Revenge Begins: Reincarnated as a Hated Idol!

Chapter 124: Long-Awaited Testimony

Nathan spoke into the mic.

"I was hired as a spy by the former CEO of Titan Crest Entertainment to keep an eye on the chairman, Neil Valcourt."

While the camera flashes continued taking pictures, Nathan continued speaking:

"I remained one of the many bodyguards of the chairman for many years, until one day, we were given a task to get rid of someone. Since I was a low-ranking bodyguard, I only found that out once we reached the location."

"I always carried spy cameras in my clothes to begin recording at any time, and that time too, I recorded everything."

His eyes shone with intense light as he continued spilling the truth.

"We reached a house, in which, a woman that I recognized as the secretary of the chairman lived. All of us bodyguards barged into her house, and our leader ordered us to throw her down the top floor."

"She begged and cried for help; however, every bodyguard was aware of the consequences they would face by going against the chairman’s orders. Their families could be threatened as well."

"But, while she was being dragged to the top, she revealed the truth. The chairman had an affair with her, and now she was pregnant with his child. After she asked for inheritance rights, the chairman decided to get rid of her before she could expose anything. That was how she died."

He took in a heavy breath.

"Now, you all must be wondering, didn’t anything reveal in the investigation? Didn’t the police find the truth?"

A solemn smile adorned his lips.

"The chairman is a very powerful man. Getting someone killed is a piece of cake for him. As for the police, they concluded the case as a suicide without doing any proper investigation. They didn’t even reveal that she was carrying a child."

Nathan turned silent, his eyes sad and lowered to the table, as if mourning the woman and her unborn child.

At this moment, a female reporter questioned, "Are you saying the police department is corrupt?"

Nathan, hearing that question, scoffed:

"Is that even a question? Of course there is corruption, but..." He shook his head. "I’m not saying the whole department is corrupt. I’m just saying the chairman is a powerful man with connections. He just asked a powerful official to help him cover the case, and the official did it for him."

Another reporter raised his hand and asked, "Do you know who this official might be?"

Nathan smirked and asked, "Shouldn’t that be the media’s job to find out? Just check which official was in charge of the investigation of that secretary’s case, and the truth will come out. As for the video, I will share it with all of you. All I ask is that you please show the truth to the world."

One of the reporters, at this moment, got curious and asked, "But why are you revealing it only now?"

Nathan looked at her and spoke with a somber smile, "Because I was afraid."

"As I told you, I was hired by the former CEO, and when I told him the truth, he was obviously furious and confronted the chairman about it. However, that also led to my existence being exposed to the chairman. He wanted to get rid of me and the evidence."

"But the former CEO helped me escape overseas so that the chairman wouldn’t be able to harm me. As for the former CEO, he decided to keep the truth hidden for the agency’s reputation and for his friendship’s sake. However..."

His fist tightened and his jaw clenched.

"The chairman even got the former CEO killed. It hasn’t even been half a year since he was killed, and his murder was disguised as an accident."

His eyes shone with a resolute light.

"That was when I decided... I will return and expose the chairman’s crimes. But I was aware of his power and connections. I knew that even with the proof, I wouldn’t be able to do anything against him."

"Even Linda Thorn, a reporter, struggled to air the evidence against Lucian Valcourt, the son-in-law of the chairman. And I was trying to expose the chairman himself. Do you think he would let me do it so easily? And even if the evidence was to air, most people won’t even show interest in it."

He took in a deep breath.

"But then," he said, face smiling, "the scandal against Lucian Valcourt broke out, and I knew this was my chance. The whole country was interested in the news related to Titan Crest Entertainment."

"Thus, I devised a plan and kidnapped Mr. Aren’s father. I threatened him as if I was from Titan Crest Entertainment. I wanted to see his resolve while simultaneously getting him to come to me. I knew that if I showed up in front of him myself, I might not appear trustworthy. And it is not exactly easy to meet a celebrity."

"Finally, when I felt the time was right, I leaked my location to Mr. Aren, allowing him to send bodyguards to capture me. And now, I’m in front of you, revealing everything I wanted."

The surroundings turned silent as he concluded.

The reporters looked at each other, seeing the excitement in each other’s eyes. They knew this was a huge scoop, and they will eat well for the time being.

At this moment, one of the reporters asked, "Mr. Nathan. You mentioned the former CEO was killed by the chairman. Are you speculating this, or do you have some proof?"

Nathan shook his head. "Neither am I speculating this nor do I have proof."

He then smiled. "But I do have witnesses."

He turned to look at Aren as Aren nodded.

Aren glanced to the left of the stage, focusing on the man standing in a dark bodyguard suit. He gestured for him to come forward.

Of course, he was Arol, the bodyguard captain of the former CEO.

Arol got on the stage as cameras followed his movement. There was an empty chair beside Nathan, which Arol occupied.

As soon as he sat down, Aren introduced him. "He is the captain of the bodyguards who were responsible for keeping the former CEO safe. He is one of the witnesses who knows what actually happened to the now-dead CEO of Titan Crest Entertainment."

The reporters, hearing that, turned their hungry gazes on Arol.

"Sir, please tell us the truth."

"What do you know, Sir? Please share."

"Is it true the former CEO was killed?"
