Chapter 441 : Thanks for the Treat~
“Xiao Yue’s preserved egg and lean pork congee is really delicious~”
Ling Ning sipped on the congee that Lin Yue had prepared, her face full of contentment. She hadn’t expected to score a free breakfast while visiting Chen Ruo—it was simply delightful.
But, to be fair, Lin Yue’s cooking was excellent. It wasn’t far off from her own. Ling Ning made a mental note to come over more often for free meals.
Sensing something, Lin Yue looked up at Ling Ning, who was sitting across from her. She felt like this "b****" was probably thinking something very inappropriate.
The thought of her naive, scatterbrained mom going out with Ling Ning made Lin Yue uneasy. What if her mom ended up willingly getting into Ling Ning’s bed and undressing?
That…wasn’t entirely impossible.
Why did she always have urgent matters to deal with whenever her mom spent time with this "b****"? If she had known, she would never have agreed to her friend’s invitation today.
Meanwhile, Chen Ruo silently focused on her congee, her mind replaying the embarrassing events of that morning. The more she thought about how Ling Ning had witnessed her mortifying behavior, the more she wanted to crawl into a hole. Her entire image in front of Ling Ning felt ruined.
Why had things turned out this way? It must have been because she had stayed up too late studying last night. Yes, that had to be it.
Unbeknownst to her, Ling Ning saw her as a scatterbrained and slightly lewd "lady," the type who could easily be coaxed into bed. With a little push, things might even escalate.
After breakfast, Lin Yue got ready to leave but not before pulling her mom aside into a room. With a stern expression, she said, “Mom, let me tell you something. Don’t trust everything that Ling Ning says. I really think she’s up to no good with you. Just be careful, okay?”
She didn’t try to stop her mom from going out—she knew that was pointless. Every time she told her mom to stay home, Chen Ruo would sneak out anyway. Lin Yue had given up trying to stop her.
Chen Ruo, however, didn’t take her daughter’s words to heart. To her, Ling Ning was like a savior who always appeared when she was lost. There was no way she’d do anything bad.
Patting her daughter’s head gently, Chen Ruo smiled and said, “Don’t worry, Mom knows what she’s doing. Besides, Ling Ning wouldn’t do anything like that~”
Lin Yue rolled her eyes. This mindset was exactly what led to "those kinds of situations" in adult comics. Didn’t her mom, as an artist, understand the implications of such thoughts?
Glancing at the time, Lin Yue sighed and said, “Just remember what I said. I have to go now. Lock the door when you leave, okay?”
“I know. Mom isn’t a child—I’ll remember to lock the door.”
Shaking her head, Lin Yue left the room. She didn’t even want to count how many times her mom had forgotten to lock the door.
In the kitchen, Ling Ning was washing dishes when Lin Yue walked out. Ling Ning smiled and asked, “Heading out?”
“Yeah,” Lin Yue replied, then leaned closer and whispered, “You’d better not try anything with my mom.”
“Do I look like someone who’d do that?”
“You don’t, but still.”
Ling Ning just smiled at Lin Yue’s response and said no more. Honestly, she wasn’t that kind of person. Teasing Chen Ruo was just fun; she didn’t actually plan to do anything.
When Ling Ning finished the dishes, Chen Ruo appeared dressed in a white Gothic lolita dress, looking exceptionally youthful. However, Chen Ruo herself seemed completely unaware of the childlike impression she gave off. In fact, she thought her outfit exuded authority.
“Chen Ruo, are you sure it’s okay to go out dressed like that?”
“No problem! Moe is justice!”
Chen Ruo struck a "power of moe" pose, causing Ling Ning to almost get a nosebleed.
“Whatever makes you happy, Chen Ruo,” Ling Ning said, covering her nose.
As they headed out, Chen Ruo walked straight toward the elevator. Ling Ning sighed and grabbed her hand, pointing toward the door with a look that said everything. But she had overestimated Chen Ruo’s awareness.
“Eh? What’s wrong, Ling Ning?”
“Chen Ruo, don’t you lock your door when you go out?”
“Ah!?”
Realizing what Ling Ning meant, Chen Ruo quickly pulled out her keys and locked the door. She chuckled awkwardly, having completely forgotten despite her daughter’s reminder earlier.
Once the door was locked, they entered the elevator. While Chen Ruo pressed the floor button, Ling Ning suddenly hugged her from behind and whispered in a seductive tone, “Chen Ruo, after what you did to me this morning, how are you going to compensate me~?”
“Eh!?”
Feeling the softness against her back and catching a faint fragrance, Chen Ruo’s heart raced uncontrollably.
Before she could respond, the elevator stopped, and a middle-aged man stepped in. His expression froze at the sight of the two. He thought to himself, Seriously? Lesbians this early in the morning? Wait, isn’t that Chen Ruo from upstairs? I can’t believe she’s into women. What a waste—legal lolis like her are so rare nowadays.
Even after the man entered, Ling Ning didn’t let go, keeping her arms wrapped around Chen Ruo. She couldn’t help it—the expression on Chen Ruo’s face was priceless.
Was she being too flirty? Perhaps.
When they reached the first floor, Ling Ning finally released Chen Ruo. Flashing a perfect smile, she said, “I’ve already received my compensation, Chen Ruo. Thanks for the treat~”
“Eh!?”
