The Lady's Butler: I Reincarnated To Serve The Villainess

Chapter 61: Combat Class [Bonus - ]

In the manhwa, it was stated that amongst all the professors in the Imperial Spirit Academy, there were quite a few stated to be above the rest.

Geniuses even among those considered geniuses, as each were at S-rank.

And one of the few was currently standing in front of Adrian’s class with a smile on her face.

She was known as Tess Volt, and as her last name suggested, she was contracted to a lightning spirit, hence the reason for her electrically charged mana.

Surprisingly, another of the few professors that stood above the rest was Leon Krell himself.

"Hello professor," Tess said with a grin, "are you here to finally accepting my challenge?"

"I still don’t think a fight is necessary for ’that’," Professor Leon replied with a sigh, already feeling another round of headache coming, "besides, a spar with you involved would not end as a simple spar."

The last time she had sparred with someone, they had almost destroyed half the academy, and she claimed to have been holding back by a lot.

Now imagine that level of destruction, but on a much much higher scale if these two were to fight.

The entire royal Capital would be caught in the cross fire, which was exactly what Leon was avoiding.

Besides, who the hell spars with someone before they asked them out on a date?

He had basically accepted, but she was determined to earn it through a spar.

"Coward," Tess muttered as she turned towards the small group of students behind Leon before asking, "these are?"

"Second year students from Class one," Leon answered, "you were supposed to be their combat instructor, remember?"

"Of course I remember," she clearly didn’t, but professor Leon wasn’t going to call her out on that, instead he just said,

"Great, then I’ll leave them in your care."

With that he turned around to leave but stopped just before he reached the entrance and turned back to her.

"About ’that’," he started, "we could schedule it for the weekend."

Tess froze for a second before quickly regaining her bearings and replying, "not until I beat you first."

Leon just chuckled at her response, since he had expected as much, before finally walking out of the combat training room, mentally wishing the kids luck, not that it’d do them much good.

Tess turned to the group, scanning each of their faces, causing a few of them to stand a bit straighter as a grin slowly spread across her face.

"Well," she clapped her hands, "let’s not waste time."

The students seemed a bit confused for a second before her words finally registered and they immediately started moving around.

Darius immediately turned to the sleepy student, after all, they had some unfinished business.

The other students continued selecting who they thought was weaker than them, and Renelle somehow ended up being selected by the girl in glasses.

Adrian, on the other hand, calmly watched as the prince approached him, but internally, there was a smile on his face, he very much wanted to compare himself against the protagonists of this world and the chance just presented itself.

Unfortunately, just before the Prince could reach him, Tess spoke up, "you glasses, you’ll be paired up with me."

By ’glasses’ she was referring to Adrian, leaving the prince no other choice but to select another sparring partner.

Adrian was a bit confused as to why their eccentric combat teacher selected him as a sparring partner, but he said nothing in protest.

"Alright then," She spoke up again and turned towards a random pair, "you two, step forward and kick each other’s ass."

The students he pointed to were Darius and the sleepy one, who seemed to want nothing but to return to sleep.

They stepped towards the center where a small, elevated platform made of stone was and they stood across each other.

The moment the two stepped unto the platform, some of the magic tool around suddenly lit up and a barrier was formed around them.

This was both to ensure that the fight only stayed within, as with the destruction caused by the fight.

Though, if one was strong enough, that barrier would be no more useful than a wet paper as they could easily break through it.

But for students like these, it should hold... probably.

"Don’t hold back, I’d like to see the full extent of your abilities," Tess instructed before pausing and looking between the two as she added, "now, begin."

BOOM!

Darius didn’t waste any time in making a move. The moment Tess instructed them to begin, his aura immediately exploded outwards as flames enveloped him, but strangely his uniform remained unaffected.

The blazer that he hadn’t worn properly was being lifted by the wind, whilst, somehow, still remaining on his shoulders.

Darius then launched himself forward, but just before he could reach the sleepy student, an almost invisible mist suddenly hit him.

He suddenly stopped in his tracks as his body got heavier and the flames around him flickered.

"What... did you do...?" he gritted his teeth, forcing his body to move.

"Nothing much," the boy replied, his voice sounded like it was almost fading in Darius’s ears, "just making you... fall asleep."

Darius’ expression twisted, "like hell I will!"

BOOM!

He slammed his foot into the ground as his flames got even brighter as the most around him was burnt away.

He then dashed forward and this time, he managed to reach the sleepy kid, he pulled his fist back and slammed it into the kid, but something strange happened.

Instead of feeling the impact, he felt as if he was hitting liquid, and soon enough the boy melted into a puddle.

"What the hell?"

***

Darius’s eyes snapped open only to find out that he was sitting outside the arena and another pair was on the platform, fighting.

Confused, he turned towards the sleepy kid and asked, "what the hell happened?"

The sleepy kid ignored him, but another student answered instead, "the moment our combat instructor started the match, you just fell to the floor and slept."

"Ha?" Darius let out, "you must be joking, right?"

"Nope," the same student shrugged, "you didn’t even last a second."

A few others nearby snickered, though they quickly suppressed it when they felt the heat around Darius start to rise again.

"Tch," he clicked his turn before turning back to the sleepy student.

"Hey!"

He was ignored.

"Hey!"

Again, he was ignored.

"Don’t you dare ignore me," his mana blazed as he was ignored twice, "fight me again!"

His mana got so intense that some students in the combat training room started sweating, but before it could get anymore intense,

BONK!

A hand slammed into his head causing him to immediately turn around only to freeze when he realized who had just hit him.

"You already lost, you hit headed idiot," Tess said, "now, except you want to fight me, I suggest you keep it down."

Darius’ mana receded as he seriously contemplated it, a chance to fight a strong teacher?

But just before he could accept what he thought was a challenge, She turned around and pointed to another pair as the previous ones were already done.

"You, blondie," She sai, pointing towards the prince, "you’re up."
