Dragon Ball- Vegata Future Rewritten By Inner Voice

Chapter 414: DB-VFRBIV Chapter 408 What Kind of Superior-Subordinate Relationship Is This?

Inside Universe 7’s observation room, Beerus was left completely baffled as several figures suddenly reappeared on the Snowfield Module screen.

Just moments ago, Laitses and Super Perfect Cell had been locked in a fierce battle. Yet now, the two were walking side by side as if nothing had happened.

Beerus stared at the screen in disbelief, his eyes wide and his mouth hanging open.

“Am I seeing things? How the hell did this happen?”

Supreme Kai Shin’s reaction was even more exaggerated. His jaw nearly hit the floor as he craned his neck toward the screen, practically trying to shove his face into it for a better look. His already large, round eyes were stretched so wide they looked ready to pop out of their sockets.

“This… This makes no sense! They were only gone for two minutes! How did they come back as allies? What happened between them?”

Whis, who had remained silent until now, offered a slight smile.

“Hohoho. It seems something rather interesting happened during those two minutes. If I had to guess, they managed to reach some sort of deal in that short amount of time. Otherwise, their current behavior would be rather difficult to explain.” He smiled knowingly. “After all, as humans like to say: there are no eternal friends, only eternal interests.”

Just then, the previously calm screen began to shake.

At first it was only a slight tremor, but it quickly grew more violent, as though an invisible hand was tearing at the display itself. A blurry figure gradually took shape in the center.

As the image cleared, everyone finally saw who it was.

Z Broly!

His enormous, muscular body stood tall like an iron tower, radiating a terrifying aura.

“Th-That’s Z Broly! What is he doing there?” Shin’s eyes widened again. He rubbed them hard, wondering if he was hallucinating, but Broly’s unmistakably overwhelming presence made it clear that what he was seeing was real.

The instant Beerus spotted him, his expression darkened. A vein bulged on his forehead as fury flared in his eyes.

“That damn traitor finally showed himself! Trunks, beat the hell out of him! How dare he work for Champa!” Beerus’s furious roar echoed throughout the observation room.

Meanwhile, on the distant Snowfield Module, everyone’s attention had converged on the frozen battlefield.

Snow blanketed the land while bitter winds swept across the icy plains. Laitses, the only Universe 10 fighter remaining in the first round, had naturally become the center of attention. People from three different universes were now staring intently at their respective screens, waiting to see what would happen next.

The atmosphere inside Universe 10’s observation room was far heavier.

Zamasu sat with his head lowered, his expression gloomy as he clenched his fists. The body-swapping army he had been so proud of had suffered a disastrous defeat in this Tournament of Power. Almost every single one of them had been eliminated.

This outcome was completely beyond anything he had imagined. Sometimes, luck really was impossible to predict.

What irritated him even more was Universe 7. It was as though some cursed thread of fate had tied them together, refusing to let go no matter what happened. Most of his fighters had been eliminated by contestants from Universe 7.

Zamasu turned his head and glared furiously at Black Gohan behind him, who was badly injured and barely conscious. He had originally planned to heal him, but the more Zamasu thought about what had happened, the angrier he became.

‘Forget it. I’m not healing him anymore.’

Just remembering the previous battle made his blood boil. Victory had already been within their grasp. The path to advancement had practically opened before them, only for Z Broly to suddenly barge in at the critical moment!

And while Z Broly was officially competing for Universe 6, he was originally from Universe 7 as well.

At that moment, Universe 10’s God of Destruction, Rumsshi, had seemingly lost all desire to speak. He simply sat there in silence, completely motionless.

They had started with ten contestants. And now? Eight had already been eliminated.

As if that weren’t frustrating enough, one of the remaining fighters refused to follow orders and did whatever he pleased. To top it off, the only one who had successfully advanced was Zamasu, whose body swap hadn’t even been completed yet!

How could Rumsshi not feel miserable?

His eyes were empty as he slowly raised one hand to prop up his face. His heavy eyelids drooped, and his entire body radiated the hopeless energy of someone who had completely given up on life.

