I Have an Omen System

Chapter 128 - 117: White Tiger Divine Talisman 2

The Blood Centipede Daoist was at the Foundation Establishment Seventh Level and the Seven Injuries Child was at the Foundation Establishment Sixth Level. On paper, their combined strength was no match for Ge Xiuyuan and Pan Feng.

Yet after only a moment’s hesitation, Ge Xiuyuan sighed, a troubled look on his honest, round face. He actually reached into his robes and pulled out five Purple Mansion Star Orders.

"Gentlemen," he said, "I have no desire for conflict. Please, take these five Star Orders. Let’s consider it a gesture of friendship, shall we?"

Pan Feng was hot-headed. When he saw Ge Xiuyuan actually offer up the Star Orders, his expression immediately soured.

"Senior Brother, why are you wasting your breath on them? They’re just a couple of filthy Gu-mongers. Their Cultivation isn’t even as high as mine! Taste my blade!"

BANG!

The tall, lanky Pan Feng opened his mouth and spat out a golden Sword Pill. A piercing Sword Qi shot toward the heavens!

The Blood Centipede Daoist’s eyes glinted, narrow and cold like a viper’s. He didn’t even try to dodge.

His withered hands formed a seal, fingers twisting and turning.

"Blood Centipede, go!"

A streak of crimson light shot from his sleeve, swelling as it flew until it transformed into a ferocious, ten-foot-long Blood-red Centipede.

CLANG!

The golden Sword Pill slammed into the Blood-red Centipede!

The sound of screeching metal rang through the air.

The next moment, the lanky Pan Feng was sent flying backward by the centipede’s immense force.

Cracks appeared on the golden Sword Pill. Pan Feng’s face turned pale as a sheet, and with a grunt, he coughed up a mouthful of blood and collapsed, his condition unknown.

Seeing his chance, the Seven Injuries Child acted. The dark-red thorn seed on his left arm instantly swelled, turned black, and took on a metallic sheen before shooting straight toward Pan Feng.

He lunged forward, his fist hammering down, intending to deliver a killing blow.

"Junior Brother Pan!"

Ge Xiuyuan’s expression changed. "How dare you try to take my junior brother’s life!" he roared. "You’ve pushed me too far. Did you really think I was some pushover?"

He slapped the leather pouch at his waist.

A flash of white light resolved into a silvery-white Talisman etched with a complex White Tiger Rune.

Pouring a torrent of True Essence into it, Ge Xiuyuan bellowed.

"Copper Skin Iron Bone, Golden Body Tiger Talisman, activate!"

As True Essence flooded the Talisman, its intricate Runes lit up, and the white tiger etched upon it seemed to spring to life.

Ge Xiuyuan threw back his head and let out the roar of a jungle king!

ROAR!

As the Talisman activated, the large character for "King" appeared on Ge Xiuyuan’s forehead.

His Skeleton crackled and popped as his shirt burst apart. His muscles bulged, and his short, stout frame swelled to several times its original size, transforming him from a kindly, round-faced Cultivator into a man-eating, humanoid tiger.

And that wasn’t all. Ge Xiuyuan immediately produced another, similar silvery-white Talisman from his pouch.

The White Tiger Rune etched upon it, however, was subtly different from the first.

"Strengthening Tendons and Bones, Barbaric Power Tiger Talisman, activate!"

ROAR!

With the second Tiger Talisman activated, sharp claws sprang from Ge Xiuyuan’s fingertips, and black stripes, like those of a tiger-type Demon Beast, appeared on his skin.

Ge Xiuyuan’s body swelled once more. His muscles, rippling with explosive power, took on a form of terrible, mechanical beauty.

BAM!

With a sound like muffled thunder, a violent wave of True Essence erupted.

Empowered by the two Tiger Talismans, Ge Xiuyuan shattered the Gu Insect-enhanced right arm of the Seven Injuries Child with a single punch!

SPURT! The Seven Injuries Child sprayed a mouthful of black blood, his face turning deathly pale.

Having gained the upper hand, Ge Xiuyuan was like a tiger descending a mountain—unstoppable. He leaped into the air, clasping his hands together.

He brought his clasped fists down like a hammer onto the blood-red centipede.

The force of the blow was so immense it felt like a mountain collapsing, and the very air crackled under the compression.

It smashed a deep Fist Seal into the blood-red centipede’s tough carapace, pulping the flesh and blood beneath.

SCREECH...

The blood-red centipede let out a pained screech. Its thousand legs convulsed, then went limp.

Hiding in the shadows, Qin Xuan’s eyes glinted, his face a mask of shock.

’How can these Tiger Talismans be so powerful?’

’It allows an Earth Dao Foundation Establishment Cultivator at the Seventh Level to possess Physical Strength rivaling that of a Demon Beast at the peak of Foundation Establishment!’

Gazing at the tiger-like Ge Xiuyuan, Qin Xuan couldn’t help but swallow hard.

’If Ge Xiuyuan got close,’ he thought, ’I doubt I’d stand a chance against him in a purely physical fight.’

The Blood Centipede Daoist’s expression changed drastically. "Granny Yu!" he shrieked. "If you’re not going to make a move, what are you waiting for?!"

Deathly silence greeted him.

For a long moment...

