Chapter 537 - 365: Parting (Part 2)
Her movements were a bit rushed, yet tinged with a hint of shyness, as if trying to convey all her reluctance to part and her deep affection to Feng Mountain through this single gesture.
The young people who had gathered around to watch the fun saw this and started whistling, their faces breaking into teasing smiles.
The sound of whistles echoed in the night sky, adding a unique atmosphere to the farewell scene.
Feng Mountain was taken by surprise by Jenny’s sneak attack. Startled, his first instinct was to push her away.
But when he felt the force of her hands cupping his face, his heart softened, and he decided to wait.
He closed his eyes, letting Jenny hug and kiss him. His heart was filled with complex emotions: reluctance, warmth, and a faint melancholy about the coming separation.
In that instant, time seemed to stand still.
The surrounding noise faded away, leaving only him and Jenny, immersed in the deep affection of their parting.
"Wow! Brother Shan is so bold."
Xiaohua’s eyes went wide, shining brightly. Her expression was full of envy, mixed with an irrepressible flicker of excitement.
Muttering in amazement, she deftly pulled her phone from her pocket.
Her fingers flew across the screen, eager to capture this spectacular moment, as if missing a single second would be a terrible loss.
"Foreigners are so uninhibited," Hu Zi muttered, pouting with a hint of envy. He and Black Hide started trading jabs.
"That’s nothing. Just a bit ago, I saw a couple holding hands and heading for the Mossy Wilds. In the middle of the night, pitch-black, a man and a woman all alone... what ’good’ could they possibly be up to?"
Black Hide chimed in, his tone full of ridicule. He deliberately waggled his eyebrows, his eyes glinting with a gossipy light.
"Do you even have to ask? They’re obviously going to ’play basketball.’ You think they’re going to discuss their hopes and dreams?"
Hu Zi had a wicked grin on his face, his teasing words full of unspoken understanding.
The two went back and forth, speaking with animated expressions, their minds seemingly conjuring certain indescribable images.
The smiles on their faces grew increasingly lewd.
As for Natasha, she just stood to the side, coldly watching Feng Mountain and Jenny’s intimate display.
As Feng Mountain’s official fiancée, her reaction to witnessing all this was surprisingly unexpected.
Her delicate face showed no trace of anger or jealousy.
On the contrary, deep within her nonchalant gaze, there seemed to be a hidden, inexplicable excitement.
She lifted her chin slightly, a playful look in her eyes.
It was as if she were enjoying an interesting performance, or perhaps she had other plans in mind, making it impossible to fathom her true thoughts.
「A few minutes later.」
Jenny was still hugging Feng Mountain tightly.
Time seemed to stand still in that moment as she reveled in their brief intimacy, completely oblivious to the stares of those around them.
It wasn’t until her breathing became ragged and a feeling of breathlessness washed over her that she finally, reluctantly, let go.
Her hands slowly slid down.
Her fingertips seemed to still hold the warmth from Feng Mountain’s body.
Her eyes were full of longing, her lips were slightly swollen, and a faint blush colored her cheeks.
As for Feng Mountain, the moment Jenny let go, he actually looked as though he wanted more.
A lingering warmth remained in his eyes.
The corners of his mouth turned up slightly in a barely-there smile, as if he were still immersed in the affectionate embrace from moments before.
"You should go, or you’ll miss the first flight." Feng Mountain quickly came to his senses, trying his best to keep his voice steady, but the slight tremble at the end of his words betrayed his inner turmoil.
"Okay!"
Jenny responded in a low voice, thick with a nasal tone that conveyed her deep reluctance to leave.
She took another long, deep look at Feng Mountain, as if to carve his image into her heart.
Only then did she slowly turn and, along with Erica, Demi, and Tammy, walk toward the camp, looking back with every few steps.
Watching their figures gradually recede into the distance, Feng Mountain stood rooted to the spot, motionless.
The night wind blew through his hair, but it couldn’t blow away the indescribable sadness in his heart.
Even though they would only be apart for a short seven days, the thought of not seeing her for that long made his heart feel suddenly empty.
Meanwhile, a mood of farewell rippled through the crowd. People hugged in pairs, full of reluctance and affection, as they came up to Feng Mountain one by one to say goodbye.
