The Lady's Butler: I Reincarnated To Serve The Villainess

Chapter 64: Adrian Vs Tess [Bonus - ]

The other spars were mostly uninteresting, save for the Saintess and another student who she had quickly overwhelmed.

Despite her gentle demeanor, Noelle was known as the Saintess for a reason...and that reason being that she was loved by spirits.

Unlike the large majority of spirit mages, she could contract multiple spirits at a time making her the most unpredictable variable at the academy.

Fortunately, she wasn’t a violent or power hungry person.

After her spar, most other students were either evenly matched or completely overwhelmed by their opponents.

But as the spars drew to a close, anticipation started rising as they grew curious about the student selected by the combat instructor herself.

Most had seen how easily he had moved the crowd that had formed before their classroom door, so they were curious about what he could actually do in a fight.

"Winner, Robin Stale," Tess announced the winner of the final spar between the students as the two got off the platform.

She then turned towards Adrian who was still standing by Renelle’s side and said, "you’re up, glasses."

Without hesitation, Adrian followed her up the platform and the barrier immediately sealed them in.

[Be sure to not lose too badly my dear butler,] Renelle’s voice appeared in his head, as she had figured out how he did it earlier, [after all, it wouldn’t look good on you.]

[As you wish my lady.] He answered and turned to his opponent.

Tess was also calmly looking at him as if curious about something, but she chose to say about said curiosity.

Instead, she said "you’re allowed to go all out."

Adrian nodded and readied himself.

All the other students around them went completely silent as they waited for the spar to begin.

Lucian’s attention was fully on Adrian.

The aura that Butler had released that day was terrifying, so he wanted to see exactly how strong this butler was.

"Begin," Tess said, and before Adrian could react, her palm was already in front of his face and he was falling backwards.

BOOM!

The platform shook as he fully reached the ground, creating a crater below...or at least that’s what it looked like.

But the next second, Tess let out a chuckle as she raised her hand just in time to block a kick aimed at her head before retaliating with a blast of lightning.

This caused her attacker to melt into a dark puddle.

"The headmistress was right," she said, "you truly are an interesting one."

She stood up straight as looked opposite her, noticing the Adrian was standing there with a calm expression on his face.

The moment he noticed her palm before his face, he immediately used shadow swap, replacing himself with a clone, and he used another to immediately attack back.

Unfortunately, Tess was too fast to be caught off guard.

"Since I’m of a much higher rank then you, it’ll be considered your win if you manage to land a clean blow," she spoke again before launching herself towards him.

She tried grabbing a hold of his uniform, but again, he used [Shadow Swap

] to avoid her attack, but just as he reappeared, a hand grabbed his blazer. "Got you," Tess said with a grin, standing before him, before was suddenly forced to let go when she realized what she was holding was only a dark silhouette.

The [Shadow Clone] suddenly expanded in every direction, aiming to envelope her, but the next second,

BOOM!

A blast of lightning struck it , causing it to melt into a pool.

BOOM!

She suddenly vanished in a flash of lightning, reappearing directly behind the actual Adrian and she expected him to teleport again, but the next second,

BANG!

She raised her arm, blocking a strike aimed at her neck, the impact sending a shockwave across the platform.

"Oh?" Tess said, her grin widening further, "you can fight up close too?"

"I try to be a butler that can do a bit of everything," Adrian answered.

A moment after his words, Tess’s shadow suddenly formed hands that tried to grab unto her legs, but she immediately noticed them.

CRACK!

Lightning erupted from her body in all directions, forcing the shadow hand to retreat before it could make contact.

Adrian disappeared and reappeared a few steps away, his glasses glinting a bit from the glow the lightning produced.

"You don’t stay in one place and is extremely hard to hit," Tess muttered, clearly enjoying herself, "you’re annoying."

Though she said that, she hadn’t expected to enjoy herself this much sparring with a second year student, even if he was from Class One.

"Alright then kid," she muttered, "let’s cut off all your escape paths."

Tess then lifted her hand before commanding, "[Lightning rain!]"

The moment she gave the order a rumbling sound was heard above them, and the next second,

BOOM!

A bolt of lightning fell exactly where Adrian stood, but he managed to avoid being hit, though the next second, more started falling towards him, forcing him to constantly teleport.

"Is this a spar anymore?" One of the students asked as she watched the scene within the barrier.

Even Lucian was a bit surprised at the fact that Adrian was still avoiding the lightning bolts by the millisecond, even though they seem to cover the entire platform where they fought.

Renelle, on the other hand, though a bit worried, had already been assured by Adrian that he was fine, so she continued watching.

BOOM!

Whilst Adrian was dodging, Tess suddenly launched herself towards him the moment he reappeared, giving him no time to respond.

But instead of worrying, he suddenly said, "gotchu."

"Huh?" Tess was a bit confused and time seemed to slow down as she looked around for what he was talking about.

But she realized a little too late that it was a bluff and the moment she turned back, the ’Adrian’ before her suddenly expanded.

"Damn it," she muttered.

With her current momentum, if she tried stopping now, she’d be wrapped up by the clone and even if she didn’t, he had ensured the clone had spikes within, which meant speeding this it would no doubt put a cut on her, making it his win.

With a sigh, she sped through the shadow, creating a hole in the other end before stopping.

The Lightning rain suddenly stopped as Tess slowly let out a sigh, raising her head, revealing a small cut on her cheek as she said,

"I guess it’s your win, glasses."
