Alex let out a sigh while rubbing the back of his neck as he sank onto the edge of the bed. The scent of her body; winter jasmine and her juice that had dried up by now, still lingered on the bed.
He was exhausted, and his mind was constantly racing with the implications of Marcus’s dirty move, but he still felt a strange sense of achievement.
For starters, he had just survived an assassination attempt, gained a good amount of Desire Points, and would sooner or later fully conquer one of Marcus’s subordinates. He just had to play his cards right, and she would become a very important person sooner or later.

Suddenly, a small, glowing figure materialized in the air in front of him. It was the chibi version of the system, with her tiny arms crossed over her chest and her cheeks puffed out in a massive pout that made her look more like a grumpy marshmallow.

She squeaked with her tiny silver bell-like voice.
[Do you have any idea how long I’ve been waiting for you to wake up? I’ve been sitting here with a very important, very time sensitive notification, and what do you do? You fall asleep like a log!]
Alex blinked, leaning back on his elbow.
"Uh, sorry? After all, I did just come back from a crazy assassination plot on Nyx, fought another assassin sent by an underworld ruler who is hell bent on killing me, and then spent three hours.... Well, you saw. So I was a bit tired."
[Hmph!]
The chibi floated closer, pointing him in the forehead with a translucent finger.
[I tried to chime the notification the moment your intimate session ended, but your brain was already in shut down mode! You were so exhausted that I couldn’t even process the synchronization properly until now!]
"Okay, okay, I get it," Alex chuckled while reaching out his hand to pat her head. "I’m awake now. So what’s the good news? Did the infinite skill absorption successfully copy her power?"
The chibi expression shifted from annoyed to smugly excited. She even did a little somersault in the air before snapping her fingers.

Alex’s jaw dropped. Just the sheer amount of Desire Points and Desire Energy he had just gained was more than what he would have normally collected from his other women.
’Maybe it’s due to the fact that Celine is an Awakened, while the others are normal humans. So that should mean that, Awakened women provide double of what normal women provide.’
He reasoned while stroking his smooth chin. Then he shifted his gaze to the ability he had Successfully copied from her, and frowned.
While Celine was able to conjure thirty Deathfrost bloom before running out of primordial essence, he could only manage half of that.
’It looks like any ability I copy, I only gain half of its effect. Nonetheless, it is still okay than having nothing.Besides the stronger I grow, the more the ability will increase.’
Before he could continue any further, the system continued.

After she finished speaking, the familiar feeling of the intense warmth from his first level up suddenly exploded deep within his chest. The familiar sensation once again spread through his entire body, refining it.
He could feel his muscles tightening involuntarily as the wave of warmth flowed through his body, rushing from his chest into his shoulders, down his arms, and all the way to the tips of his fingers.
After a while, the intense feeling suddenly stopped, leaving Alex stunned in its wake. The system was right, today was really more than a windfall.
Just from only today, he had gotten a good ability and he had also managed to level up to the next rank. Meaning he was now far superior against early realm Awakened and was equal or a bit superior over the next level of Awakened.
But hold on a minute. Since he just levelled up, does that mean the number of Deathfrost blooms he could summon has now increased? He decided to check and confirm from his stats.

Alex smiled in satisfaction. It turns out his guess was right. The amount of Deathfrost Bloom he could use had now increased with his new rank. It was official. He was now officially in C Rank.
He would have wanted to go test his ability right this second if his room weren’t currently looking like a madman’s abode. Most of his furniture was damaged from the battle with Celine, and the room was thoroughly trashed up.
Alex ran a hand through his messy hair as he continued to take the sight in. Even his favourite desk that had helped him for years now lay in rubbles. The walls had holes that were most definitely from those ice shards Celine had fired at him, in her attempt to kill him.
"Sigh. This place really does look like a pig’s house," he muttered while standing up and stepping over a sunken floorboard.
"But as much as I would love to clean this place up and restore it back to it’s former appearance, I can’t stay here anymore. If Marcus could send someone to kill me here, then it just proves that this place is no longer safe to live in. Besides, I’ve always wanted to leave this crappy apartment."

The chibi said while hovering over a puddle of water.

"Yeah, I guess you’re right," Alex said with a cold glint in his eyes as he thought of his balance. He had already bought foodstuff and clothings, heck, he was even preparing to buy a car one of these days, but he had basically forgotten that the more ability he gained, the more he needed to train them.
And he couldn’t exactly practice his ability in a place where he was more likely to get caught by mundane humans.
"I need somewhere good. Somewhere where I can train myself without worrying about exposing my abilities, and somewhere with enough privacy and class."
The memory of the landlord’s stupid smile when he had asked for a simple ceiling repair last month flashed in his mind. The man had laughed and told him to either fix it himself or move out.
"I think I’ll take his advice and move out."
