Chapter 208 : Three People Sleeping Together!
"You two, let go of me already!" Ling Ning protested, exasperated. As soon as the power went out, the twins had latched onto her like two sticky tentacles and hadn’t let go since.
"No way, no way!" the sisters replied in unison.
The truth was, neither of them feared ghosts or monsters, nor were they afraid of thunderstorms. But darkness? That was a different story. They even needed a nightlight just to sleep comfortably.
"Fine, you can hold onto me, but stop groping around!" Ling Ning grumbled as she felt their hands wandering. If anyone could see her now, they’d notice her cheeks were bright red.
"Wait, are you two afraid of the dark?" Ling Ning asked, curious. Their reaction definitely suggested that might be the case.
"I-I’m not afraid of the dark!" the two replied in sync, their voices quivering.
After hearing their responses, Ling Ning was certain: they were definitely afraid of the dark.
"Well, if you’re not afraid, then let go so I can grab my phone for light. Where are your phones, by the way?" Ling Ning asked, realizing her phone was charging in Li Qian’s room. With both of them clinging to her, she couldn’t even move, let alone retrieve her phone.
"Ch-charging," they answered in unison.
Ling Ning rolled her eyes. Even for twins, this level of synchronicity, even in something like phone battery usage, was uncanny.
Realizing they couldn’t just cling to Ling Ning forever, they reluctantly let go, though they still held onto the hem of her skirt.
Ling Ning glanced out the window and noticed the entire area had lost power. No wonder it was pitch black.
She tried to remember the layout of Li Qian’s apartment, piecing it together in her mind as she slowly made her way toward Li Qian’s room. Since it wasn’t her own place, she walked cautiously to avoid tripping over anything.
The twins followed behind, gripping her skirt tightly. Even though they knew she was right in front of them, they couldn’t shake the fear bubbling up inside them, feeling their hearts race with each step.
"We’re here!"
Ling Ning sighed with relief as she found the door handle, gently opened the door, and made her way toward her charging phone.
There were no mishaps along the way, and she retrieved her phone without issue. As soon as she turned on the flashlight, the sisters immediately felt like Ling Ning was their beacon of safety.
With the light on, they quickly retrieved their own phones. But now they all faced a critical issue: each of their phones was running low on battery.
"Maybe we should just go to bed," Ling Ning suggested, glancing at her phone’s remaining battery. It was still early, but with no power, sleeping early was their best option.
The twins readily agreed, but now a new dilemma arose—who would Ling Ning share a bed with?
"Of course, Ling Ning will sleep with me! We have school together tomorrow, so it makes sense for us to share a bed. You’ll need to leave early to get back to your school, and you’ll end up waking her up if she’s with you," Li Qian said, making her case confidently.
“You…” Li Meng looked at her sister, momentarily at a loss for words.
Sighing, Ling Ning said, "Enough, you two. We’ll all just sleep together, okay?"
If she let them keep arguing, they’d probably keep at it until their phones died. Besides, Li Qian’s bed was big enough for three people.

“Hmm…”
Ling Ning slowly opened her eyes to find the room bathed in morning light. She must have left the light switch on when they came in last night and forgotten to turn it off.
Sharing a bed with the twin beauties hadn’t been the most comfortable experience. Both of them had clung to her tightly as they slept, giving her hardly any space to move. And they’d kept fidgeting in their sleep, making her blush and almost sending her into some questionable dreams.
Carefully, she lifted Li Qian’s arm off her chest and moved Li Meng’s hand from her thigh.
Ling Ning wanted to grab her phone to check the time, but Li Meng was still asleep beside her, putting it out of reach. Fortunately, she spotted a small clock on the wall; it was just before six. Seeing the twins still fast asleep, she decided to get up.
Li Qian was in the middle of a dream where she and Ling Ning were cuddling. As their faces got closer, they were about to kiss when a voice pulled her out of her slumber.
"Wake up, you two! You’ll be late if you don’t get up!"
Ling Ning had just come back from brushing her teeth and preparing breakfast when she found the twins still curled up together. If only they could get along like this all the time, she thought.
At the sound of her voice, Li Qian opened her eyes, only to be met with her own face—or rather, her sister’s. There was no doubt about it; the person lying beside her was Li Meng.
Li Meng, similarly groggy, opened her eyes to see her sister’s face, confusion clear in her expression. She wondered why she was looking at her sister instead of Ling Ning.
Watching the scene from the doorway, Ling Ning found it hilarious. The two looked exactly like they were staring into a mirror, their expressions identical.
“Come on, hurry up and eat breakfast. Especially you, Li Meng—you’ll be late if you don’t get moving,” Ling Ning said, shaking her head as she left the room.
Once Ling Ning was gone, the sisters realized how close they were.
“Let go of me! Why are you so close to my face?”
“You let go! Why do I have to see your annoying face first thing in the morning?”
Outside the door, Ling Ning could still hear them bickering, and she shook her head with a sigh. So much for them getting along, she thought.
