After exchanging pleasantries, Ling Feng followed Lu Zixuan forward and soon arrived next to a quaint ancient building.

"This is the Family Head’s residence, Mr. Ling, please."

Lu Zixuan made a welcoming gesture and said respectfully.

"You’re too kind."

Ling Feng smiled and stepped through the door.

The furnishings inside the house were very simple, indicating that Lu Fei did not care much for material life.

Walking down a corridor, there was a moderately sized courtyard beyond, where a middle-aged man was practicing martial arts!

"Family Head, Mr. Ling has arrived!"

Upon hearing Lu Zixuan’s words, Ling Feng was taken aback.

The middle-aged man appeared to be in his forties, not yet fifty—could he really be Lu Fei?

That didn’t seem right; even the old man Lu Liang had to call him ’big brother,’ so how could he look so young?

As Ling Feng wondered, Lu Fei walked over slowly with a smile on his face and said, "Surprised, aren’t you? Everyone is when they meet me for the first time. I’ve grown used to it over time!"

Then both went silent, each taking a few sips of tea.

Since it was their first meeting and they had no past interactions, forcing a conversation would not yield any topics.

After a long silence, Lu Fei suddenly spoke up, "By the way, I heard that Mr. Ling used to be a doctor?"

Ling Feng nodded, "Yes, I still am. I work as a village doctor."

"Oh, then your medical skills must be quite exquisite?" Lu Fei inquired.

Ling Feng smiled, "They are passable; I wouldn’t claim they are exquisite, but I can solve some minor ailments and disasters."

Lu Fei: "That’s perfect, there is a young member of our clan who is ill; may I ask Mr. Ling to take a look at him?"

Ling Feng was momentarily stunned, having thought the topic was just small talk, only to discover there actually was someone in need of medical attention!

He suddenly remembered Sun Lei, how quickly that kid had recovered, indicated that the Lu Family must have very capable doctors, so why seek him out?

As he hesitated, Lu Fei said with a hint of disappointment, "If it’s not convenient for Mr. Ling, then never mind!"

Leaving the room, Ling Feng followed him and Lu Zixuan to another house.

This was an ordinary residential house, deathly quiet with no one in sight, as Lu Fei confidently made his way to the back and then pushed open a door.

It was a bedroom, with nothing but a bed in it.

On that bed lay a middle-aged man, eyes tightly closed, with a breathing mask on his face, oblivious to the arrival of the three men.

Just from the looks of it, the man seemed to be in a critically ill condition, which made Ling Feng frown, "Could it be this serious?"

Lu Fei nodded, "Yes, he’s been unconscious for a while now."

Without a word, Ling Feng stepped forward and took the man’s hand, closing his eyes.

Lu Fei and Lu Zixuan watched with anticipation.

It seemed that the person in the sickbed was very important to them, so they were very eager for Ling Feng to cure him!

After a moment, Ling Feng opened his eyes and turned to Lu Fei, "Such severe internal injuries, it’s already quite remarkable that he has lasted until now!"

"Indeed."

Lu Fei nodded, "But medication can’t sustain him for too long, if a cure isn’t found within a month, I’m afraid he won’t make it."

"But, I didn’t say I could definitely cure him," Ling Feng said with a wry smile.

Lu Fei glanced at him, "I believe in Mr. Ling’s ability, once you’ve agreed, you definitely have a way!"

Ling Feng, "Alright, having been placed on such a high pedestal, I’ll have to show some real skill!"
