Crimson moonlight fell upon the massive rock. Threads of light slipped through the dried grass and twigs, scattering over the white fox lying beneath.
The fox’s eyelids twitched slightly before slowly opening, revealing bright and lively eyes.
“Phew… looks like I didn’t die.” Su Xiao checked his body and found himself completely unharmed. He let out a long breath. “Next time I definitely can’t recklessly swallow spirit herbs like that. These herbs contain huge amounts of energy. You have to find a safe environment before consuming them, otherwise something could easily go wrong during the digestion process.”
As he analyzed the situation, he couldn’t help feeling lucky. During the time he had been asleep, no accidents had occurred. In that state, he had been completely defenseless. Even the smallest danger could have ended his second life.
“I didn’t expect the Silver Grass to still have such strong effects even after the fruit was gone.”
Recalling the system’s description of the herb, Su Xiao understood why he had taken the risk of eating it. With that thought, he opened his interface again.

“Five more points of Spiritual Power!”
Su Xiao stared at the updated numbers. The Silver Grass hadn’t given him any Luck points, but it had increased his Spiritual Power by five. If converted through the system’s rate, that was equivalent to fifty Luck points.
“No Luck… maybe because I already obtained Luck once from it?” he muttered. “Still, gaining Spiritual Power is a nice surprise.” He sighed slightly. “Too bad Spiritual Power and Soul Power can’t be converted back into Luck. Otherwise, converting everything would give me 300 Luck points. That would relieve a lot of pressure.”
He had tested it several times. The conversion was strictly one-way.
Even so, after doing the math, Su Xiao concluded that this was still a profit overall. Then his attention shifted to the other major change.
“Transformation actually unlocked?!” He was startled again.
Previously, the Transformation ability had been greyed out. Now it had been unlocked, and the description had changed, and it was quite long.
After carefully reading it, his eyes flickered. “…Yep. Definitely Miss System’s style.”
Su Xiao’s mouth twitched. The system never provided precise numbers. Instead, it always gave vague explanations, forcing him to explore and understand each ability on his own. Relying on past experience, he searched through his mind.
After a moment, an excited smile appeared on his face. “This is actually a pretty interesting ability… and exactly the kind I was hoping for!”
Just like Fox Fire, the knowledge related to Transformation had been implanted directly into his mind.
As the name implied, it was a talent that allowed him to use illusion techniques.
“In essence, Transformation is a form of illusion. I can use it to appear as a human or create the illusion of simple objects. But fundamentally it’s just an illusion. I don’t actually become the thing I transform into. If I had to explain it in modern terms… it’s like covering my original body with a layer of holographic projection. The appearance changes, but the reality underneath stays the same.”
