Chapter 11 : Chapter 11
Chapter 11.
At the mountain summit.
The sixth-tier magic archer Falk suddenly turned around.
How did he get here?!
He had never heard of any spatial spell capable of teleporting several kilometers without any casting buildup.
However, Falk was a veteran who had survived countless battles, and his body's reaction was faster than his mind.
He did not retreat.
Instead, he bared his teeth in a ferocious grin, pulled a poisoned enchanted dagger from his waist, and stabbed backward toward Logaris West’s heart.
“Idiot, do you think I only know how to shoot arrows? You are courting death!”
But Logaris West reacted even faster.
Beneath his black research robe, silver metallic patterns instantly lit up.
BUZZ!
A full set of silver-white Magitech Armor appeared out of thin air, completely covering his body.
Complex golden patterns were engraved across the armor’s surface.
It was the fifth-generation Magitech Armor, Justice.
He had not dared to bring it out while dealing with Lilith earlier, but now he could finally use it at full power.
CLANG!—
No, that was not the crisp sound of metal striking metal.
Instead, it was a deep, resonant hum of energy.
Falk’s enchanted dagger struck the armor squarely in the chest.
The golden patterns at the impact point suddenly blazed with light, and a miniature repulsion field instantly unfolded, nullifying the immense force contained within the dagger.
There was not even a scratch left behind.
“What the hell is this thing?!”
Falk was startled.
Even with his experience, he could not recognize what this thing was.
Logaris West did not even bother responding.
He raised his right hand, which was covered by the armor, and a [Disintegration Bullet] formed instantly.
Every hair on Falk’s body stood on end.
Without thinking, he performed a clumsy roll across the ground.
BOOM!
The Disintegration Bullet struck a distant rock.
The boulder, which was the size of a carriage, vanished silently, directly decomposed into the most basic aether particles.
Looking at the place where the rock had disappeared, Falk felt a chill run down his spine.
He quickly widened the distance, nocked another arrow, and fired three homing light arrows in one breath, forming a triangular formation that sealed off all of Logaris West’s possible escape routes.
Logaris West remained standing quietly in place and did not even raise his hand.
The three light arrows screamed toward him.
At the moment they struck his body, they strangely passed straight through him without causing any damage.
[Logaris-Style Phase Deflection Shield].
Falk’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
What kind of magic was this?
Spatial distortion?
He could not understand it at all.
Before he could figure it out, Logaris West had already raised his hand.
The sky darkened.
Three Arcane Meteors, each more than fifty meters in diameter, dragged blazing tails behind them as they smashed down toward Falk from three different directions.
“Multiple casting?!”
Falk hesitated no longer.
He unleashed his speed to the limit, darting across the mountaintop like a ghost.
His figure leapt between rocks, across cliffs, and over every foothold he could find, constantly shifting and jumping in an attempt to escape the meteors’ lock.
For a time, thunderous explosions echoed across the summit as Falk’s figure flickered in and out of the fire and smoke.
……
On the plain below the mountain.
The Anti-Magic girl Lilith watched Sylvia charge toward her and felt a headache coming on.
Her “Nullification” domain completely countered all spellcasters.
However, against a purely physical class, its effectiveness was greatly reduced.
Still, it did not matter.
Her physical abilities were far beyond those of ordinary people.
She was confident she could deal with this seemingly delicate princess in close combat.
Facing the twin swords that Sylvia brought down in a downward slash, Lilith raised her dagger to block.
The magical auras of ice and fire on Sylvia’s swords, Moonfall and Starfall, instantly extinguished the moment they entered the three-meter range around Lilith, just as expected.
Lilith’s smile widened.
The next second—
CLANG!!!
The instant the dagger collided with the twin swords, Lilith’s smile froze.
A terrifying force, like a collapsing mountain and a crashing ocean, surged through the blades.
Her entire body was sent flying backward uncontrollably.
Her feet carved two deep trenches into the ground as she was forced back more than ten steps before she could barely stabilize herself.
She lowered her head to look.
The webbing between both of her thumbs, which held the dagger, had completely split open.
Blood poured down, and even her bones felt numb.
“What incredible physical strength!”
Was this woman a monster?
Was the royal Moon Bloodline really this absurdly powerful?!
Lilith suddenly looked up, only to see Sylvia’s sword techniques already upon her as countless sword lights engulfed her.
