Remarriage Failed Again Today

Chapter 705: Are you inviting me to go with you?

In the past, when she didn’t have much of her own money, she’d occasionally donate some of her allowance.

After she married Leona Grant, their relationship wasn’t very good. However, he never restricted her financially. On the contrary, she had so much money she hardly knew what to do with it.

Her grandfather knew Leona Grant didn’t treat her well, so he’d find all sorts of excuses—holidays, her birthday, you name it—to slip her money, always in large amounts.

What was even more unbelievable was that on his own birthday, he gave her a red envelope with ten million.

Even though Annabelle Linton came from a wealthy family, she didn’t have a shred of a spoiled heiress’s attitude. She could have afforded bags and clothes worth millions, but she never indulged in them.

Her philosophy was simple: as long as she had enough money to live on and her belongings were functional, that was all that mattered.

Thus, the huge sum of money she’d saved over time was anonymously donated to this particular orphanage.

The music room and public facilities at the orphanage, for instance, were all funded by her donations.

Last year, she even paid to build a library for the children.

Initially, she had always made her donations anonymously, but the orphanage director managed to track her down. Annabelle had no choice but to reveal her identity, and since then, she would visit every now and then.

At first, her visits were just about doing a good deed, but she gradually grew to love the place and its children.

Annabelle Linton hung up the phone and, grinning at Leona Grant, said, "I know where we should go."

Her smile was contagious. Leona Grant smiled back and asked, "Where to?"

"Follow me."

After landing, Annabelle Linton took Leona Grant by the hand into a massive shopping center. It was a wholesale and retail market that had everything.

She bought books, school supplies, and daily necessities in bulk, along with many, many other gifts.

Leona Grant watched her, confused. "What’s all this for?" he asked.

Annabelle Linton was buzzing with excitement as she shopped. She smiled and explained, "We’re going to the orphanage today. It’s one of the children’s birthdays, and I was invited."

’So she’s asking me to go with her?’

Leona Grant couldn’t help but feel a surge of happiness.

’Is she planning to bring me into her world?’

He loved it when she included him in her world, introducing him to her friends and passions. It made him feel like she truly wanted him to be a part of her life.

Leona Grant’s heart leaped with joy again. He asked, feigning ignorance, "So, are you inviting me to come along?"

"You’re overthinking it."

Leona Grant’s expression instantly fell.

Annabelle Linton ignored him and ran her hand over a nearby piano. She knew this brand—it had an excellent reputation, and the keys had a wonderful feel.

She recalled that the piano at the orphanage had looked rather old during her last visit. So, she turned to a salesperson and said, "Could you please have this piano delivered to Morningstar Orphanage? As quickly as possible? They’re celebrating a birthday today."

"Of course, of course," the salesperson said with a smile. "This piano is for the children there, I take it? You’re so kind, Miss, giving them such an expensive gift."

Annabelle Linton smiled and nodded, making no effort to hide the fact.

There was nothing to hide. They would find out anyway once the piano arrived.

Annabelle Linton said softly, "Please be as quick as you can. And be very careful with it during delivery—no scratches, please. Thank you."

"Of course. We’ll have it delivered right away, don’t you worry."

"Thank you."
