The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 440: First Setback

"Teacher!" Ling Feng laughed and took the opportunity to call out when he heard Chu Nan say this.

"Yeah!" Chu Nan’s face lit up, filled with immense satisfaction.

If at the beginning he had befriended Ling Feng just for the top-grade Spirit Stone, now it had turned into pure admiration for him, without any interest-driven ties.

While they were talking, Du Song knocked on the car door and then came up to say, "Boss, the password has been cracked!"

"Oh? How did it go?" Ling Feng quickly sat upright, full of anticipation!

"The number that called us is local; I’ve already asked my colleagues to trace it, and I believe we’ll soon be able to pinpoint the area where he is located!" Du Song said.

"Really? The call was disconnected; can you still trace it?" Ling Feng was astonished.

"Of course, but we can only determine the direction. It’s still quite difficult to actually find the person!" Du Song explained.

Ling Feng nodded, "That’s fine, but we better hurry. Otherwise, by the time we find it, it will be too late!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than Chu Nan suddenly said, "There’s no need to look any further; look over there!"

Ling Feng looked up to see someone waving frantically near the excavator, clearly having discovered something and signaling to them!

Seeing this, Ling Feng immediately leaped out of the car and dashed toward them at breakneck speed!

In a blink of an eye, he reached the scene and immediately saw a section of something black embedded in the mud, which looked quite large!

"Everyone, step back a bit; let me check it out!" Ling Feng said as he approached with his sword in hand.

The exposed black part was over a meter from the ground, and Ling Feng scraped it with the God Slayer Saber, clearing the surrounding mud.

As more of the black part became visible, he increasingly felt it was strange; the object resembled a water jar from his home.

Not only did it look similar, but the material was also similar.

In order not to damage its structure, Ling Feng used the back of the saber to touch it as gently as possible, and it emitted a hollow thud, indicating it was empty inside.

While he was clearing the mud, Chu Nan and the others also arrived. Seeing the situation, the old man immediately exclaimed with excitement, "We’ve finally found it!"

"Are you sure this is it?" Ling Feng asked, turning back to him.

Chu Nan nodded, "It should be!"

"Alright." Ling Feng quickened his digging, and soon unearthed a large jar!

It was an upside-down water jar buried in the ground. After cleaning the dirt around it, Ling Feng gave it a twist and lifted the jar open.

The contents inside now lay before everyone’s eyes, and on close inspection, Ling Feng realized they were exactly as Li Fei’er had described!

A black metal container that looked like a ding, or ritual vessel of some sort, a pitch-black piece of wood which seemed to be a Peach Wood Sword, and the rest were a few pieces of clothing.

Due to the passage of years and the dampness of the soil, the clothes had rotted beyond recognition.

However, the wooden sword didn’t seem to have rotted or shown any sign of mold, which was very strange.

Just as Ling Feng was bending down to examine it and was about to reach for it, he felt a darkness over his head and instinctively stepped back.

Then, he saw a black mass descending from the sky. It looked like a huge cage, which directly enveloped the pile of items, and then flew up instantly!

"Damn it!"

Ling Feng exclaimed, never expecting that someone would rob him using such a method!

The thief hadn’t come in person, but sent such a bizarre thing instead!

Without a second thought for breaking conventions, Ling Feng kicked off the ground and leapt into the air, chasing after the black object.

Unfortunately, the object was also very fast. He couldn’t catch up at all and soon landed back on the ground!

But in that instant, he had seen clearly that the black hood-like object was controlled by a thin silver thread!

"Son of a bitch!"

Ling Feng was thoroughly frenzied now. He had nearly secured his prize when this unexpected event occurred, so he immediately dashed in the direction that the object had flown off to after landing!

The incident was so sudden that Chu Nan and the others were dumbfounded, watching as the object was snatched away, and Ling Feng chased after it desperately. By the time they came to their senses, he had already covered nearly a hundred meters!

Du Song and He Bing followed behind, but they couldn’t keep up and were gradually left behind.

At this point, Ling Feng was truly panicked and ignored everything else behind him, focusing solely on retrieving what was stolen!

But strangely, the black object flew through the air like a kite, and even after several hundred meters, there was no sign of who was controlling it!

"What the hell, what kind of technology is this?"

Ling Feng kept chasing wildly while pondering in his heart. This method was simply too magical!

A few minutes later, he had chased deep into the mountain woods, but the black object still showed no signs of descending. Ling Feng secretly cursed his luck; if it kept flying, he would eventually lose track of it!

If that happened, it would be a disgrace when he returned. Everyone was counting on him to protect their belongings, only to have them stolen with such a tactic. He would be at a loss for words to face the elders back home!

With that thought, Ling Feng gritted his teeth, wishing he had wings so he could fly into the sky and yank that thing down!

Just then, he noticed that the object in the air had started to descend, as if it was about to land.

Seeing this, Ling Feng’s spirits lifted!

His body, which had been close to depleting its energy, suddenly found a burst of strength!

He leaped onto a giant rock in front of him and sprang high into the air, headed straight for the descending object.

Before he landed, he saw a figure standing on the ridge ahead, clad in black tight-fitting clothes, with a shapely figure. From the look of her bulging chest, it was actually a woman!

As he watched the flying object fall into her hands, Ling Feng shouted and charged toward her!

The other party didn’t seem surprised at all. Beneath her mask, her large eyes glanced at him, and then she scoffed, "Not bad at kung fu, but alas, you’re too late!"

As her voice faded, her figure flashed, and the woman disappeared from the spot in an instant!

Ling Feng: "..."

He was all too familiar with this scene; it was clearly a teleportation to another place!

"I’ll be damned..."

Ling Feng, filled with anger and nowhere to vent, happened upon a stone on the ground and kicked it away in frustration!

Now, he didn’t know if the woman had used something like a Space Ring or a technique from the Nine Heavens or some other exotic space. Regardless, she had left.

If the method she used was of the same principle as his own, there was still a chance for him, which was to wait here.

Teleportation points are fixed. Where she teleported from, she will appear again when returning to this world.

But Ling Feng also understood that even if he waited, if she saw him, she could just teleport away again, and he would still fail to catch her!

"I’ve really screwed up today!"

Thinking this, Ling Feng’s face fell into dismay!
