Chapter 694: Untitled
’That sounds like a good idea.’
He was mooching off her at home, but he could only keep that up for another week at most. Any longer, and he’d start to despise himself.
Once the week was up, he would only be able to see her during their commutes.
Life was so short. They would live to be seventy at most, and since they were both in their twenties now, that meant they only had fifty years left.
Fifty years wasn’t a long time. It really wasn’t. So he had to cherish every single second they spent together.
’Okay, here’s the plan—’
’First, I’ll get her to come to the company and familiarize herself with the environment. Then, I’ll slowly lure her into joining as my personal secretary or something. That way, we can be together twenty-four hours a day. She’ll even be with me during meetings.’
’A secretary...’
As Leona Grant thought of this, he pictured Annabelle Linton in a business suit, sitting beside him to discuss work.
Then he would slip his hand under her skirt. Their ’discussion’ would move from the desk to the bed, and Annabelle Linton would be crying, begging him to be gentle, and then...
"Leona Grant, if you’re not going to eat, just say something."
Leona Grant snapped out of it. Annabelle Linton was holding a piece of food to his mouth with her chopsticks, her face expressionless. The slight furrow of her brow betrayed her impatience.
He caught a glimpse of his own hand out of the corner of his eye... It was inside her skirt.
Leona Grant was speechless.
SLAM—
Annabelle Linton set down her bowl and walked out, tossing one last sentence over her shoulder, "I’m sleeping in the guest room tonight."
The door to their room shut, followed immediately by the sound of the adjacent door opening and closing.
He got up, walked into the hallway, and stared at the tightly shut, cream-colored door to Annabelle Linton’s room, his expression turning forlorn.
’If I knock now, will Annabelle Linton open the door?’
’I have a feeling she won’t.’
’Dammit...’
After her shower, Annabelle Linton came out, turned on her computer, put on her headphones, and began working on the video of Mrs. Yates.
A little over half an hour later, she was done.
Then, she went ahead and sent it to Vivian Yates.
’Oh, wait. That’s not right.’
The corner of Annabelle Linton’s mouth curved into a sarcastic smile.
’It’s Annabelle Ainsworth.’
「Krasnograd. Several days later.」
It was several days before Vivian Yates received the message.
That day, having just finished her shower, she opened her computer. She was trying to break through a firewall to find a way to contact her family.
She was in an unfamiliar city, and with only ten to twenty thousand yuan on her, getting around was a hassle. It had already taken her several days to breach this firewall.
She was an urban professional, after all. She had at least that much ability.
Vivian Yates excitedly opened a web browser. She was just about to test her network’s security to see if she was being monitored when an email suddenly popped up in her inbox.
The sender was listed as "Big Sis."
It was from Annabelle Linton. To cover all her bases, Vivian had left all of her "Annabelle Ainsworth" contact methods active—she just never answered them.
She was leaving herself a way out, making sure not to burn all her bridges.
Vivian Yates stared at the file from Annabelle Linton in confusion. ’What the hell is this?’ she wondered.
’Don’t tell me it’s some video or photos Annabelle Linton took of me, is it?’
Vivian Yates shuddered at the thought. ’Who the hell would want to see that bitch’s face?’
’Just one look at her is enough to make me want to bash my head against a wall. The person I hate most in this world is Annabelle Linton.’
But, afraid of missing something, she opened the files in the end.
It looked like an audio clip or a video of some kind. ’Better download it first,’ she decided.
