My Magical Girl System

Chapter 272: The Underworld Arena III

The crowd roared as Andrey stepped into the arena, his formal attire crisp and immaculate—a stark contrast to the bloodstained sand beneath his feet. The cheers were deafening, a wall of sound that pressed against him from all sides. The lights were harsh, casting long shadows across the ring, and the scent of sweat and anticipation hung thick in the air.

Morgana stood at the edge of the arena, her red eyes fixed on him, her voice carrying through the mana link. "Master... be careful."

Andrey’s gaze remained fixed on the opposite end of the arena, where a massive figure was emerging from the shadows. His voice was calm, steady. "I’ll win. Just wait."

The announcer’s voice boomed through the speakers, echoing off the walls. "Ladies and gentlemen! We apologize for the sudden cancellation of tonight’s main event—but we have something far more exciting in store for you tonight!"

The crowd’s roar swelled, a chaotic wave of hunger and anticipation. "A challenger has stepped forward to face our undefeated champion—a bloodthirsty beast, a monster of the ring! The one, the only—MORROW!!!!!!!"

The lights shifted, illuminating a figure that seemed to absorb the light itself. He was massive, his body a canvas of scars and old wounds, his muscles coiled with raw, untamed power. His black hair was long and wild, falling across a face that held no spark of life. His eyes were dead—hollow, empty, the eyes of a man who had long since stopped feeling.

The crowd’s cheers reached a fever pitch, hungry for the violence they knew was coming.

The announcer’s voice boomed once more, carrying a note of theatrical excitement. "And his challenger tonight—a man who was once nothing more than a humble office worker! A man with ambition and a dream to become the undefeated! The Rookie Manager!!!!!!"

The crowd’s reaction was a mix of laughter, cheers, and scattered jeers. Andrey’s expression didn’t change. He stepped forward, his heels clicking against the stone, and raised his gaze to meet Morrow’s dead eyes.

The roar of the crowd swelled, a chaotic tide of voices screaming for blood. From the stands, a man’s voice cut through, "CRUSH HIM, MORROW! DESTROY THAT CORPORATE SLAVE!"

Another joined in, sharp and vicious—"TEAR HIM APART! MAKE HIM SCREAM!"

A third voice, older, rougher—"I’M BETTING ON YOU, MORROW! KILL HIM!"

The words crashed against Andrey like waves, but he stood motionless at the center of the arena, his expression calm, his breathing steady. His hands moved with deliberate slowness, reaching up to loosen the knot of his tie. He pulled it free, the silk sliding through his fingers, and began to wrap it around his right hand, layer by layer, until his knuckles were covered in a makeshift binding.

Morrow’s dead eyes tracked the motion. A low, rumbling voice emerged from his scarred throat. "It’s been a long time since I’ve faced a fighter as strong as you."

Andrey’s gaze met his, calm and unflinching. "You’re more perceptive than you look."

Morrow’s lips curled into something that wasn’t quite a smile. "I’ve fought many opponents. I can tell when someone is strong." His aura began to shift—a palpable weight that pressed against the air, making the dust on the arena floor tremble. The crowd’s cheers grew louder, feeding off the tension.

Morrow’s voice dropped, carrying an edge of cold finality. "And I destroyed them all."

Andrey finished wrapping his tie, flexing his fingers to test the tightness. "Your name suits you. You truly are undefeated."

He took a step forward, his voice steady, carrying across the arena. "Let’s see if that record holds tonight."

Morrow’s eyes flickered—a hint of amusement. He rolled his shoulders, the muscles shifting beneath his scarred skin, and settled into a low, grounded stance.

The announcer’s voice boomed through the speakers, carrying a note of theatrical excitement. "Let the match BEGIN!"

Morrow moved first.

His massive frame launched forward with terrifying speed—far faster than a man his size had any right to be. The ground trembled beneath his weight as he closed the distance in an instant, his fist swinging in a wide, devastating arc aimed at Andrey’s head.

Andrey’s body reacted on instinct. He ducked, the wind of the punch grazing his hair, and pivoted to the side.

’Morrow. An S-rank fighter feared throughout the underground circuit. His skill, Berserk—it makes him nearly unstoppable. The more threatened he feels, the stronger he becomes. I can’t afford to let this drag out.’

Morrow didn’t give him time to recover. He lunged again, this time with a leap that brought his knee toward Andrey’s chest. Andrey raised his arms to block, but the impact sent him skidding backward, his heels carving trenches in the sand.

The crowd roared, a wave of savage approval washing over the arena. They were hungry for more—for blood, for a knockout, for the spectacle they had paid to see.

Andrey straightened, adjusting his cracked glasses with a steady hand. "That woman... she’s put me up against something troublesome."

From the elevated VIP section, Luna watched with sharp, amused eyes. She lounged on her human seat, one leg crossed over the other, her tail swaying lazily behind her. She glanced at Morgana, who stood rigid beside her.

"He’s nothing special," Luna said, her voice light and dismissive. "I was hoping for more entertainment."

Morgana’s red eyes remained fixed on the arena below. Her voice was calm, measured, carrying an edge of quiet confidence. "Don’t be so quick to judge, Luna. My Master isn’t someone you can measure in a single exchange."

Luna’s lips curved into a faint, mocking smile. "Then let’s watch your Master die."

Below, Andrey straightened, rolling his shoulder to test the damage. His Ki senses stretched outward, probing Morrow’s movements, the weight of his aura, the rhythm of his breathing. He could feel the raw power coiled in the fighter’s body, a force that was barely contained, waiting to be unleashed.

Morrow’s dead eyes gleamed with a cold, predatory light. "You’re still standing. Good. It would have been a waste if you died so quickly."

Andrey’s voice was steady, measured. "I don’t plan on dying tonight."

Morrow lunged again, faster this time. His fist arced toward Andrey’s head, but Andrey was already moving, his body shifting to the side as the blow passed inches from his face. He countered, his knee driving into Morrow’s side, the impact sending a shockwave through the larger man’s body.

Morrow’s dead eyes flickered. He stumbled back, a low, surprised grunt escaping his throat.

The crowd’s roar shifted—a mix of shock and eager anticipation. A voice from the stands shouted, "He landed a hit!"

Another voice joined in. "This is getting interesting!"