...there was no response.

"Stop your bluffing," Ge Xiuyuan snarled. "Time to die!"

Ge Xiuyuan, barely looking human anymore, let out a guttural roar, his eyes blazing scarlet.

ROAR!

His hands, now massive tiger paws, slammed down. The accompanying roar was powerful enough to shatter stone.

The Blood Centipede Daoist’s expression turned grim.

’Damn it! That bitch set me up again.’ The Blood Centipede Daoist gritted his teeth and, with a pained heart, recalled the dying blood-red centipede.

He then snatched up the severely injured Seven Injuries Child.

The pair transformed into two streaks of blood-red Escape Light and tried to flee.

"Trying to run? Leave something behind!"

Ge Xiuyuan’s tiger eyes blazed. Unleashing the terrifying power granted by the Barbaric Power Tiger Talisman, he slammed both claws into the ground.

RUMBLE!

The ground for dozens of yards in front of him split apart as if torn by an invisible, gigantic force, creating a massive, bottomless chasm.

A violent fountain of earth and rock erupted, instantly cutting off most of the Blood Centipede Daoist’s escape routes.

Even the dense surrounding fog was blasted away by this irresistible force.

Seizing the opportunity, Ge Xiuyuan’s hands flew into a Sealing Technique. A purple Talisman adorned with lightning Runes materialized before him, radiating an awe-inspiring celestial power.

"Five Thunders Righteous Skill - Summoning!"

He barked.

CRACK—

Instantly, dark clouds gathered. Several bolts of blindingly bright purple lightning, each as thick as a water bucket, tore through the sky, imbued with majestic celestial power.

They struck with pinpoint accuracy at the Seven Injuries Child and the Blood Centipede Daoist, who were struggling to escape at the chasm’s edge.

RUMBLE!!

When the lightning faded, the ground was scorched black, wisps of acrid smoke rising from it.

The pungent stench of burnt flesh filled the air. Only two broken, charred corpses remained on the ground, along with the nearly shattered, ten-foot-long Blood-red Centipede.

A centipede has a hundred legs; it dies but does not fall.

Yet even the heavily armored Blood-red Centipede was now on its last breath, gasping but unable to exhale.

Qin Xuan, still hiding in the shadows, was utterly dumbfounded.

Ge Xiuyuan’s power was far beyond anything he had imagined.

It was nothing like the power a typical Earth Dao Foundation Establishment Cultivator at the Seventh Level should be able to unleash!

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say he was on par with a Heaven Dao Foundation Establishment cultivator who lacked Positional Divine Techniques.

At this moment, however, Ge Xiuyuan was also in a terrible state.

His muscles were torn and bleeding, the webbing between his thumbs had split open, and you could even see the ghastly white of bone at his wrists.

Not a single patch of skin on his body was left unscathed.

His swollen form was rapidly shrinking back to normal, his aura growing faint and listless.

"Junior Brother Pan," he gasped, "everything happened so fast. I had no choice but to forcefully activate both the Golden Body and Barbaric Power Tiger Talismans. Now, my True Essence is completely depleted, and the backlash is setting in."

"The Blood Centipede Daoist and the Seven Injuries Child are both dead."

Ge Xiuyuan swallowed the coppery blood rising in his throat.

"Quickly, finish off that Blood-red Centipede and take its Inner Core. Get the Purple Mansion Star Orders from their bodies, too. We can’t afford any delays."

"Once I’ve recovered, we’ll split the Star Orders evenly and continue our search for the Fire Phoenix Talisman."

Having given his instructions, Ge Xiuyuan sat down to meditate on the spot. He tilted his head back, swallowed several Rejuvenating Pills, and closed his eyes to recover his True Essence.

He left his back exposed to his trusted junior brother.

Pan Feng, who had been watching from the sidelines, put on a meek and obedient expression and staggered to his feet.

"As you command, Senior Brother!"

The words had barely left his lips when a sickening squelch echoed in the silence.

Ge Xiuyuan slowly opened his eyes. A sharp, blood-drenched blade protruded from his chest, having been thrust through from behind.

"Junior Brother Pan... you..." Ge Xiuyuan’s eyes widened, bloody foam spilling from his lips. His face was a mask of utter disbelief.

"My dear Senior Brother," Pan Feng sneered, "instead of killing the Blood Centipede, I think crippling you first is the safer bet. After all, I have no interest in searching for some illusory Fire Phoenix Talisman."

"Taking all the Purple Mansion Star Orders for myself, on the other hand... now *that* is far more interesting!"

A sinister smile played on Pan Feng’s lips.

With a flick of his wrist, he produced a dagger that glinted with black light, etched with a strange Rune. SQUELCH! He plunged it into Ge Xiuyuan, rupturing his Elixir Field Qi Sea!

"You... you planned this all along?!" Ge Xiuyuan’s face was a mask of disbelief.

’The junior brother he trusted hadn’t actually been injured. Instead, he had been waiting for the right moment to kill him.’

With his Dantian ruptured, Ge Xiuyuan, already weakened, was like a punctured ball.

He seemed to age decades in an instant, his Cultivation plummeting from the Foundation Establishment Seventh Level all the way down to the Qi Cultivation Stage.

In a matter of moments, his Cultivation was completely gone!
