Chapter 478 : An Unsettling White
“Haha, there’s no doubt about it—Ling Ning is late today!”
Su Ya stood happily at the school gate, breathing in the fresh morning air. Turns out waking up on time wasn’t impossible after all!
Even though she had stayed up until the early hours “studying” under her blanket, she still managed to get up on time. Wait… how did she get up?
Pondering briefly, Su Ya shook her head. That didn’t matter. What mattered was that she had finally arrived at the meeting spot ahead of Ling Ning.
Glancing at the time, it was already 8:30, and there was still no sign of Ling Ning. Victory was hers!
As Su Ya basked in her triumph, she noticed something odd. The streets were unusually quiet. At this hour, the school gate should have been bustling with students.
Turning around, she saw the guardhouse empty, and no cars were passing on the nearby road. A chill ran down her spine.
It was broad daylight—could she have encountered a ghost?
“Xiao Ya…”
Frozen in place, Su Ya heard someone calling her name. She instinctively looked around, but no one was there. The voice, however, was growing louder and closer.
“Xiao Ya, wake up!”
The moment those words hit her ears, Su Ya snapped awake.
Opening her eyes, the first thing she saw was Ling Ning’s flawless face, smiling down at her. Only then did she realize Ling Ning was standing right by her bedside!
“Good morning, Xiao Ya! I thought you’d sleep for another ten minutes.”
“I… I was dreaming?” Su Ya muttered to herself, her voice barely audible. She had genuinely believed she’d arrived first, only for reality to shatter that illusion. It was a crushing blow.
After a long pause, Su Ya finally reacted. “Ling Ning, why are you in my dorm!?”
“Lu Muyuan let me in, of course,” Ling Ning said cheerfully. She had originally planned to wait outside, but she ran into Lu Muyuan, who was out for a run, and was promptly invited in.
“Keep your voice down—Li Qian and the others are still asleep.”
Glancing at the beds, Su Ya saw that the two sisters were indeed still sound asleep. Lowering her voice, she said, “Wait a moment, I’ll go freshen up.”
“Take your time.”
Ling Ning sat back down on the chair, casually surveying the dorm. It hadn’t changed much since her last visit.
After sitting for a while, she decided to fold Su Ya’s blanket. Climbing onto Su Ya’s bed, she noticed a splash of white that seemed out of place.
Picking up the bra, Ling Ning rubbed her chin thoughtfully. So it was true—Su Ya hadn’t experienced any “secondary growth” since her first year. Even years later, it would likely remain the same size.
At that moment, Su Ya emerged from the bathroom, only to see Ling Ning holding her underwear, lost in thought. Judging by Ling Ning’s expression, she was definitely thinking something inappropriate.
“What are you doing!?”
“Nothing, nothing. I was just wondering if you’d ever grow a bit more~”
“O-of course I will! Just wait—I’ll have a better figure than you someday.”
“Sure, sure. Hurry up, though, or we’ll be late.”
“Ah!”
Su Ya hurried to finish getting ready, barely bothering with makeup before rushing out the door with Ling Ning. She could always touch up later. If Ling Ning ended up late because of her, she’d never forgive herself.
Watching Su Ya’s flustered demeanor, Ling Ning smiled warmly. “No need to rush so much. The first stop is the company. Oh, and Sister Qin Qing wants to see you.”
“Huh!?”
“You’ll find out soon enough.”
Hearing this, Su Ya grew even more nervous.
Ling Ning held her hand gently. “Relax. You’ve met her before—just act as usual. And remember, I’ll be right by your side.”
“Mm.”
As long as Ling Ning was with her, Su Ya felt reassured.

Arriving at the company, Ling Ning greeted the employees as usual before heading straight to Qin Qing’s office with Su Ya in tow.
This time, Qin Qing looked noticeably different. Dressed impeccably in business attire and radiating confidence, she seemed worlds apart from their previous encounter.
Seeing Qin Qing, Su Ya instinctively turned to Ling Ning, ready to ask who this was, only to realize it was Qin Qing. Asking that question aloud would’ve been terribly awkward.
“Ling Ning, you’re finally here~”
“Sister Qin Qing, things must be settling down for you now?”
“Just about. When the press conference rolls around, I’ll need your help. Your leg injury—has it healed?”
“Don’t worry about it.”
Glancing around Qin Qing’s tidy office, Ling Ning nodded in approval. “Well, I’ll get started on my tasks. Here’s the person you wanted to see.”
Ling Ning gave Su Ya’s hand a reassuring squeeze before leaving the office.
“Wait!”
Su Ya panicked slightly as Ling Ning left. Though she had met Qin Qing before, this version of her exuded an even stronger presence.
Qin Qing chuckled softly. “No need to be nervous. Have a seat. Would you like something to drink?”
“W-water, please.”
“Got it.”
After setting a glass of water in front of Su Ya, Qin Qing sat down, her gaze softening as she noted Su Ya’s nervous expression. Was she really that intimidating? She had even gone out of her way to dress nicely today.
Ling Ning was probably the only one who could face her without batting an eye, speaking casually and with complete disregard for formality.
