SSS Awakening: I Can Create Skills By Will

Chapter 205: Hold the Line II

Arthur didn’t pause.

Another spear formed in his hand, then another right after it, each one sharper than the last as they spun into shape. He released them one after the other, and every strike found its mark with almost unfair precision.

Bodies dropped in quick succession.

There were no explosions this time, no loud bursts to draw attention... just quiet, efficient kills that thinned the numbers steadily.

"Behind you," Althea warned.

Arthur stepped aside without even turning.

The wolf that had lunged at him passed through the space he had just occupied..

And collapsed a second later with a spear driven clean through its chest.

"Thanks," he said lightly.

"Stay sharp," she replied.

The fight stretched on.

But something began to change.

What started as survival slowly settled into rhythm.

Calls came faster now, sharper, more instinctive.

"Right side!"

"I see it!"

"Cover me!"

"Go!"

They moved around each other more naturally. Torren created space at the front, Ryn controlled the flow of movement, Selene picked targets with growing precision, and Nox disrupted anything that slipped through.

Arthur kept reducing numbers, each action deliberate and controlled.

It wasn’t perfect.

But it worked.

And they could feel it.

Torren let out a rough laugh, breath heavy but steady as another wolf crashed into his shield.

"This is insane!"

Arthur smirked.

"You’re still standing."

"Barely!"

Selene didn’t take her eyes off her target.

"They’re not stopping."

Arthur’s gaze flicked briefly toward the distance.

He already knew.

"They won’t."

More were coming.

He could feel it... not just from the noise, but from the mana itself. It was getting thicker, heavier, more unstable with every passing second.

This wasn’t just a pack anymore.

It felt like the dungeon itself was pushing back.

Althea noticed it too, her voice quieter this time.

"...We can’t keep this up."

Ryn didn’t argue.

He didn’t need to.

They all understood.

Torren blocked another strike and exhaled sharply.

"My arms are starting to feel it."

Selene gave a small nod.

"...Same here."

They were holding..

But not for long.

Arthur clicked his tongue softly.

Yeah... this isn’t it.

They needed to move.

Now.

"We’re leaving," he said.

Ryn glanced at him.

"How?"

Arthur’s eyes moved ahead, measuring the flow of the wolves, the gaps between them, the shifting density of the pack.

Then he made the call.

"I’ll open a path and hold it."

There was a brief pause.

Torren blinked.

"You’re serious?"

Selene looked at Arthur, already understanding what that meant.

"...You’re staying back?"

Arthur gave a small shrug.

"Only for a bit."

Althea frowned.

"That’s not.."

"I’ll be fine."

He cut her off, calm but firm.

She didn’t like it.

That much was obvious.

But she didn’t argue again.

Because deep down—

She believed him.

Ryn gave a short nod.

"On your signal."

Arthur smiled.

"Good."

The wolves closed in again, tightening the circle around them.

Closer.

More aggressive.

Arthur stepped forward, and as he did, his stance shifted slightly.

This time, the air around him changed in a way the others could actually feel.

Wind gathered first, subtle but growing, curling around him in tight currents.

Then came the heat.

Faint at first.

Then building.

Torren glanced back at him, brows furrowing.

"...What are you about to do?"

Arthur’s smile widened just a little.

"When I say run..."

Selene tightened her grip on her bow.

Nox lowered her stance, ready to move.

Althea’s eyes stayed locked on him, steady despite the tension.

Ryn raised his blade slightly.

Arthur exhaled.

"Run."

Arthur didn’t wait after saying it.

The moment the word left his mouth, the air around him shifted. Wind gathered first, tight and controlled, not wild like before. Then heat followed, low at first, then rising fast.

Fire wrapped into it.

Not clashing.

Flowing.

Even he could feel the difference this time.

Good... it’s holding.

He didn’t let it grow out of control. He forced it into shape, compressing both elements together until it formed something stable.

A spear.

Large and dense.

Burning without spilling.

The ground around his feet cracked slightly from the pressure alone.

Behind him, the others felt it immediately.

Torren’s eyes widened. "What the hell is that...?"

Selene didn’t speak, but her grip tightened.

Althea felt it the most. The way the mana moved... it didn’t feel forced. It felt natural, like the two elements were meant to move together.

"...That’s not normal," she whispered.

Nox didn’t even try to hide it. "Since when does he do that?"

Ryn stayed silent, but his eyes didn’t leave Arthur.

He had seen Arthur fight.

He had seen him adapt.

But this..

This wasn’t something you just pick up.

A few days ago, Arthur didn’t even have an element.

Now he stood there, holding two, and not just barely using them...

Controlling them.

Perfectly.

Ryn let out a slow breath.

Yeah... I really don’t know this guy.

Arthur glanced back slightly, catching their stares.

"Brace."

That was all he said as It snapped them out of it ans they moved instantly.

Torren raised his shield and crouched low.

Selene shifted behind him.

Althea layered a quick protection over them without hesitation.

Nox moved further off to the side, lowering her stance.

Ryn stood firm, blade ready, trusting the timing.

They didn’t question him.

They couldn’t afford to.

Arthur faced forward again.

The wolves were already closing in, drawn by the energy gathering around him. Their growls grew louder, more aggressive, as if they sensed the threat but couldn’t stop themselves from charging.

Arthur exhaled once.

Then he let it go.

The spear shot forward.

For a split second..

There was no sound.

Just a blur of fire and wind tearing through the space ahead.

Then..

Everything exploded.

The impact ripped through the wolves like they were nothing. Fire spread outward in a violent surge, wind carrying it further, faster, turning the entire front line into a storm of heat and force.

The ground tore open.

Bodies were thrown.

Some didn’t even get that far.

They were erased where they stood.

The explosion followed a heartbeat later, loud enough to shake the air around them.