[Blade Waltz]!
Sylvia abandoned all flashy magic sword techniques and simply pushed the speed and brutality of knightly swordsmanship to their limits.
All of her battle energy was completely restrained within her body.
It was not used for external attacks.
Instead, it was used solely to stimulate the power deep within her bloodline, further enhancing her speed, strength, and reactions.
For a moment, the plain was filled with nothing but the dense sound of clashing steel.
Lilith was completely forced onto the defensive and silently complained in her heart.
After all, she was fundamentally a specialist designed to counter mages.
When facing a monster who did not rely on magic at all and was instead as powerful as a dragon purely through bloodline and physical strength, her true limitations were instantly exposed.
Her employer had only paid her to stall a mage.
They had never said anything about risking her life against a humanoid natural disaster like this!
……
At the mountain summit.
Logaris West seemed to have grown bored.
He stopped the Arcane Meteor bombardment and merely watched Falk running around in panic.
“It is over.”
He spoke softly.
Falk had just dodged another crater left by a meteor and barely steadied himself when he suddenly felt violent fluctuations of magic coming simultaneously from beneath his feet, behind his back, and above his head.
He abruptly looked down.
Three deep-red energy spheres radiating scorching heat suddenly formed beside him out of thin air through a method he could not comprehend.
They exploded instantly.
[Ultra-Long-Distance Coordinate Spell]!
Logaris West’s exclusive spell, capable of directly releasing spells at any coordinate within known space!
“Damn it!”
Falk only had time to roar before the three spheres of energy completely swallowed him.
A violent explosion erupted across the mountaintop.
After a long while, the flames gradually faded.
A charred figure staggered out from the center of the blast.
Falk’s entire body was in tatters.
Wounds covered him from head to toe, and he was barely recognizable as human.
His eyes were blood-red as he stared at Logaris West.
“You have angered me, fifth-tier brat!”
He poured every last bit of his remaining power into the massive bow in his hands.
On the bowstring, a gigantic light arrow condensed, radiating terrifying cyan energy.
[Star-Piercing Arrow]!
It was his ultimate technique.
A sixth-tier attack.
The terrifying energy made the entire mountain tremble violently as countless rocks tumbled down the slopes.
With this single strike, he intended to blast both the man before him and the entire mountain into aether particles.
Facing the devastating arrow, Logaris West calmly activated [Fixed-Point Translocation].
His figure vanished from the spot.
The gigantic light arrow missed.
Dragging a long trail behind it, it blasted through a distant mountain peak and flattened it completely.
“Damn it!”
Falk roared unwillingly as his all-out attack missed.
Without hesitation, he turned around and transformed into a blur, attempting to flee the summit.
However, Logaris West’s figure appeared in front of him again.
Standing at a distance, he simply raised one hand calmly.
“The moment you stepped onto this mountain, your ending was already decided.”
Before his words had even finished, his five fingers suddenly clenched.
BUZZ—!
The spell nodes he had secretly placed across the mountaintop during the battle were instantly activated.
Streams of energy shot into the sky and rapidly wove together before Falk’s horrified gaze, forming a massive spherical barrier that completely sealed the entire summit.
THUD!
A dull impact rang out.
Falk, who had been sprinting at full speed, slammed directly into the newly formed invisible wall and was violently bounced back.
He reached out in terror, groping the air in front of him.
His hand touched an indestructible barrier.
Looking around, he finally understood.
A trap.
From the moment he had teleported here, he had already fallen into the opponent’s trap.
Through the invisible barrier, Logaris West looked at him coldly.
There was not the slightest ripple in his gaze.
“This is one of the protective spells I developed while researching a dangerous explosive capable of producing temperatures comparable to the sun.”
“Now I am simply using it in reverse.”
As soon as the words fell, Falk’s pupils shrank.
Inside the barrier, not far away, a tiny point of light appeared out of thin air.
That point of light began expanding rapidly.
It released light and heat so intense that it was impossible to look at directly.
Beside the wreckage of the train.
Sylvia and Lilith, who were still fighting, almost simultaneously looked toward the mountain.
Akash, the captain of the guard, along with all the surviving people, stopped whatever they were doing.
Everyone raised their heads in shock and stared toward the distant mountain peak covered by the barrier.
There—
A small sun was slowly rising.
It radiated a light capable of destroying everything.
“Aether Disintegration · Corona!”
