The Lady's Butler: I Reincarnated To Serve The Villainess

Chapter 230: P.D.A

"I wonder how much distrust is sown amongst them now."

It had been a few days after Adrian’s deal with the prince, and while most had chosen to return to their various dukedoms or the capital, the butler had to stay back.

After all, he had a deal with the Grand Duke of the South.

Since her dear butler stayed, there was no way his Lady would return on her own, especially since she had witnessed someone kidnapping him right before her eyes.

Ever since she woke up after that incident, she never truly let her butler out of her sight, even when Adrian left to meet Ignis.

She had, in every sense, become a stalker, and Adrian was enjoying every bit of it.

Hell, she even sleeps by his side now, so there was no way he wouldn’t consider this a win.

Currently, the two were walking hand in hand through the streets of the South, and Renelle was looking at the smile on her butler’s face.

Adrian had been like this since he took revenge on her behalf, and that filled her with happiness.

Yes, she hated the Prince, and yes, she had planned to take her revenge. But Adrian had carried it out for her, and the fact that he was genuinely happy she no longer had to bear that burden only made her like him even more.

If that was even possible at this point.

There was also the new fact she had learnt about him.... He was quite petty.

Apparently, he had sown some sort of misunderstanding between the Prince and his saintess.

Normally, a simple conversation would fix it, but according to her dear butler, that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon.

After all, he claimed that unnecessary drama was a necessary trope in almost every romance fiction.

He claimed it was a staple in such stories.

Which made her wonder, "Adrian?"

"Yes, my lady?" Adrian turned towards her.

"Where exactly did you learn that unnecessary drama was a necessary trope in romance fiction?" She asked.

"Reading," her butler answered, "I was searching for a story like yours, so I ended up reading a lot of romance manhwas."

"Is that so?" Renelle muttered, and Adrian could very clearly sense that something was wrong.

"Is something wrong, my lady?" He asked, and she looked back up at him.

"You searched for other books like mine, right?" Renelle asked, confusing him a bit.

"Yes," still, he nodded to the question.

"Then does that mean there’s a chance you would’ve fallen for a different character?" She finally asked, looking directly into his eyes.

Adrian narrowed his eyes, walked closer to her, and leaned a bit forward, his forehead touching hers, "My lady."

"Hmm?"

"Do you really think that’s possible?" He asked.

Renelle didn’t respond; instead, she just continued looking into his eyes. Of course, she knew it wasn’t; she was just curious about how he’d reassure her.

And assure her he did.

Seeing that she wasn’t responding, Adrian leaned closer and said, "Then I guess I’ll just have to show you."

Renelle’s eyes went wide as Adrian captured her lips with his.

Her entire face turned red at his action, which was completely unexpected.

Besides, she had expected him to say something reassuring or perhaps bombard her with his obsession, but no.

He went for a kiss.

Since the kiss had caught her completely off guard, she was unprepared for when he actually filled her brain with his obsession, completely drowning her.

If she had even the slightest bit of doubt, it had all been erased now.

The kiss lasted for a while before Adrian finally pulled back, observing her expression with a small smile on his face.

He wished he had that picture magic tool with him at this very moment, especially given how red her face was.

It took Renelle a while to come out of her daze, and she finally noticed the grin on his face as he asked, "Does that answer your question, my lady?"

"Y-you," she stuttered out, completely embarrassed.

Usually, she’d have her defenses activated to protect her from his teasing, but this had caught her so off guard that she couldn’t help being surprised.

There was also the fact that they were in public, which made it even more embarrassing when the onlookers started clapping.

She just wished the ground would swallow her at this very moment.

"I’ll get my payback for this," Renelle whispered, causing the damned butler to chuckle.

"I look forward to it," he said.

Words that he’d probably regret, but for now, he was winning, and he would properly bask in that win.

"Let’s go?" He said as he stood up straight and offered her his hand, and as embarrassed as she currently was, she still took it.

Adrian led her away from the cheering crowd and towards their next spot on the date,

A clothing store.

Renelle was quite confused when they stopped in front of one of the clothing stores and turned towards her butler.

"You came here without me the last time," Adrian explained, "so I’d like to see how my lady looks in the South’s fashion."

A new wave of embarrassment hit her as she immediately turned around, "No way!"

She started walking away from her butler as fast as she could, but his next set of words made her completely freeze.

"I’ll also be trying different clothes," Adrian said with a smile on his face as he watched her go.

The next second, Renelle was suddenly at the door of the clothing store.

Her speed would make one wonder whether she was contracted to a wind or lightning spirit.

"What are you waiting for?" She turned back to him, ignoring the smile on his face, "We’ve got clothes to try."

"Coming, my lady," Adrian said with a chuckle as he walked towards her.

He was certain that his bait would work, but he never expected it to work this well.

Perhaps he should use such techniques more.
