Chapter 695: The Cave
Ling Feng was astonished in his heart. Had this shark become a spirit? It was actually flanking?
Seeing that the shark had failed to bite them just now, it readjusted its posture and charged at them again.
Ling Feng quickly shielded An Xue behind him, and then the God Slayer Saber lit up with a glow, and he whipped it towards the gaping maw of the shark!
With that hit, the saber’s light struck right at the shark’s teeth, snapping off its sharp fangs, which fell like falling snow!

He looked down, and Ling Feng was instantly scared out of his wits!
Wrapped around him, was an octopus tentacle!
He was all too familiar with this thing; he didn’t know how many he had harvested before!
In just an instant, after the squeeze at his waist, Ling Feng felt the tentacle tighten its grip, forcing out a big part of the air from his lungs!
He was about to use the God Slayer Saber to cut off the tentacle, but with a whoosh, the creature suddenly pulled with force, and in an instant, he was dragged out more than a dozen meters!
Ling Feng and An Xue were separated instantly!
Seeing this scene, An Xue became frantic, and swam towards him with all her might!
Ling Feng’s lungs were already out of oxygen, stars sparkled before his eyes, and looking back, he realized he was being dragged into a patch of seaweed!
He couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, thinking, I never expected to end up as a water ghost!
Looking back and seeing An Xue still desperately chasing after him, her small hand stretched out to pull him, but the distance between them kept increasing, already surpassing ten meters!

Opening his eyes, everything around him was pitch-black, and the light was so faint he could barely make out his surroundings.
His mouth tasted both salty and bitter, so he quickly struggled to sit up, wanting to find some water to rinse his mouth!
But then he remembered that he did not know where he was, and where could he find water?
Reaching out, he felt a soft body beside him, and by the fabric of the clothing, he knew it was a wetsuit!
Realizing that An Xue was by his side, Ling Feng gratefully patted her, "Wake up!"
After patting her bottom twice, An Xue finally murmured, which eased Ling Feng’s mind.
The girl was still alive; that was good!
But where were they, and why was it so dark?
Ling Feng remembered that before he fell unconscious, he seemed to have been dragged into a patch of seaweed by that giant octopus tentacle, right?
Scratching his head, he heard An Xue let out a cry of alarm, and he quickly said, "Don’t be afraid, I’m here!"
"Big Brother Ling!"
Hearing his voice, An Xue immediately threw herself at him, embracing him.
Feeling the tremble in the girl’s body, Ling Feng tried to comfort her with a wry smile, "Don’t be afraid, it’s all right now!"
"I’m so relieved that you’re okay, you scared me to death. I thought you, you had an accident!" An Xue said with a sob in her voice.
While holding onto him tight, the girl leaned her whole body against him, as if she lacked a sense of security.
Ling Feng, not standing on ceremony, wrapped an arm around her shoulders and said, "I thought I was going to die too, but somehow, when I opened my eyes, I ended up here."
Having said that, he laughed, "Do you think we might be inside the belly of a shark?"
"Ah?"
An Xue was startled, she reached out to touch the rocks beneath them, cool and hard to the touch, then shook her head, "Impossible, there couldn’t be rocks inside the belly of a shark!"
"I was just teasing you, this isn’t the inside of a shark, otherwise the air wouldn’t be this good!"
Ling Feng chuckled, recalling that there might be something for illumination in his Space Ring, and with a thought, a bright flashlight appeared in his hand!
"Close your eyes first, I’m going to turn on the flashlight to see where we are."
He specifically warned her before flipping the switch.
"Mhm."
An Xue nodded slightly and quickly closed her eyes.
A beam of snow-white light flared up, making Ling Feng squint for a moment, but once he had gradually adapted to the intensity of the light, he discovered that he and An Xue were situated in a mountain cave!
After a while, An Xue also adjusted to the brightness in front of her, looking bewilderedly at the ceiling and surrounding stone walls, she muttered, "Where is this place?"
"I don’t know, it’s a cave. Do you remember anything else from before?" Ling Feng asked.
An Xue’s face showed contemplation, and after a moment, she said, "No more, I only remember seeing you get caught by an octopus into the seaweed, I felt you might be in danger, thinking if you died, I wouldn’t want to live either, so I rushed in!"
Ling Feng smiled, "And then?"
"Then I don’t remember."
An Xue’s face turned red, she stole a glance at him, and said, looking down.
She had accidentally revealed her true feelings, and it was too late for regrets now!
Seeing the look in Ling Feng’s eyes, she knew he had understood, and her face grew even redder, unable to look at him anymore.
Ling Feng was still holding her shoulders, and suddenly he sighed, pulling her into his embrace, "Thank you."
An Xue’s body trembled, then she went limp, "No need, you risked your life to save me, and I would do anything for you, too."
A man and woman held each other, as if time had stood still.
After a long time, Ling Feng released An Xue, "Alright, let’s figure out a way to leave this place, getting back home is what’s most important!"
"Yes, everyone must be worried sick."
An Xue said, breaking free from his embrace.
Ling Feng picked up the bright flashlight and stood up, saying, "Come on, let’s see what’s outside this cave!"
The two were at the bottom of the cave, with no path ahead, but outside there was a passage.
So, after they both stood up, it was natural for them to take hold of each other’s hands, walking together toward that direction!
The cave was deep and narrow, only wide enough for two people to walk side by side. Therefore, Ling Feng and An Xue were very close, occasionally brushing against each other.
After walking nearly a hundred meters, a glimmer of light suddenly appeared ahead, An Xue’s eyes lit up, "The cave entrance!"
"Not necessarily, let’s get closer and see!"
Ling Feng wasn’t as optimistic as her and he spoke gravely.
