Chapter 1712 - 1711: Compensation
Listening to Ling Feng’s words, Ava’s chest heaved with anger, but she didn’t say anything, nor did she dare to leave with Brown, standing there motionless.
Ling Feng rolled his eyes and stopped looking at her, locking his Divine Sense onto Brown.
After returning to his room, this guy took out a phone and dialed a number, then said, "The matter has been exposed, Ling Feng has come after us!"
A lazy voice came from the other end of the phone: "Why are there so many issues, what’s he causing trouble for now?"
"He is demanding compensation now, or else he won’t let us go, Mr. Ross, what do you say we do?" Brown asked.
Jack Ross sneered: "Won’t let you go? What’s he going to do, dare to kill you all?"
Brown gave a bitter smile: "He hasn’t killed anyone, but Fahad has been severely injured by him, unable to move!"

Jack Ross exclaimed in shock and then angrily said: "Is that Ling fellow crazy, daring to attack?"
"I can see it, he’s not just about hurting people, he really dares to kill us all, Mr. Ross, you’d better think of something, he’s in the room next door with Ava right now!" Brown said.

Jack Ross cursed, evidently thoroughly enraged.
In his fury, he shouted: "You have the entire team of superpower users from France, and you’re still not a match for him? Get rid of him!"

Jack Ross’s tone seemed to relax, then he said, "Alright, go talk to Ling Feng and apologize for the previous incident, and offer some cash compensation, let’s say ten million US dollars!"
"Alright, I’ll try, but what if Ling Feng isn’t satisfied and thinks it’s too little?" Brown asked.
"Then don’t let him ask for the sky, try to negotiate, there’s no need to spend too much money on something like this!" Jack Ross said.
Brown nodded, then asked: "What’s the maximum you’re willing to accept, Mr. Ross, so I have an idea?"
"One billion, no more than a billion!" Jack Ross said.
"Alright, I got it!"
Brown also felt the money was substantial, from ten million to a billion, surely there was a price that would satisfy Ling Feng.
So, after hanging up the phone, feeling reassured, he stepped out of the room and returned to Ling Feng.
Then, seeing Ling Feng looking at him with a half-smile, Brown took a deep breath. With a slight bow, he said, "Mr. Ling, I apologize for what happened earlier!"
"I accept it!"
Ling Feng smiled and then asked: "Now, let’s discuss the compensation!"
Just after saying that, before Brown could speak, Ling Feng chuckled and held up one finger: "I’m not going to haggle with you, a flat fee, one billion US dollars!"
Brown: "..."
He was completely dumbfounded, having never expected Ling Feng to demand the maximum price Jack Ross could tolerate right away!
Seeing him speechless, Ling Feng smiled: "I know you can afford it, now let me give you an account number, wire the money immediately, and then I’ll stop bothering you all!"

Hearing that he wanted to leave, Brown felt a weight lift off his shoulders and quickly agreed.
Ten minutes later, the transfer was completed.
A sum of money was transferred through the Swiss Bank to Ling Feng’s account in the Harbor Island company, and he immediately received notification.
Seeing the funds credited, Ling Feng smiled with satisfaction, then stood up and looked at Brown: "Our grievance is now written off!"
With that, he didn’t wait for Brown to speak and stepped out of the room.
Seeing him leave, Brown stood there in a daze for a moment before recalling Fahad on the ground, rushing to help him up, and then asked: "How are you?"
"Brown, you almost got me killed, wait until I’m healed to settle the score with you!"
Fahad’s face was ashen as he spoke softly.
"I didn’t tell you about this, it was Mr. Ross’s idea, don’t blame me!" Brown said, aggrieved.
"No matter whose idea it was, I was kept in the dark and ended up seriously injured by Ling Feng, how do we settle this!" Fahad asked.
"I’ll make it up to you later, just hurry back and rest, heal properly!" Brown said with a bitter smile.

Ling Feng went downstairs and got back into Catherine’s car.
"How did it go?" Catherine asked.
"Made some cash, matter’s settled!" Ling Feng smiled.
Catherine made an approving sound, then asked, "Where to now?"
Ling Feng chuckled: "The countryside estate, there’s still something that needs dealing with!"
Catherine didn’t ask further, nodding as she started the car and left the hotel.
Half an hour later, the car reached the vicinity of the estate and stopped by the roadside.
Ling Feng scanned with his Divine Sense and indeed found more people there, among them several familiar faces, the very ones who had previously kidnapped his team members!
Seeing them, Ling Feng squinted, a glint of coldness flashing in his eyes!
Then he opened the car door: "Wait here for me a moment, I’ll be back in a few minutes!"
Catherine smiled and didn’t say anything, watching as he got out of the car and disappeared into the woods.
Sure enough, a few minutes later, Ling Feng returned with a grin.
Seeing him so happy, Catherine asked: "What’s up? Why so pleased?"
"Punished those people and framed Jack Ross in passing, the Francians and him are bound to have a huge falling out!" Ling Feng said with a malicious grin.
Catherine paused, then caught on to the crux of the matter and said: "Now, won’t the Francians complain about Jack Ross’s ruthless actions?"
"Yes, they failed their mission last night, and today he killed those superpower users, it’s lucky if they don’t end up fighting!" Ling Feng laughed.
Catherine glanced at him and couldn’t help but tease: "You’re really wicked!"
Ling Feng feigned innocence: "My wickedness was forced out by them!"
With that, he patted Catherine’s thigh: "Alright, with things settled pretty much, let’s proceed to the next step!"
"Alright!"
Catherine, in good spirits, nodded and then started the car, heading back to the city.
Back at the hotel, after checking out, with the manager and Arthur among others seeing them off, the two drove away straight to another city, Washington D.C.!
