Chapter 421: I Call the Shots Here!
The people from the other side also got out of the car, easily more than ten of them, each with a look of brashness, strutting over confidently.
The leader was a middle-aged man with a face full of wrinkles, probably around fifty years old, short and wiry, with fierce eyes.
As their eyes met, Ling Feng hadn’t even spoken when Wang Laogen asked with a stern face, "Nice car, how much did it cost?"
"It didn’t cost anything, someone gave it to me, what about it?" Ling Feng asked with a smile.
"Kid, where are you from, you look a bit familiar?"
Seeing Ling Feng’s composure, Wang Laogen squinted his eyes and asked.
"My name is Ling Feng, from Shiliu Village!"
"Oh!"
Wang Laogen drew out the sound, with a look of sudden realization: "I heard that a nouveau riche appeared in Shiliu Village recently, building this and constructing that, it turns out to be you!"
"That’s right, I didn’t expect that I’ve become quite the celebrity now!" Ling Feng said with a wry smile.
Giving him a once over, Wang Laogen asked with a cold face, "Your Shiliu Village is more than ten miles away from our Shahe Village. What are you doing here, and what’s with those women?"
"If I say I was just giving them a lift back to make a bit of gas money, would you believe me?" Ling Feng asked with a smile.
"Kid, you might not have heard of my name, Wang Laogen. I call the shots in Shahe Village, and no one has dared to speak to me with such a cheeky tone!" Wang Laogen said in a cold voice.
He had figured it out. Ling Feng’s grinning demeanor and provocative words clearly indicated he was here to stir up trouble!
"So imposing, I’m really scared now. So can I leave now or not?" Ling Feng asked.
"Come and go as you please? Tell me, what’s the deal with these women, why are they with you, are you behind them going to town to accuse me?"
Wang Laogen said fiercely, pointing at Ling Feng, who was a head taller than him, and asked loudly.
"He just happened to be passing by and gave us a ride, it has nothing to do with him!"
Unexpectedly, Zhang Jinhua actually stood up and said loudly.
"Shut up, it’s not your turn to speak here, I’ll deal with you later!" Wang Laogen glared at Zhang Jinhua.
Ling Feng turned to look at her, wondering what was on her mind, then turned back to Wang Laogen and said, "Did you hear that? They said it has nothing to do with me, are you still not letting me go?"
"You can’t leave!"
Wang Laogen narrowed his eyes and paused, "Unless..."
His eyes flickered, seemingly contemplating something. Ling Feng became curious, thinking to himself was he trying to rob me now? Curiosity piqued, he asked, "Unless what?"
"Unless you leave the car and let your Village Chief come to fetch it!"
Wang Laogen let out a sly chuckle, his eyes revealing a hint of lasciviousness!
"You mean Li Shiyun?"
Ling Feng was taken aback, his expression gradually turning cold.
"That’s right, that little lady is too delightful, I only got to glance at her twice during the meeting in town, I didn’t get enough of a look!" Wang Laogen was beaming with pleasure as if he was still savoring the memory, and Ling Feng nearly acted out in anger!
"What if I say no?" Ling Feng asked coldly.
"No?"
Wang Laogen was taken aback, then squinted his eyes, his face taking on a ferocious look, "Then you might as well not leave today, or at least, not leave in one piece!"
With his words, the dozen or so men behind him immediately closed in!
Ling Feng chuckled inwardly. Another group of fools, thinking to bully me?
"That’ll teach you how to be human!"
Just as he thought this, before he had the chance to act, Lin Xue hurriedly ran over from a distance.
Her car had been blocked by that light truck, so she couldn’t drive it over and had to run instead.
Seeing Ling Feng surrounded by a crowd, she immediately shouted, "Stop it, what are you doing!"
Her clear voice caught the attention of Wang Laogen and the others. The old man turned his head for a glance and instantly, his eyes lit up!
He had long heard that a beautiful police officer had been assigned to their police station but never had the time to see her. Seeing her in uniform today, he knew immediately who she was!
With a chuckle, Wang Laogen turned back and stopped paying attention to Ling Feng. He walked over to Lin Xue and smiled, "Are you Officer Lin?"
"Are you Wang Laogen?" Lin Xue asked.
"That’s me. What brings Officer Lin to our village? Is there something you need?" Wang Laogen said with a smile, eyeing her up and down as if his gaze could pierce through her uniform.
Seeing his lecherous demeanor, Lin Xue frowned and said with a look of disgust, "I just came to take a look. Why do you have so many people here? Are you planning to fight?"
"Fight? Of course not. These are all my friends. We were about to have drinks together. Officer Lin, you’ve come a long way. Why don’t you join us?" Wang Laogen asked with a smile.
"No need, I’ve got some things to take care of. You go about your business!"
Lin Xue said and without paying any more attention to the old man, walked towards Ling Feng.
Wang Laogen looked back and, seeing the two of them standing together, seemed to understand something. So he asked, "Officer Lin, what exactly brings you to our village?"
"I’m here to ask people about some things, don’t worry about it," Lin Xue replied.
"How could I not? Tell me who you’re looking for, and I’ll take you there," Wang Laogen said, walking over with a sly grin.
Ling Feng had already had enough of his sleazy manner and couldn’t help but say coldly, "Thanks for the offer, but it’s not needed!"
After speaking, he took Lin Xue’s hand and then addressed Zhang Jinhua and the others, "You all go home. Lin Xue and I will come to find you later."
The women were already very nervous, but seeing the situation, and that Wang Laogen seemed somewhat intimidated by Lin Xue and had stopped his bluster, they quickly turned and walked away.
To their surprise, Wang Laogen spoke up just then, "Did I say you could leave? Stop them!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than the dozen or so men immediately rushed forward, blocking the path of Zhang Jinhua and the others.
Seeing this, Lin Xue turned and asked, "Wang Laogen, what are you doing? How can you restrict the villagers’ freedom like this?"
Wang Laogen chuckled, "These women have too long a tongue; it’s time to teach them a lesson!"

Lin Xue’s voice rose an octave, "You’re the village chief, how can you do this?"
"Officer Lin, you’d better stay out of this, or it won’t end well for you!"
Wang Laogen sneered before saying, "You haven’t been here long and aren’t familiar with the local situation, right? Over time, you’ll come to understand. In Shahe Village, my word is law!"
After that, he ignored Lin Xue and ordered the others, "Drag these women back and give them a proper lesson, make them learn!"

As soon as his words fell, the faces of Zhang Jinhua and the others turned deathly pale, thinking they were in for it.
Then, a crisp sound echoed, and everyone turned to look, all stunned.
