Disaster-Level Player Is Too Good at Broadcasting

Chapter 98 - 98: « Disaster-Class Player Is A First-Time Dad! [1] »

The grand hall of the Walkers Org was full of people. There were over three hundred journalists from different media outlets. They held cameras and microphones. In front of them was a long table with a single chair. On the wall behind the table, a large screen showed the Bnet live stream interface. The viewer count was already at twenty million people. It was increasing by one hundred thousand every second.

Kang Min walked onto the stage. He was not wearing his mask. His face was visible to everyone. He wore a simple black suit. He did not smile. He sat down at the table and looked at the crowd. The noise in the room stopped immediately. Everyone wanted to hear what he had to say. Because of his actions on Floor 11, he was the most famous person in the world.

"Thank you for coming," Kang Min said. his voice was calm. "I am here to address the events of the Floor 11 expedition. I also have two announcements to make."

He looked at the camera lens for the Bnet stream.

"I know there are many questions. I will answer them after I speak. First, I want to talk about the Abyss ruins. People call them sinkholes. These places are dangerous. Most players do not enter them. This is because they are too difficult. But these ruins are growing. This led to the incident on Floor 11."

Kang Min leaned forward. He put his hands on the table.

"I have decided that I will take care of these ruins. I have the most experience with them. Because of that, I am making a request. I want the Hunter Association and the guilds to let me handle the sinkholes on every floor. This is for the safety of humanity."

A journalist raised his hand, but Kang Min kept talking.

"I will tell you why I am doing this. I had a vision. This led to me seeing things that other players cannot see. A certain god showed me the truth about the Tower. This god told me that the ruins are not just dungeons. They are places where cursed items are kept. Humanity is not ready to use these items. If a normal player takes a relic from a sinkhole, it could cause a disaster. This is my judgment.

Such items were also recovered in the 11th Floor...and I will have a talk with White Stars."

Kang Min was lying. He did not have a vision from a god. He knew about the ruins because he lived through them in the old world. But he could not say that. Because of that, he used the story of a god. People in this world believed in constellations and gods. This led to them accepting his words more easily.

"I also have to address my previous statement," Kang Min continued. "I said during a live stream that I would join whichever guild came out on top during the Floor 11 expedition. No guild came out on top...seeing as that didn't happen."

He paused to let the words sink in.

"Because of that, I am starting my own company.

[Kang Company]

Our main job is different from other guilds. We will not focus on clearing floors. We will focus on clearing sinkholes. We will retrieve the items and relics inside them. We will keep them safe. This will lead to the creation of a specialized team."

The room became noisy. The journalists started talking at the same time. Kang Min waited. He looked at the Bnet chat on the screen.

[User44: Kang Company? That is a cool name.]

[Ranker9: He is claiming he is the only one who can clear sinkholes. That is arrogant.]

[ProHunter: But he did clear most floors easily. He has the right to say it.]

[RichSponsor: How do we support him? I want to invest in Kang Company.]

Kang Min saw the comment about sponsors.

"Regarding sponsorships," Kang Min said. "I do not need help with the fighting. But I am open to support. Any sponsors who want to support the safety of the floors can do so. This will lead to a system we are building for investors. My goal is to protect the players. If I clear the sinkholes, your guild members will not die in accidental ruins. That is the benefit I offer."

He sat back. "I will now take questions."

A woman from the Seoul Daily stood up. "Mr. Kang Min, or Singularity. You said you had a vision. Can you tell us which god showed you these things? And how can we trust that you are not just taking the best items for yourself?"

"I cannot name the god," Kang Min replied. "This is because the god does not want to be known yet. As for the items, I have already said they are cursed. They are dangerous. I am taking the risk of holding them. I will therefore be the one in danger, not the public. You can trust my actions because I am the one who saved the expedition. If I wanted power, I would have let everyone die and taken the loot then."

The woman sat down. She looked unsure.

A man from a global news agency stood up next. "The footage from the 11th floor shows you emerging from the body of the 65th Demon King. The world saw this. How is that possible? No player has ever been inside a boss and survived. Did you use a hidden skill?"

Kang Min looked at the man. He had to lie again. He could not explain the Demon King succession.

"It was a survival skill," Kang Min said. "I have a skill that allows me to enter a state of stasis when I am near death. Because of that, I was pulled into the boss's mana core during the explosion...from a different exclusive trial on a different floor...that I cannot mention.

It led to me being trapped inside and I had to cut my way out. It was not a pleasant experience for me either."

"But your mana levels were different," the man persisted. "People are saying you looked like a Demon King yourself."

"That is a theory," Kang Min said. "People see what they want to see. I was covered in the boss's blood and mana. Because of that, I looked different. This led to many rumors. That is the truth."

The Bnet chat was moving very fast now.

[User99: He is lying. Look at his eyes.]

[FanGirl: I don't care if he is a demon. He is handsome and strong.]

[ScienceGuy: A stasis skill? That sounds rare. It would explain how he survived the cold.]

Another journalist stood up. This was a man from a sports media outlet. "You bound a Calamity-level tiger. We saw you walking through the city with it. Why did you bring a monster into a civilian area? This led to a lot of fear among the people."

"The tiger is not a monster anymore," Kang Min said. "It is a tamed beast. I have an item that suppresses the monster's aggression. Because of that, the tiger is as safe as a dog. I brought it out because it is a valuable asset for Kang Company. It will help me clear ruins faster...and leading to a better result for everyone."

"But it is a Calamity level!" the journalist shouted.

"I can control it. If I can kill a Demon King, I can handle a cat.

Do you have any more relevant questions?"

The journalist sat down. He was shaking.

Kang Min spent the next hour answering questions. He talked about the difficulty of the 11th floor. He talked about the failure of the major guilds. He pointed out that the guilds were too focused on their own profits. Because of that, they were not prepared for the Abyss. This led to his argument that only a specialized company like his should handle ruins.

Most of the journalists seemed to agree by the end. Kang Min's logic was simple. He was the one of the strongest. He was the only one who succeeded. Because of that, he should be the one in charge.

"I am almost done," Kang Min said. "The Bnet stream will end soon. I have addressed the sinkholes. I have announced the formation of Kang Company. I have explained my vision from the god."

He looked at the crowd and the cameras. He looked like he was about to stand up.

A young reporter in the back stood up quickly. "Wait! Mr. Kang Min! You said at the beginning that you had two announcements. You only told us about the sinkholes and Kang Company. What is the second announcement?"

Kang Min stopped. He looked at the reporter. A small smile appeared on his face. It was the first time he had smiled during the entire conference.

"The second announcement..."

Kang Min said. his voice was a whisper, but the microphones picked it up.

The room went completely silent. The viewers on Bnet stopped typing. Everyone was waiting.
