Building The Perfect Harem With My Heavenly Desire System

Chapter 75: The Assassination Of Nyx (5)

Chapter 75

At the exact same moment that John’s hand solidified and pierced through her shoulder, a spray of blood painted the floor. Any normal person would most definitely have screamed or collapsed from the sheer shock of it, but Doris didn’t even bat an eyelid.

This was it! This was the opening she had been waiting for, this was the exact singular moment where John had to be fully physical to land a killing blow.

With perfect precision that could rival that of a trained sniper from movies, she drove her hand straight into the unsuspecting man’s lower abdomen, pinpointing the exact location where the primordial cores were usually located.

Her small delicate hands then sunk deep into the muscle and bone, before her fingers now wrapped around the warm, vibrating sphere of power. John’s eyes bulged as the rest of his body began to solidify against his will, leaving him in his vulnerable state.

Doris frowned as the sharp pain in her shoulder throbbed, but a flicker of satisfaction crossed her baby-face.With a sudden, violent increase in her grip, she crushed the core.

Crack!

A sound that felt like shattering glass echoed within John’s body, followed by a gut-wrenching scream of pure agony. He collapsed to the ground, with his body writhing like a worm as all the essence stored in his body began to leak out of him like the water from a broken dam.

With his core officially destroyed, the man who had never lost a single battle in all his life since he awakened his ability was no longer an Awakened. Now all he was, was just a crippled, broken shell of a man, staring up at the petite girl with a mixture of horror and venomous hatred.

"I will kill you! You fucking Bitch! I will fucking kill you for this!!!" He howled, his voice cracking as he tried to crawl his way toward her with one functional arm.

But Doris didn’t even flinch, she just looked down at him with the same indifference one might show an insect beneath their feet. Then without a word, she stepped closer toward his body, lifted her leg, and brought it down upon his head with the full weight of her remaining strength.

A loud, disgusting squelching sound filled the shipyard as his skull shattered like an overripe melon, splattering brain matter and gore across the ground.

Doris didn’t even look shaken by the fact that she had just gruesomely ended a man’s life, she just simply rubbed her shoe on the ground a few more times to clear the mess before walking over to Nyx’s side with a rare smile in her still light purple eyes.

"Thank you Doris. You really did well today," Nyx said softly, her voice filled with genuine warmth as she reached out to steady the girl. "When we get back, I’ll make sure to reward you with whatever you want this time around."

Doris nodded as her eyes began returning to their normal dark hue, but the conspicuous amount of blood seeping out from the hole in her shoulder began to drip to the ground.

Alex, who had been watching from his seat on top of the car’s bonnet, felt a hint of concern and wondered whether to help her or not.

He could clearly see the suppressed pain hidden in her eyes and the way her face was growing paler with each passing minute. He already knew that even for an Awakened, a wound like that would have been fatal if the lung had been nicked.

’Sigh. I at least have to do something,’ he thought as his mind raced.

Since Nyx already believed he was an Awakened when he wasn’t in the actual sense, this could be a really perfect cover. Yes! If he could heal Doris now with the body recovery water, he could also convince Nyx that his so-called Awakened ability was healing.

Moreover, if it wasn’t. It would still be a good way to cover the fact that he was an anomaly with a system. And even if the selfless action might cost him more of his already pitiful Desire Points, it was still best he helped her.

’System open my inventory.’

[Are you sure? You’ve worked hard for those points]

’Yeah, I’m sure. It’s kind of like a win win. If I can heal Doris, it’ll also make Nyx believe that healing is my Awakened ability.’

[Alright]

’Wait! Before I buy it, can I apply the body recovery water to the wound to heal it, or is it only by drinking it?’

[Well, applying it to the wound directly will heal the wound faster]

’Hmm... alright. Give me the body recovery water.’

[Purchase Successful. Total Desire Points Is Now: 265 DP]

At that moment, a small familiar bottle with intricate and glowing design suddenly materialized in Alex’s palm, hidden by the shadows of his damp clothes.

He looked at his remaining points with a painful look in his eyes. Losing fifty points hurts more than even Gnash’s backhand strike, but he shook it off and walked toward the two women.

"Move aside, let me see your injury," Alex said firmly as he approached Doris.

Nyx looked up at him with her brow furrowed.

"Alex, what are you..."

He didn’t answer, he just secretly poured the shimmering crystal clear liquid over his palms and pressed it directly to the hideous wound, making sure that the liquid made full contact with her skin.

Almost instantly, the blood stopped flowing. Then her skin began to wriggle together, regenerating new cells until all that remained in the end was a faint pink scar that would fade in a minute or two.

Doris gasped as her color returned almost instantly. She moved her arm, testing the range of motion with wide eyes.

"It’s... It’s gone. The pain is really gone."

Nyx stared at Alex, her gaze right now was particularly intense and questioning.

"So that’s your power? You’re a healer?"

"In a way," Alex lied smoothly while secretly tucking the empty bottle away. "But it takes a lot out of me. So don’t expect me to be doing that every five minutes."

Before Nyx could press for more details, a clattering sound erupted from behind the sedan. Vaughan, who had been forgotten in the chaos, saw a discarded submachine gun lying just inches away from his hand.

His face turned twisted with a look of cowardly desperation as he lunged for it, with his eyes fixed on Nyx’s back.

Bang!

A single shot rang out from high above the rafters, snapping his head to the side as a high penetration round entered through his temple and exited the other side, painting the side of the sedan with a gruesome red spray.

He slumped over the weapon he had tried to reach, dead before his brain could even process the failure.

Only Silas remained, standing in the center of the shipyard. His red suit looked dusty and stained, and his face looked utterly broken. The man who had spent most of his life planning, watched as the last of his pawns were swept off the board.

He didn’t even try to run when three of Nyx’s loyal snipers descended from the crane with ziplines attached to their waist, and rifles aimed squarely at his chest.

"Take him away," Nyx commanded, her voice cold and devoid of the grief she had felt earlier. "I want him tortured, then kept alive in the basement. We have a lot to discuss regarding the ’investments’ he made."

Silas didn’t say a word as he was dragged off into the darkness, with hollow eyes.

Nyx turned back to Alex, with the faint glow of the moon’s light catching the sharp lines of her beautiful face.

"Come on. Doris will follow them back. I’ll drive you home personally."

Alex blinked at her in disbelief before nodding.

The drive back to the city was really quiet. It was only the low hum of the Maybach’s engine that filled the car. Alex leaned his head against the window as the full weight of today finally pressed down on him.

Today was a really crazy day with unexpected twists that threatened to give him a headache. And this same day, he had finally killed his first Awakened. He turned his head toward the calm profile of Nyx and watched as she held the steering wheel with a focused gaze.

To be honest, he had never expected Nyx to be able to turn the whole calculated attacks aimed at her, back at the enemies. But he was still curious about how exactly she did it.

"How did you do it?" Alex asked, breaking the silence.
