Chapter 477 : A Packed Schedule
“Alright, I’ll head over tomorrow afternoon.”
Ling Ning let out a long sigh after hanging up the phone. The National Day holiday had ended some time ago, and her leg injury had mostly healed. While she still couldn’t do anything too physically demanding, work should be fine.
It had been ages since she last took on a freelance gig. It was time to “harvest some crops.” She had planned to do so over the holiday, but who could have predicted her injury? What a pain.
To make up for lost time, she packed her weekend schedule to the brim.
Just as she was about to return to her room to write, a troubling thought froze her in her tracks. The “trial dating period” with Su Ya was nearing its end. If she didn’t act soon, things might fall apart.
Blinking in realization, Ling Ning scolded herself for not thinking of this sooner. With her weekend already fully booked, it was starting to look like a lost cause.
No, no, no. As a woman aspiring to become the Queen of Harems, she couldn’t let it end like this. Time was like a cleavage—there was always a way to squeeze some out.
Thinking about Su Ya’s area of study, Ling Ning pondered briefly before grabbing her phone to call her. “Hello, Xiao Ya? What are you up to?”
After a brief pause, a slightly unfamiliar voice replied, “You must be Ling Ning. Xiao Ya’s in the shower. I’m her roommate. Can I take a message?”
Recognizing the voice as Su Ya’s friend and roommate, Lu Muyuan, Ling Ning quickly replied, “Ah, no problem. If Xiao Ya’s busy, I’ll call back later.”
As she spoke, an image of Su Ya in the shower popped into Ling Ning’s mind. She couldn’t help but reminisce—though she’d seen it in her previous life, that felt so long ago. She wouldn’t mind seeing it again~
Just as Ling Ning was about to hang up, Lu Muyuan added, “Wait a moment. Xiao Ya just got out. I’ll hand her the phone.”
A moment later, Su Ya’s voice came through, soft and curious. “Ling Ning? It’s me, Su Ya.”
“Oh, Xiao Ya, I’ve been waiting for you! Were you in the shower just now? That’s great, really great. I’d love to see you in the shower~”
Su Ya sighed helplessly at Ling Ning’s shamelessness. “What do you want?”
“Well, I was wondering if you’re free tomorrow. I have a photoshoot at a magazine studio. Would you like to come along? Goddess and Bride are among the shoots on schedule~” Ling Ning’s voice dripped with temptation. She was sure Su Ya wouldn’t resist.
“Of course! I’d love to!”
Su Ya agreed without hesitation. As a fashion design major, visiting such studios was a fantastic opportunity to learn. Plus, Bride was one of her favorite magazines. The thought of seeing Ling Ning in a wedding dress made her heart race.
The live version would surely be stunning.
“Great! I’ll pick you up at 8 AM at your dorm. We’ve got a packed day ahead, so don’t oversleep~”
“I-I won’t oversleep!” Su Ya stammered, though she wasn’t entirely confident. Oversleeping had become second nature to her.
Ling Ning chuckled, fully expecting Su Ya to oversleep. She’d already planned to go up and wake her if needed.
“Alright then. Don’t stay up too late. Bye~”
“Bye~”
Hanging up, Su Ya returned to her room, visibly excited. She immediately grabbed a new face mask and applied it. She had to look her best for tomorrow’s outing with Ling Ning.
Seeing Su Ya’s enthusiasm, Lu Muyuan peeked over curiously. “You look thrilled. What’s going on? Care to share?”
“Nothing much. Ling Ning invited me to her photoshoot tomorrow.”
“A photoshoot? For Goddess or Bride!?”
“Both, I think.”
“Wow, that’s amazing! Getting to accompany a goddess to a shoot like that. You might even meet top models. If you see anyone I like, please get their autograph for me!”
“We’ll see~”
Their conversation wasn’t exactly quiet, so the other roommates, Li Qian and Li Meng, overheard it too. From Su Ya’s tone, it seemed her relationship with Ling Ning was anything but ordinary.
They hadn’t seen Ling Ning in a while, only occasionally spotting her in the cafeteria. If this continued…
A sense of unease flickered between the sisters as they exchanged glances. No words were needed to understand each other.

Meanwhile, Ling Ning received another call—this time from Qin Qing, asking if her leg had healed and if she was available the day after tomorrow.
Qin Qing had contacted her weeks ago, but Ling Ning’s injury had delayed things. Now that the deadline was approaching, Qin Qing was following up.
“My leg’s fine now. I’ll come by in the morning.”
“Great. Once you’re here, we can start right away. Everything’s ready—we’re just waiting on you.”
“No problem. Sorry for keeping you waiting.”
“It’s nothing. Oh, and if possible, could you bring your friend Su Ya? I really enjoyed chatting with her last time.”
Ling Ning smiled. “Sure, you’ll see her tomorrow.”
“Alright. See you then.”
After hanging up, Ling Ning sighed, a bit overwhelmed by how much had piled up. Resting for a short while had resulted in an avalanche of responsibilities.
“Well, I guess being busy isn’t all bad.”
