Fei arrived, the crowd quickly gathered around.

"No need to panic, the patients are stabilized. Now, it’s about resolving this local issue. Have you discovered anything?" Chen Fei asked.

The group exchanged glances, and a young man with glasses spoke, "Director Chen, we’ve got a general understanding. What’s happening in this village isn’t just disease transmission but involves special circumstances best handled by the safety bureau!"

"Fine, have you found anything?" Chen Fei continued.

"It seems to be the work of a mutated creature!" the young man stated.

As he said this, he was looking at Ling Feng, obviously aware of his identity and reporting to him.

Ling Feng nodded and immediately asked, "Any evidence to prove it?"

"I’ve questioned the villagers; most who fell ill reported seeing a peculiar-looking animal resembling a monkey, but neither this village nor the entire county has evidence of monkeys in the area," the young man explained.

"Good!"

Ling Feng nodded, his Divine Sense unfurling quickly!

It was late into the night, and the village was surrounded by mountains. Wildlife was mostly in their dens, rarely moving outside.

After a quick scan, finding no monkey-like creature, Ling Feng concluded, "Looks like it’s not nearby."
