Chapter 320 - Summoning Beasts
Owen’s eyes lit up first.
’’Finally!’’ he shouted excitedly.
He tossed his sledgehammer high into the air before slamming his hands together.
Huge rocks slammed into his body one after another.
But the scorpion wouldn’t just let that happen.
Both its pincers shot straight towards Owen, planning to trap him completely.
’’Continue!’’ Lyra shouted, dashing forward.
Iris followed closely behind her, metallic mana already gathering around her hands.
In an instant, a large plant grew out of the ground on one side, while a large metal wall rose on the other.
BOOOOM!
The scorpion’s pincers slammed into them simultaneously.
For a moment, silence fell across the battlefield.
SCREEECH!
It let out an angry screech as deep purple poison appeared around its pincers.
Within moments, it broke through both walls, continuing straight for Owen.
But it was already too late.
’’Thank you, ladies!’’ Owen shouted as he caught his sledgehammer.
By now, he’d grown into a three-story-tall, flaming rock giant.
In just seconds, Owen had gone from looking tiny in front of the massive scorpion to reaching nearly half its size!
’’My turn now!’’ he shouted excitedly.
As the two pincers went towards him, flames erupted through the cracks that ran across his body.
Both his hands grew in size instantly, easily as big as the scorpion’s pincers.
BANG!
Owen caught both pincers at the same time.
His arms were forced back instantly, a shock traveling through his entire body.
’’Ugh!’’
His feet rapidly began sliding back.
But Owen was just as fast, unwilling to give up.
Large earth walls began appearing behind his legs one after another, slowing him to a halt.
’’This fucker is strong!’’ he cursed through gritted teeth.
SCREEEECH!
The scorpion pushed down even harder.
Its enormous body slowly rose from the sand as its legs finally became visible underneath.
’’Then stop trying to beat it alone, you dumbass!’’ Lyra shouted angrily.
Before Owen could even respond, a large light beam shot past his body.
BOOM!
The beam slammed into the scorpion’s face head-on.
It staggered back, immediately releasing the pressure on Owen.
But... the attack had barely left a wound on its scales.
’’Damn,’’ Jim muttered. ’’That was one of my strongest silver core attacks...’’
Theo had seen it too.
’Feng was right,’ he thought. ’It’s definitely around the same strength as those vultures.’
But that wasn’t the only thing he’d been concentrating on.
Thin water droplets had slowly spread through the area around them, seeping deep into the ground.
Feng’s method of sensing the surroundings kept playing through his mind.
The Wind Kirin’s ability to sense through wind, allowing it to detect even minor disturbances, was something truly unique.
’But why wouldn’t I be able to do the same with my water?’
It wasn’t like it was anything new to him.
Whenever he used the water body ability, his senses were literally divided amongst each droplet.
’Then this should work too!’
Theo concentrated even deeper, splitting his attention amongst all the water drops.
As they sank underground, he slowly began feeling something.
’It’s working!’
But as they sank deeper, his excitement slowly began vanishing.
Dozens more large bodies were buried beneath the desert.
’More scorpions...’ he thought. ’Did we land in their breeding grounds???’
Fortunately, most were a lot smaller compared to the monster in front of them.
And they weren’t that close either, likely due to the hierarchy.
Regardless, Theo stopped concentrating on the water.
They were already making an enormous amount of noise fighting this thing.
The longer they stayed here, the higher the chance of waking everything else up.
’’Everyone!’’ he shouted loudly. ’’Summon your contracted beasts! We’re taking this thing down as quickly as possible!’’
Jim, Lyra and Iris instantly turned towards him.
For a split second, they looked at the outsiders in their group.
Just then, Owen’s voice rang out across the battlefield.
’’All of them?’’
’’Yes!’’ Theo replied, an emerald mass appearing by his side. ’’There are dozens more scorpions buried around!’’
That was all Jim needed to hear.
’’Fuck it then!’’ he shouted.
He jumped away from the scorpion as a bright yellowish mass appeared by his side.
WHOOSH!
A beautiful, large white stag with crystal antlers walked out.
Owen, Lyra and Iris jumped back from the creature at the same time.
Different colored masses appeared beside them, summoning their creatures one after another.
The B-rank scorpion wasn’t just going to let that happen.
SCREEECH!
Hundreds of huge poison darts formed around its stinger.
It shot them away the instant they were fully formed, almost like a Gatling gun.
WHOOSH!
Before the first poison darts even reached them, an emerald green wind blasted against them.
The entire wave was knocked off course instantly.
Some buried themselves deep into the sand, while others flew hundreds of feet away.
Theo glanced up with a smile.
Feng was already floating above him in his larger form.
’’Perfect timing,’’ he said, jumping up.
Meanwhile, the other creatures had fully appeared as well.
ROOOAR!
Owen’s Bone Dragon shot up into the sky, already releasing a huge wave of green fire.
Beside Iris, a large Argent Griffin shook its silver feathers before shooting into the air.
Finally, countless roots spread across the sand as Lyra’s Ancient Dryad appeared.
Meanwhile, Nadia, Isabelle and Lucienne stared at the scene with wide eyes.
’’What the hell...’’
They already knew that Theo and Owen somehow had summons.
But now, Iris, Jim and even Lyra showed new creatures.
Not to mention, the fight hadn’t even gone on for a full minute yet!
Before any of them had snapped out of their shock, Theo’s voice rang out.
’’Don’t give it any time to breathe!’’
Everyone from his group reacted instantly.
WHOOSH!
Owen’s skeletal dragon shot through the air.
Before the scorpion could react, it bit down on its tail, dragging it down into the sand instantly.
At the exact same time, huge roots shot up from underneath it.
Lyra’s Ancient Dryad raised both hands as dozens of thick vines wrapped around the scorpion’s legs.
SCREEECH!
The roots held out for barely a second.
Then the scorpion pulled itself free again.
But that was enough.
Owen immediately appeared in front of it.
His rock sledgehammer had grown immensely, with huge flames running through the cracks.
BOOOOM!
It smashed straight into the creature’s skull.
At the same time, Iris and her Argent Griffin had formed a huge metal structure around the scorpion’s tail.
Even Jim and it’s stag had frozen one of its pincers with white, almost crystal-like ice.
Watching everything happen, Isabelle slowly lowered the Light spell she’d been preparing.
’How the hell am I supposed to join this?’