Feng Mountain kept a smile on his face the whole time, his eyes full of warmth that he didn’t hold back in the slightest.
Each time, he would hand out a red envelope and thoughtfully remind the employees who were about to return home.
If they ran into any trouble, they could call the camp anytime.
He let everyone know that the Crown Territory would always be their staunch supporter.
"Boss, I want to go home too." Just then, Alvin, with his arm around his girlfriend, limped over slowly and brazenly held out his hand.
The warm and slightly melancholic atmosphere was instantly thrown into chaos by his words.
Seeing this, Feng Mountain couldn’t help but roll his eyes dramatically, his gaze filled with disgust. He turned his head and yelled to Prince, "Son, go bite this shameless bastard."
WOOF WOOF!
Prince had been obediently standing guard by Princess’s side, preventing Tyson from "backdooring" her.
But upon hearing his dad’s command, he instantly perked up. Forgetting all about protecting Princess, he shot over with a WHOOSH and lunged at Alvin, jaws open.
"Holy shit, I don’t want the red envelope anymore!"
Alvin’s face went pale with fright.
He quickly let go of his girlfriend, spun around, and took off running.
His speed was astonishing; the leg that had been limping just moments ago now seemed to be completely healed.
He ran as fast as he could, terrified of getting bitten by Prince.
The crew members saw this comical scene and immediately burst into unrestrained laughter.
They all crowded around, laughing and cheering Prince on. Shouts and laughter mingled together.
The somewhat heavy atmosphere of departure was considerably lightened by this little interlude.
The music started up again at just the right moment, a cheerful melody flowing through the air.
Infected by the mood, the crew members pulled their partners onto the dance floor to dance and drink.
They savored these last moments of joy, and the camp once again returned to its lively, bustling state.
Feng Mountain, all by himself, quietly carried a chair over to the path leading to the airport runway, set it down, and slowly took a seat.
He stared straight down the winding path, his gaze tinged with loneliness and reluctance.
Before long, the cheerful laughter and chatter of Jenny, Erica, Tammy, and Demi could be heard approaching from a distance.
They carried bulging backpacks and chattered nonstop, as if they had endless things to talk about. Their faces were filled with anticipation for the trip ahead.
Hearing them, Feng Mountain quickly stood up, forced a smile onto his face, and walked toward them to see them off.
"Have a safe trip. Call if you need anything."
"Boss, don’t run off anywhere! Wait for us to come back, I’ll bring you a present, okay?"
"We’re leaving now, bye-bye!"
Erica waved, and the other girls also said their goodbyes before heading down the path toward the airport.
Feng Mountain stood where he was, quietly watching their backs until their figures gradually vanished into the night.
After seeing off Jenny and her friends, more employees appeared one after another over the next while.
Feng Mountain remained standing by the roadside just like that.
He repeated his farewells over and over, wishing each time that he could pack all his reminders into those simple words.
Every one of these girls had a past they couldn’t bear to look back on.
They had once wandered through the ice and snow of Alaska.
To survive, they had mixed with gangsters, drug dealers, and thugs, struggling desperately in the dark corners of the world.
It was Frank who had rescued them from their hellish predicament and brought them to the Crown Territory.
After Feng Mountain took over, he never discriminated against them because of their pasts. Instead, from the bottom of his heart, he treated them like family.
He worked hard to create a warm, loving environment, using patience and care to help them find themselves again and shine with their own light.
"Bye, Boss!"
"Boss, Merry Christmas!"
"Boss, I’ll be back soon, so don’t be sad, okay!"
Faced with these heartwarming goodbyes and enthusiastic hugs,
a warm current flowed through Feng Mountain’s heart. At the same time, he felt like a father sending his daughters off on a long journey.
With them all leaving so suddenly, even though it was only for seven days, Feng Mountain’s heart, for some reason, felt completely empty, as if he had lost something important.
When the first plane began to circle slowly in the sky above the Crown Territory, its low roar tearing through the silence of the night, Feng Mountain instinctively looked up.
His gaze followed the aircraft intently, as if he could see through its fuselage to the people inside.
...
