Before you start reading:

To avoid overloading the main story with details and side stories that aren’t essential to the plot, I decided to create a series of volumes called Backstory.

They’re essentially spin-offs — not required to follow the main story, but meant to expand the lore and the worldbuilding.

Backstory Chapters will be marked with a ’B’ in the title for easy identification.

This won’t affect the release of the main story Chapters.

Each day’s main Chapter will simply be accompanied by a spin-off Chapter.

Ueda, Japan — twenty-six years before the beginning of the main events.

"This month together has been fun, really. But... well, I’m sorry to say this, but you were just a way for me to make my ex jealous. When he saw me replace him so quickly with someone like you, he came crawling back. You’re a good guy, Aoshi Toya — I mean that. I’m sure you’ll find a good girl someday — but unfortunately for you, that girl isn’t me. Bye."

Those words have been echoing in Aoshi’s head for over an hour now, like a broken record.

Aoshi Toya, nineteen, staggers through the back alleys of Ueda, a quiet town in Nagano Prefecture.

He drags along a large bouquet of roses — a gift for his now ex-girlfriend for their one-month anniversary.

"Why does life have to suck this much... why?!" Aoshi mutters, kicking an empty can.

"My sweet Miori... not even a lifetime would be enough to fill the void she left in my heart! And what’s worse is... how the hell am I supposed to face my friends tomorrow after spending an entire month bragging about dating a bombshell like Miori Yukinaga...?"

He looks up at the night sky and lets out a long sigh.

"I was such an idiot to think someone like her — the most admired and desired girl in the entire university — could ever fall for a complete nobody like me. Well... it was nice while it lasted. But now it’s time to come back down to earth."

Aoshi turns right onto the main street, and...

"I didn’t think anyone could be more shameless than incubi, but humans have completely outdone them! One look — one stupid look — and they already had their underwear soaked! Unbelievable..." Eliss grumbles as she strolls lazily down the main street of Ueda.

Eliss Narkhalis, twenty, is one of the princesses of the Kingdom of Ravessia — and a succubus of striking beauty, with wavy blonde hair and a pink lock falling over one eye.

But what is a succubus princess doing wandering through Ueda in the middle of the night?

Well... to find out, we need to go back a few hours.

Kingdom of Ravessia, Elyndra — royal palace. Twelve hours earlier.

"Ugh... being the sexiest succubus in the entire kingdom is such a pain! All I have to do is snap my fingers and there’s a line outside my room. It takes all the thrill out of the hunt — it’s practically a curse! Don’t you agree, Raelor?" Eliss grumbles, lying on her back across the enormous canopy bed at the center of her vast bedroom.

One wall is entirely covered by a mirror, while the other three are lined with rows of wardrobes overflowing with clothes.

She’s wearing a light, sheer nightgown, with nothing underneath but her panties.

She idly swings her long, smooth legs over the edge of the mattress, her red-polished feet drifting right in front of Raelor as he stands before her.

"Yes, truly a tragedy. Must be hard to live with such a burden," Raelor replies, his tone as serious as it is sarcastic.

Raelor Valraen, the same age as Eliss, has been her bodyguard for three years now. He’s a particularly striking incubus — tall, with long, neatly kept black hair and a toned, athletic build. Two meters of pure muscle.

"Aaaah... thank goodness at least you understand my suffering! After all, irresistibly charming demons like us just get each other," Eliss comments — clearly missing his sarcasm.

Suddenly, something sparks in her mind and she jumps off the bed.

"Raelor, I just had an incredible idea! If there’s no one in this world who can give me the thrill of the hunt, I’ll use my father’s portal and go to Earth!"

A mischievous grin spreads across her face as she rubs her hands together.

"I’ve never been there, but they say there are some really, really sexy humans! I wonder if they’ll be able to resist me for more than a second — or if they’ll fall at my feet just like incubi. Well, there’s only one way to find out!"

Eliss quickly grabs a suitcase, then throws open one of her large wardrobes and starts pulling out clothes one after another, tossing them inside.

"That old drunk of a father of mine is probably already asleep — perfect timing to sneak into that room and use the portal!"

Eliss slips off her nightgown, leaving herself in nothing but her panties under Raelor’s impassive gaze. Then she throws on the sexiest dress she owns and rushes out of the bedroom, carrying the heavy suitcase as if it weighed nothing.

She runs through the long corridors of the royal fortress, with Raelor close behind, trying in vain to stop her.

At last, she reaches a vast hall where, right at the center, stands one of the portals connecting Elyndra and Earth.

It resembles a black hole, distorting space-time to the point of linking with another universe — a point of contact between the two.

"So, my dear Raelor, where exactly does this portal lead on Earth?"

"To a country humans call Japan. The other side of the portal is under strict surveillance by the Monster Slayers, but if you just tell them you’re a princess visiting for pleasure, they shouldn’t give you too much trouble."

"If it’s that simple, I don’t understand why you keep trying to convince me not to go."

"When your father finds out what you’ve done, he’ll completely lose it — he’ll ground you for at least fifty years! And besides, you’re not ready for a trip like this! Even if you’re already twenty, your magic is still too unstable — you’ll just end up getting yourself into trouble! Not to mention—"

But before Raelor can finish, Eliss takes a running start and jumps straight into the portal.

"—not to mention that once you use the portal, you’ll have to wait months before you can use it again..."

And now, after twelve endless hours of pure disappointment, Eliss drags herself along the main street of Ueda, looking completely dejected.

She turns into a side alley to her left — and...
