Chapter 437 : A Rotten Head Spoils the Tail
“Phew, finally done~”
Standing at the bar, Chu Feng let out a long sigh of relief. The previous customer was truly a handful, and from the kinds of questions they had asked, Chu Feng could be sure this overly confident person had come here just to hit on people.
With that thought, Chu Feng looked around the café and then gave a bitter smile. Now that he thought about it, there didn’t seem to be many people with a “normal” orientation in his older sister's café.
There was no need to mention his older sister. Then there were people like Miss Xia You and Miss Jiang Xue—it was obvious from the way they looked at Miss Ling Ning.
Could this be what they call “a rotten head spoiling the tail”?
Suddenly, Chu Feng felt this phrase couldn’t be more fitting.
Just as he was about to sit down and take a break, he saw Ling Ning walking toward him.
“Little brother Chu Feng, your regular is here~ Go serve them!”
“Serve them? Ling Ning-jie, could you please use a different term? How about ‘attend to the customer’? If you keep saying ‘serve,’ people might misunderstand what kind of place this is!”
Chu Feng replied helplessly.
Hearing this, Ling Ning gave an awkward laugh. “I can’t help it; I’m just so used to saying it. I’ll try to be mindful next time, okay? Anyway, they’ve been waiting for a while now. Hurry and go see them.”
“I know~”
Sighing lightly, Chu Feng adjusted his expression and walked toward the direction Ling Ning had pointed to, where Wei Suozhai was sitting and sipping coffee.
“Oh, what brings you here~”
Chu Feng greeted Wei Suozhai and casually sat beside him, immediately helping himself to the snacks Wei Suozhai had ordered.
Wei Suozhai was one of Chu Feng’s rare male friends who shared similar interests. Although Wei Suozhai often showed up unexpectedly around him and Miss Qian Xu (?), he was generally a good guy.
“I was just heading to a nearby internet café for a team battle and thought I’d stop by for a bite,” Wei Suozhai said while glancing at Chu Feng.
Although they hadn’t met for only a few days, Chu Feng still looked as pure and beautiful as ever. Not that it mattered—flat chests are rare treasures, aren’t they? Speaking of which, that mature beauty Qian Xu also seemed flat-chested. Maybe she’d be more attractive if she were bustier.
“A team battle, huh~ No wonder you’re dressed so formally. If you hadn’t told me, I’d have thought you were going on a blind date.”
“Blind date? I’m still a college student, you know. Besides, with my looks, do I even need a blind date?”
“Well, who knows~”
Chu Feng chuckled, feeling his mood lighten considerably after chatting with a familiar face.
Seeing Chu Feng’s smile, Wei Suozhai froze. Even though he had seen Chu Feng smile several times before, it still struck him every time, as if his soul were being purified.
“What’s wrong?”
“N-Nothing. I was just thinking about a new anime I’ve been watching recently. It’s about fictional characters appearing in the real world. If that happened, a lot of people would probably panic, right?”
“Oh~ You mean that one? I’m watching it too. In the first episode, they utterly destroyed the reputation of that author with the ‘long-tentacled salted fish.’ It was fantastic! And the soundtrack is amazing too.”
While they were chatting, a small item slipped out of Wei Suozhai’s suit pocket and got kicked under the table.
Although Wei Suozhai felt something odd and glanced under the table, his attention was soon diverted to Chu Feng’s long, black-stockinged legs, forgetting what he had intended to do. If he looked down a bit more, maybe he’d see Chu Feng’s underwear today.
“Did you drop something?” Chu Feng asked, puzzled.
“Huh? Maybe… I think I felt something drop, but I can’t see it now. Maybe it’s just my imagination,” Wei Suozhai mumbled, snapping back to reality.
“Why don’t you check your pockets? You should know what you brought with you, right?”
“Good point.”
Wei Suozhai sat up straight, a flicker of regret crossing his face. He had been so close to seeing what he wanted. But alas, such opportunities were rare, and he had let it slip.
What a pity!
After checking his pockets, he found his phone, wallet, and keys were all there. Since he hadn’t brought much else, it must have been a mistake.
“So, how is it?”
“Nothing seems to be missing. I must have imagined it. Anyway, where were we?”
At that moment, Wei Suozhai had completely forgotten about the USB drive his sister Wei Lan had handed him earlier. If he had remembered, the situation might have been salvageable. But now, his mind was entirely focused on Chu Feng, and the thought was long gone.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the café, Ling Ning finally relaxed after seeing Lin Hai leave. If he had spotted her here, he would probably have started spouting nonsense again.
Shaking her head, she turned her attention to Su Ya, who was nervously practicing her customer service skills under Ling Ning’s guidance.
“How does it feel talking to a customer for the first time?”
“So… so nerve-wracking!” Su Ya replied, her face flushed.
“That’s normal. Everyone’s a bit nervous their first time. You’ll get used to it eventually. Just look at me~ Here, let me show you again.”
“Okay.”
Su Ya nodded, but then she noticed something small lying on the floor not far away. Curiously, she walked over to pick it up.

Author’s Note:
Take a guess—what kind of USB drive is it?
