Chapter 692: The Boss is Awesome
At noon, Ling Feng returned to his own home.
Suddenly appearing, he startled the three people in the house!
"Boss, did you just teleport back here from somewhere?" Yu Nan asked with wide eyes, surprised.
Ling Feng hadn’t expected Sun Hao and Du Song to be at his home. After pausing for a moment, he didn’t answer Yu Nan’s question but instead asked with curiosity, "What are you guys doing here?"
"We came to mooch a meal off you, Boss. I’ve told them about the top-notch ingredients you have here, and both of them wanted to try!" Sun Hao said with a grin.
Ling Feng looked at him, "It’s you who wants to eat, right? Using them as an excuse!"
Hearing this, Yu Nan burst into laughter, "I knew the Boss wouldn’t believe you. How about it, trying to use me and Du Song as your excuse didn’t work, did it?"
Sun Hao, chubby and thick-skinned, just chuckled and said, "It doesn’t matter, everyone’s got to eat, right, Boss?"
"You and your gluttony, I swear..."
Ling Feng didn’t know how to describe Sun Hao and just shook his head helplessly, "Come on, let’s go out back. I’ll make something for you to eat. Now that I think about it, I’m kinda hungry too!"
The four of them left the room and were walking to the back when Du Song cautiously asked, "Boss, you didn’t answer our question just now!"
Ling Feng glanced back at him, "Look how sensible Sun Hao and Yu Nan are. They figured I didn’t want to talk about it and didn’t ask. Why can’t you catch on?"
"I...."
Du Song was at a loss for words.
Yu Nan and Sun Hao, seeing him put in his place, immediately snickered. It was obvious that although these three had only just met, they had already developed into close, albeit ribbing, friends.
Once in the kitchen at the back, Ling Feng took out some food produced in the Fourth Layer Heaven from his Space Ring. Without adding any seasonings, he just stewed a big pot.
So, this midday meal, the four of them ate until their mouths were greasy. Yu Nan and Du Song, who tasted such delicacies for the first time, couldn’t stop singing praises, showering Ling Feng with flattery.
Ling Feng was long immune to this and didn’t take it seriously. After the three had their fill, he said, "I know you guys all want to hang with me. I must say, it’s definitely the right choice, but there’s one thing you guys ought to think about!"
"Boss, we don’t need to think about it. Rest assured, I’m with you for life!" Sun Hao thumped his chest, his flab waving like a flag - quite the spectacle!
Yu Nan and Du Song also vowed with pats on their chests, ensuring their absolute commitment, as brotherhood is a lifetime affair.
Ling Feng smiled, "I want to remind you that following me isn’t just about eating meat every day. In the future, we might encounter quite a few troubles. Enjoying good times now might lead to bad luck later!"
"No worries, we brothers are not afraid of life or death. If someone dares to provoke us, we’ll face them together and just take them down, right?" Sun Hao said carelessly.
"What if we can’t take them down and bring trouble on ourselves instead?" Ling Feng asked with a half-smile.
Sun Hao paused for a moment, "Doesn’t matter, on the path I’ve chosen, I’ll accept it even if it leads to death!"
Saying this, he looked at Ling Feng and chuckled, "But I believe that as long as we’re with the Boss, we’re the ones stepping on others - no one can step on us!"
Ling Feng: "..."
While they were talking and laughing, a timid voice came from the front yard, "Big Brother Ling?"
Upon hearing this, Ling Feng knew it was An Xue’s voice. He quickly stood up and went out, then saw her standing in the courtyard, carrying a travel bag.
"Eh, how come you’re here by yourself?"
Ling Feng was somewhat surprised. He had just left her place not long ago, and here she was, following him already?
An Xue laughed, "There’s no need for me to worry about home. Mom said that since I’m working for you, I can’t always stay at home, so she told me to come back early."
"Staying a couple more days wouldn’t have been an issue, Auntie is overthinking it!" Ling Feng said, feeling helpless.
While they were talking, Sun Hao and the others also came out.
Out of the three, only Yu Nan had met An Xue before. He nodded and greeted her, then gave Ling Feng a meaningful look.
The implication was clear: Big Boss is indeed powerful. Have you already won over this lady?
Ling Feng didn’t bother with him and said to An Xue, "Since you’re back, it’s perfect. I’ve been wanting to test the new equipment too."
After saying that, he addressed Sun Hao and the others, "You three go have fun. I’ll come find you if I need anything!"
Sun Hao and the others: "..."
Once Ling Feng and An Xue went to the front room, Du Song couldn’t wait to ask, "Old Yu, who is that girl?"
Yu Nan turned and glared at him, "Don’t ask what you shouldn’t. When it’s time for you to know, the boss will tell you himself!"
"Uh..."
Du Song, speechless, scratched his head and said, "No need to tell me; I can guess. She must be the boss’s confidante!"
"The boss is truly mighty. Wherever he goes, there’s always a beauty by his side. It’s really enviable!" Sun Hao exclaimed admiringly.
Yu Nan looked at him, "The boss isn’t here right now. You can put your brown-nosing on hold; there’s no need to practice it!"
"Hehe!"
Sun Hao laughed, "It’s just a habit!"
Ling Feng took An Xue to Nine Heavens and didn’t go anywhere else, heading straight to The Fifth Layer.
Seeing the pile of supplies there, An Xue was surprised and her already large eyes widened further.
"Let’s not talk about the diving suits for now. Take this!"
Ling Feng picked up the underwater rifle and handed it to her.
Although it had the appearance of a gun, the magazine and bullets of this rifle were very special. The bullets were long and slender, measuring over twenty centimeters in length, obviously designed specifically for underwater shooting.
An Xue, having her first contact with a gun in her life, had a flash of excitement in her eyes and turned back to Ling Feng with a smile, "I was like a boy when I was little, liking to play with knives and guns. I never thought I would actually have a chance to handle them!"
Ling Feng smiled, "As long as you like it. Having this with you underwater, I’ll be a bit more at ease. However, don’t try to act tough when encountering large creatures. If you can avoid them, do your best to stay clear!"
An Xue nodded, "I understand!"
While they were talking, Ling Yao walked in from the entrance and saw them both, "You’re both here, that’s great. Xiaoxue, guess what I’ve brought!"
After speaking, she flipped her palm and a wooden house appeared out of nowhere, landing on the open ground.
An Xue was startled. She had never seen Ling Yao’s abilities before, and the power to conjure things out of thin air was astonishing!
But her attention was soon drawn to the wooden house. She went inside for a look and clapped her hands excitedly, "This is wonderful, Yaoyao sister. Is this for me to live in?"
"It’s for temporary rest and changing clothes. If you want to live, you should go to the First Layer. It’s more lively with everyone together," Ling Yao said with a smile.
An Xue nodded, "Okay, thank you."
"You arrived at the perfect time, with An Xue here too. Why don’t we try that submersible?" Ling Feng asked.