“Lord Rumsshi… please don’t be so discouraged. This isn’t over yet. We still have one last chance,” Toppo Zamasu, standing nearby, quickly tried to comfort him.

Unfortunately, Rumsshi didn’t seem to hear a word of it.

He knew perfectly well how enormous the gap in strength was between the two sides. There was no denying that Universe 10’s luck had been absolutely terrible this time around. Just look at the opponents they had encountered, every single one was among the strongest fighters in their respective fields.

If they had run into contestants from other universes instead, things probably would have been much easier, and far more of their fighters might have advanced. Of course, there was no guarantee they wouldn’t have run into a troublemaker like Z Broly anyway. That lunatic had repeatedly used Destruction Energy to break through the barriers between modules, traveling from one battlefield to another just to rack up eliminations.

Judging by the strength Broly had displayed so far, taking down Black Gohan had been easy for him. Most of the others wouldn’t have fared much better.

But there was no point dwelling on it now. They had no luck, no advantage, and no allies left.

Rumsshi sighed. “At this point, there’s nothing more to say. Maybe our last hope lies with that contestant who isn’t actually from our universe. He may refuse to follow Zamasu’s orders, but if he wins… at least our universe won’t be erased.”

The moment those words left his mouth, everyone’s attention snapped toward the giant screen as the broadcast switched directly to the Snowfield Module.

What appeared before them left everyone dumbfounded.

Laitses, who had previously been completely hostile toward Universe 7, was now standing right alongside Universe 7’s fighters! Even more unbelievable was the fact that there wasn’t the slightest trace of hostility on his face.

Everyone in the room immediately began whispering among themselves. What in the world had happened during those two short minutes when Laitses had disappeared? How could his attitude have changed so completely?

Rumsshi froze. The faint trace of hope that had briefly returned to his face vanished in an instant, and he suddenly looked as though he had aged decades. That tiny spark in his heart was mercilessly snuffed out, leaving nothing but ashes behind.

Zamasu wasn’t doing any better. He stood with his head lowered and his eyes unfocused, pacing back and forth as though he’d lost his soul. His hands repeatedly clenched into fists before loosening again, betraying just how panicked and helpless he felt.

Rumsshi glanced at him. The arrogance Zamasu had displayed at the beginning of the tournament was completely gone.

Rumsshi understood now: Universe 10 was finished.

The body-swapped contestants lowered their heads as well, none of them saying a word. For a brief moment, Universe 10’s observation room fell completely silent.

“No… it’s not over yet…”

“Everything is still under my control…”

Suddenly, Zamasu raised his head. His eyes were wide and his expression twisted as he continued muttering to himself.

“Everything is still under my control…”

“That’s right! Everything is still under my control!!”

His voice started as little more than a whisper, gradually grew louder, and finally turned into a crazed shout.

Rumsshi glanced at him and sighed. “He’s lost it… Zamasu has finally gone insane…”

Zamasu suddenly threw his head back and burst into laughter. “That’s right! We still have a chance! We still have Lord Zamasu!”

Those words made Rumsshi’s nearly dead heart suddenly skip a beat. He turned toward Zamasu with a puzzled look.

“What did he just say?”

Two words echoed through Rumsshi’s mind: ‘Lord Zamasu.’

‘Is he calling himself ‘Lord’? Or is he talking about someone else?’

Zamasu… Zamasu…

The person Black Gohan had nearly died protecting earlier was also named Zamasu.

Suddenly, a realization flashed through Rumsshi’s mind. ‘Wait! Could he mean the Zamasu who advanced to the next round?’

An invisible question mark practically hovered above Rumsshi’s head. He couldn’t wrap his mind around it. Why was this Zamasu calling that other Zamasu “Lord”? And why were all these body-swapped contestants calling the Zamasu standing right here “Lord” as well?

For a moment, Rumsshi genuinely couldn’t figure out who the hell was supposed to be whose superior.
