He clapped his hands afterwards, and then a projection, similar to the one that had been used during the trials at the supreme cities, appeared.

Not just within the hall..

Every screen within the eastern domain lit up with the projection of the final phase of the trials...

I appeared within an expansive forest..

Huge ancient trees towering to the skies, almost as if wanting to touch the heavens..

Before I could right myself, get over the shock I was feeling and come up with a sane course of action, Valen’s voice sounded from the sky..

"The final phase of the trials this time around are divided into two different parts"..

I pushed away every distracting thoughts, focusing on the rules of engagement..

"The first part happens within this forest, and it’s relatively simple..."

"You’re to reach the center of the forest..."

"Once you’ve made your way to the center, the first part of the final phase will officially be over, as for what comes next, you’ll be notified when you get there"

I took in a deep breath, steadying myself...

"The forest you find yourself in, is part of a secret realm belonging to the academy, the weakest creatures within are B-rank..

you’ve all been given a token, it will record your scores from the kills you make, beasts and humans alike..."

That Made me pause..

"Killing is allowed..." my eyes sharpened..

this changes things. If killing and robbing was allowed, that’d make this test more bloody than it initially would have been..

"Once you kill a candidate, their token becomes yours and so their points and kills as well.."

"The first one thousand candidates to make it to the center qualify for the next round, those who do not will be disqualified.."

My thoughts stilled..

Only one thousand out of a staggering ten thousand participants..

Over 90% will be eliminated..

"Damn..that’s brutal.."

"The tests last for 24 hours"

His voice was as indifferent as it had always been...

"And it begins....NOW!!"

I breathed slowly, not in any rush to get started..

There was a full 24 hours to get my shit together, and boy, were there a lot of things I needed to get together..

Before I can get to any wrecking, I needed to, for the peace of my mind, confirm if the person I saw was indeed the person I was thinking about, and if it were so, get myself some well deserved answers..

Settling my thoughts, I spread my perception, letting it bleed into the atmosphere of the entire secret realm..

The Chaos Energy that had just begun rising rapidly began draining just as fast...

But I didn’t relent, I could afford it this time around and so, I let my perception spread until it covered the entirety of the secret realm.

I could see everything going on, every single move the candidates made, those hiding, seeking the fisherman’s benefit, the arrogant young masters that didn’t place the entire competition in their eyes and even some of those who’d made my instincts tingle earlier, particularly a black haired young man that was surrounded by an army of undead, yes, undead.

"A freaking necromancer huh?"..

Sadly these guys weren’t my focus, not now at least, my attention finally zoomed in on an inconspicuous cave, a familiar cold aura brushing my senses..

"Got you.." I smiled and then..

I was gone...

"Shit!!!!!" A colossal ice spike slammed into a cavern wall with devastating force...

A beautiful blue haired young woman was currently throwing a tantrum as she assaulted an innocent cavern wall...

"Why is he here???" Another deafening crash shook the entire cave..

"He should only have an E-rank talent, why and how is that idiot here goddamn it..."

Her beautiful face twisted into an expression of frustration and worry as another spike, larger than all the rest, slammed into the cavern, piercing clean through as it went to decimate the forest beyond....

"Ouch, an idiot, and here I thought you’d be happy to actually see me, Cara.."

Hearing that familiar, cocky voice from behind her, Cara’s expression froze in shock, her body swiveled as she turned to meet the source of her frustrations and worry..

"Dante..."

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again..

I thought I’d gotten over her, but each time I see her, it’s like she gets more and more beautiful..

Her icy blue eyes that radiated nothing but pure frustration due to some unknown reasons, yet remained utterly stunning..

A head of ocean-blue hair that fell like gentle waves down her back, framing a face of absolute perfection, with symmetrical details that would only be possible if a god of creation had taken out the most of his life to carve out.

The pure-white mage’s robe she wore, something that should’ve likely represented purity or something else, was doing an absolutely horrible job with the way it hugged her devastating figure, accentuating her full massive breasts, even from the front I could see the delectable swell of her ass..

For a moment I stood stunned..

"Dante..."

Her cold voice brought me back from my daydreams..

"Cara, happy to see me?"

"What do you want?" She hissed, frustration coloring her voice..

"Straight to the point then, eyy? Alright.. I want answers.." sensing the frustration spilling off of her, I decided not to waste my time either..

"What answers could I possibly give trash like you?" She replied Coldly..

"You keep trying to sound harsh, yet all I hear is pain, that piece of trash isn’t here to distract us anymore, so tell me.. what are you hiding from me.. or rather, what are you hiding me from?".

I could see the brief flash of shock that crossed her face the moment my last words were spoken..

Seems I was right after all..

"Acting the martyr doesn’t suit you, so spill it" I pressed..

She was clearly in conflict for the briefest moment before her eyes hardened, and then..

Various ice spikes appeared all around us..

"Leave!!" Her cold voice made the air freeze, the temperature dropping fast..

"You’ll have to make me" I was having none of it, I was going to get my answers here and now..

"Don’t force me" she threatened..

"Try me.." I smirked..

A massive spear of ice launched straight at me before I could get my words out..

Crassshhhhhhh!!!!!!!

The projectile met a furious resistance the moment it got within 5 meters of me..

<Sword field> doing its job by dividing the projectile into an innumerable number of pieces..

"You’ll have to try harder than that".

Her eyes hardened the moment my words registered..

The temperature dropping even further, each breath coming out in icy mist..

And then..

<Eternal World Of Ice> her cold voice echoed from all over the cavern..

A terrifying chill engulfing the entire area, everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, froze..

The smirk on my face not even being given the chance to turn to horrified shock as I froze solid within a blink...

"Sorry Dante.. you forced my...."

She couldn’t finish her words, why?

"Atmospheric Erasure"..

The Freezing cold, the chilly domain, everything vanished even faster than it appeared..

I didn’t give her time to feel shocked, the moment I freed myself, I started moving..

She snapped out of her shock as she launched another spike at me...

"Futile" it got shredded to bits..

A volley of ice weapons followed soon after..

"You should’ve leaned by now" they vanished the moment they got within five meters of me..

Every move she pulled or tried to pull was either stopped, erased, or just outright denied from taking effect..

"Shit..." she took continuous steps back as she futilely tried to prevent my slow yet steady advance...

Thud...

Until eventually, she met a dead end..

"Damn it..." before she could make any more moves, I’d already closed the distance...

My chest pressing unto her firmly, pinning her against the cavern walls..

"Ready to talk?..."

"Screw you Dante.."

"That’s my girl..."

"Don’t call me that.."

She struggled in vain to get free, until eventually her movements slowed...

"Damn it.. D.. just what do you want from me?" Her voice was lower now, breaking...

"I just want the truth, snow... what are you hiding me from.." I answered, voice softer than I’d expected..

"I can’t... I can’t.. why couldn’t you just follow the script D..." she replied, voice on the verge of tears..

I reached my hand out, lifting her chin until her blues eyes were locked unto mine..

"I wouldn’t be Dante if I did, now would I?" I grinned..

"Pft..." that earned a little chuckle...

"There’s my girl.. soo..." I pressed once more...

I could see the struggle in her eyes, the turmoil between sticking to her flawed act of martyrdom or just giving in to what she was currently feeling..

"Look.. snow...humph" a pair of cold, soft lips captured mine before I could get anymore words out...

My eyes widened in surprise before I leaned into it...

We separated a few seconds later as all I could see in her eyes was pure conviction..

Yet the words that came out her mouth threw me a curveball..

"Fuck me..."

"Wha..what?" I was so stunned by her words that I stuttered..

"I said Fuck Me... NOW!!!!"
